Kay is such a talent! We were sold at the tasting when she brought us cake flavors like key lime and butterfinger among other classics. Each piece was filled with layers of mousse that can be mixed and matched to achieve the perfect flavor. We ended up doing a strawberry layer with vanilla mousse, a white layer with angel cream, and a chocolate blackberry layer with blackberry mousse. Kay’s cakes are the best I’ve ever had! I highly recommend her to anyone. Know that you’ll be getting a trustworthy, creative baker who will create the perfect cake for your big day.

The Cake was AMAZING! Probably my favorite part of wedding planning was wedding tasting! Everything was so good. Working with Kay was super easy and fun. We were able to look through the hundreds of cakes she's made and chose both our wedding cake and the grooms cake. We customized both to fit the theme of our wedding. Our wedding cake was beautiful on the outside and delicious on the inside!! The grooms cake was perfect and my husband loved it. We got to try both of them, everyone LOVED the cake at the wedding. We didn't have any left over! The prices were very affordable for what we were looking for. I highly recommend working with Take the Cake for your wedding or special occasions!

Best tasking cake we’ve ever had!!

From the moment we met Kay for our tasting appointment, we knew she was the real deal. Take the Cake by Kay was our 4th cake tasting - we were holding out for the perfect cake for our special day and hadn't found it yet! After tasting the cakes that Kay made for us to sample and seeing her many books of cakes and flavor options, we knew we had found what we had been searching for. Kay worked with me to use the cake topper I selected as a surprise for my husband and also worked with our florist to incorporate flowers on our cake. Kay designed the most beautiful cake and delicious cake for- our guests are still raving about how amazing our cake was!

Kay made our groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner (chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse) and the wedding cake. They were not only beautiful but they were delicious. We had about 35 extra pieces of wedding cake because our numbers were a little off and there was no cake left over. That's how wonderful they taste! Kay is a delight to work with...she will do her very best to incorporate any theme that you want. And her pre-wedding cake tastings are so fun!! She's the best!

Kay made an amazing cake for my daughter's wedding last weekend! Not only was it beautiful but it was fresh and delicious! She was so easy to work with and I felt very affordable too! Before the wedding she looked so professional as she set the cake up and put the few finishing touches on that it required. We appreciated all of her hard work!

Wow! what an amazing tasting cake Kay can make! Mouth watering! First, we had a lovely experience visiting her home and tasting a few cakes. She had a lot of different designs to choose from and we ended up mixing a couple together and had an awesome flavor - almond cake with salted caramel mousse. When i took the first bite at the reception I didn't want to stop eating it! It was sooooo delicious. Everyone commented how great the cake tasted, and it was beautiful looking as well. We also had Kay make us a super fun groom's cake! I sent her a picture of a duck hunting cake and she made one almost exactly to match and it was perfect!

What a wonderful experience we had with Kay! We had a lovely, fun tasting with her and after our visit we knew the design of the cake but couldn't decide on the flavor. Everything we had tasted was so delicious! Our cake was a simple and very elegant design. I was so proud to have Kay's beautiful creation at our wedding. Kay is a wonderful person to work with and her cakes have so much flavor and texture dimension to them.

I was fortunate to attend two weddings prior to mine that had Cakes designed by Kay. After tasting the first bite I knew that is the cake I would serve at my wedding. There was no discussion! Not only are they delicious, they are gorgeous, custom works of art. My husband is already planning the next occasion we can order another Cake by Kay!

Long story short: If you're like us and want the best of both worlds...the MOST delicious AND the MOST stunning cake Kay is your answer! We designed our cake and what Kay created was beyond our already very high expectations and was absolutely out of this world stunning and delicious! Our guests could not stop talking about the cake. My husband and I heard the rave reviews from friends about how amazing Kay was but we spent a considerable amount of time searching the internet and making vendor appointments to compare vendors. However, there is no comparison when it comes to Kay and her artistic ability. Tasting notes: We created a new combination of cake flavors, almond cake with salted caramel mousse filling and it was INCREDIBLE! I've heard it time and again but I'll say it too... her salted caramel mousse filling IS THE BEST EVER!

Kay Benjamin can provide the best looking and even better tasting cake than you could imagine. I went to her home to sample cakes (the bride lived out of town, so she missed out) and was so impressed by the flavor and texture of the cake. She had albums filled with beautiful photos so it was easy to give her an idea of what we had in mind. Once my daughter came to town, we sat down and designed the perfect cake with Kay. We choose two flavors (white cake with a delicate caramel mousse and chocolate cake with a smooth hazelnut mousse) and white buttercream frosting that was so perfectly frosted, you would think it was fondant, only much better tasting. I wish I had ordered an extra anniversary cake so that we could have brought home some leftovers for my out of town guests. Everyone agreed it was the best cake and wanted more! Kay is a joy to work with and I will remember her next time I need a cake for any special occasion!

We got 2 cakes for our dessert table. They were both beautiful and delicious. Kay did a fantastic job, and we were very happy with the cakes. Only a couple of issues came up. During our initial planning meeting, no one took good notes, and we met several months before the wedding. So when it came time to confirm the details of the cakes, no one really remembered what we talked about. So we basically had to go over all the planning again, but we were more stressed out because it was about 2 weeks before the wedding. I think that lack of planning let to the other issue, which was that our second cake was supposed to be mauve and came out brown. It was definitely not what we ordered, but it tasted just as good. I still highly recommend using Take the Cake for your event, just make sure to take good notes.

Our cake was not only beautiful but delicious! Kay is an incredible artist and so easy and fun to work with. Although she does hundreds of weddings she made us feel very important. Our guests were very impressed by the cake.

Kay (and her work) is literally the epitome of perfection. She has been doing this for years and she is astounding at it. Her designs are superb!! I knew all that going into it but my most important criteria was the taste - because I have heard time and time again people complaining about "wedding cake" and boy has it acquired quite the bad reputation. I was blown out of the water by Kay's cakes - they were phenomenal!! She is prized for her mousses and they really are delicious (even though I'm normally not a fan of mousse)!! Overall, incredible and memorable - definitely go with Take the Cake!

Kay did an amazing job with my cake and cake pops. It was so tasty and looked exactly like what we had discussed. She is easy to work with and is incredibly talented!!!

Our wedding cake was perfect. It was not only delicious (white cake with strawberry and white chocolate mousse), but it was beautiful! We met with Kay a few times before our wedding to come up with ideas. It turned out to be absolutely beautiful! All the guests were telling us how good the cake was! Looking forward to enjoying it again on our anniversary!

Kay Benjamin is extremely talented and, in my eyes, is a cake artist! Our cake turned out beautifully and everything we discussed at the planning meeting came to fruition on our cake. The guests oohed and aaahed over the cake the whole night, and it was all gone before we knew it! Delicious cake with lots of flavor options - highly recommended!

The cake was absolutely stunning. It had flowers, diamonds, five tiers, and it was all white. The thing I loved most about Take The Cake is she could do anything you wanted! She was so talented, and she has had tons of experience.

My fiance and I had read the reviews for Kay and Take the Cake. We called her to do a tasting, and realized that she does her business from her house. She welcomed us in and made us feel so comfortable. We tasted 3-4 different cakes and fillings. We had no trouble picking our favorites (chocolate cake with chocolate filling and white cake with white chocolate filling...we wanted flavors everyone would like) but we had a harder time picking a style of cake. Kay was so patient with us. She helped us look through all of her pictures until my fiance and I could agree on a style. We loved what we chose, and although it was from a picture of a cake she had already done, she made subtle changes to make it special for us! We loved that she has the top of the cake already wrapped up for you to freeze for your first anniversary so you don't have to worry about doing that right after your wedding. The cake looked amazing when we walked into our reception, and it tasted even better. It was really the best cake I have ever tasted and I had SEVERAL of my guests tell me the same thing. We had ordered several extra pieces just in case people went back for seconds but we still didn't end up with much leftover. It was just too good! I'm already trying to figure out what holiday is coming up that we can order another cake for! I strongly recommend Kay and Take the Cake...especially if you want to have people talking about your wedding cake weeks after the wedding!

I tried cakes from over 10 bakers for my wedding. I chose Kay (Take the Cake) because her cake and frosting tasted the best. When I met her for my consultation, she had me try a few different fillings with some cake. I ended up choosing white cake with vanilla and creamsicle filling. It was delicious!! I gave her an example of a cake I liked, but told her to use her artistic discretion. The cake looked beautiful!! Everyone said that the cake was DELICIOUS... and even though I ordered extra cake, all of it was gone by the end. People told me that they went back for seconds! I was extremely happy with Kay's services and she was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend Take the Cake.

Kay's cakes are not only pretty but very tasty as well. I had a hard time explaining what I wanted but she was able to get pretty close to what I had in mind.
