They are the best wedding venue in lexington!! This wedding venue was the perfect most beautiful wedding venue we could have possibly ever seen! I loved everything about this venue, and it just made our day soooo much better!! Jill was absolutely amazing and so were the staff!! HIGHLY recommend having your wedding here if you need a nice, beautiful, cheap place for your big day!!! We had our wedding on a Thursday, and that didn’t change anything about our day! Our day was absolutely amazing and it’s all thanks to Jill and her staff!!

I booked the Monarch Pavilion for my bridal shower in August 2022. We had a wonderful experience! The venue is perfect for a larger shower or smaller event. We had plenty of seating and shade, especially for the August heat! We had the venue for three hours, and it was reasonably priced. I would 100% book my shower there again!

Talon Winery and Jill exceeded our expectations. Jill was amazing with communication all details and updates involving COVID and all things related to our wedding day. She walked us through every step and was patient with my 900 questions. We were able to visit the venue multiple time to figure out and finalize our vision. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. I was in awe with how beautiful it looked on our wedding with all the lights and decor. I will recommend Talon Winery to all future brides in the Lexington area!

The Talon team was easy to work with and always communicated quickly during the planning process. The venue pricing was very fair. The venue and landscaping makes for the most perfect and picturesque backdrop.
Keep in mind that there is very little included alongside the venue fee (chairs & tables only) for the reception barn. So make sure that decorating the space completely by yourself is in your budget.
Also - you are required to purchase 2 cases (24 bottles) of Talon Wine when booking your event there. Most people are fine with this since they can use the wine at the wedding (we gave ours as gifts since we had a dry wedding). But it is important to note since that is approximately $500 extra dollars you’ll have to spend with Talon that isn’t included in the venue fee.
Highly recommend renting BOTH spaces upstairs in the tasting house. The Bridal Suite & Equestrian Room - it was great having all that space to get ready.

GREAT wedding venue on the BEST day!
Thank you SO MUCH to Lauren, Carla, and the entire Talon Winery team for helping make our wedding day everything we could have hoped for! Your responsiveness and service could NOT be beat, and I really appreciate how seamless the entire wedding process was at Talon (especially considering Lauren was pregnant at the time and STILL got back to me so quickly always--THANK YOU!!). We got married in the vineyard and had our reception at the barn in October of 2018, and I cannot recommend this venue enough! We loved getting ready in the bridal suite and having quick and easy access to everything we needed on the day-of the wedding. The Talon ladies made sure everything was clear and efficient from start to finish, and I felt like I knew exactly what was I could expect from their team and this venue throughout the entire wedding process. The bartenders even thought ahead to keep a few of my husband's favorite beers aside for him towards the end of the night, and remembered who our family members were throughout the evening, even though I have a HUGE family. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here, AND to top it all off--we have the MOST amazing pictures of the beautiful space, barn, and vineyard! Thank you so much, Talon--if we could do it all again, we'd do it the same!

Talon Winery was the perfect place for our dream winter wedding! Luckily, we had beautiful day so we could have our wedding outside, but we were never concerned because we knew we had a great Plan B option too (the Ca'Barn'et Barn). The Vineyard was beautiful and the reception could not have been more perfect! All the staff, especially Lauren (Talon's Event Coordinator) , were great to work with and so encouraging/helpful during the wedding planning process. We highly recommend Talon Winery!

If you are looking for a barn wedding, vineyard wedding or just a wedding that has a gorgeous outdoor back drop then this is your place!
While Talon has so much going for it what made us fall in love with it is how versatile it is in terms of the backdrop. The lake, the hills, the vineyard, the barn! I have looked at countless different photo's from other weddings and they all look different in their own beautiful way.
In regards to Talon as a whole it has a lot of what you need as well as a "add ons". The barn was larger enough to hold our 150 guests comfortably, the patio out back was perfect for cocktail hour, and the fact that they have chairs and table was awesome! We really only had to rent what we wanted to add on (benches, special farm tables, chairs and the like). The getting ready suite at the main building was the perfect amount of space for my 6 bridesmaids, the momma's and I. Lauren is a dream to work with and was there first thing in the morning! They have vendors they can recommend to you to work with but you don't have to work with them, they were great about letting us on to the property a day early to set up since there was no Friday wedding and allowed us to hang florals and drapery from the barn roof. The staff at the bar were wonderful, there was a perfect amount of room for dancing and our guests could not say enough about how beautiful the property was.
Only a couple of things to note that I wish were different, but definitely not deal breakers. The area for the guys to get ready in was small and if you don't want your guys getting ready in the barn that back room may be tight. And because it's a bit of a drive out, a hotel didn't work for us logistically (though maybe it would be fine for you). I know that we had several caterers say the kitchen is small to work in, though no one turned us down because of it, just something to be aware of if you have your heart set on a caterer. I know it can also get warm in the barn. Luckily we really did have the perfect weather and it cooled down a lot at night so I was only slightly warm in my big dress. But I have been a guest at other weddings out there and it has been roasting. Just remember to keep this in the back of your head and if you are someone who is really bothered by the heat be aware. I know they do their best but there really is not much you can do with Kentucky heat sometimes. They have AC and it worked well enough for us but again just be aware.
Otherwise I couldn't have imagined having my wedding anywhere else. We had such a fun time and it really gave all our guests a sense of how beautiful Kentucky is!

Talon was a beautiful location and the photos turned out amazing! I didn't have to do any decorating except the tables because of the natural beauty the barn and vineyard has to offer and still had so many compliments on the decor! Lauren was great to work with and she answered all my questions quickly. My only complaint is that a few things went missing after the wedding and we were later told by another employee that if you leave something there overnight, most likely it was thrown away. We lost a shadow box at the bar and personalized hangers in the bridal suite. My advice is to have someone come behind everyone and make sure everything is picked up before the wedding starts so you don't forget anything.

Talon Winery was the very first venue we looked at during our search and once we saw it in person, it was a yes before we even went to our other appointments. The venue itself is gorgeous and is naturally beautiful. This is what Kentucky is all about! Lauren was off the charts amazing with everything. Anytime we had questions, even being in a different timezone that was 3 hours apart, she was on top of it. She made us feel so comfortable with our decision. She always gave great detail and answered all questions in a timely manner. The staff day of the wedding was wonderful. Everyone was very pleasant and willing to help in any way to make our day everything we wanted and more!

Had our wedding here, and it was beautiful! Even though it rained on my day the inside was gorgeous. Lauren helped out so much with us planning our wedding. They do not allow candles or fireworks which was only disappointing thing. I recommend if you have wedding inside to have speakers close to where the bridal party comes in because it is hard to hear the DJ. I would have my wedding here again. Everyone remembered the wine because it tasted amazing!

Talon Winery was the perfect venue for the rustic but also simple and elegant look I wanted for the wedding. We looked at many rustic locations around Kentucky but many of them did not have a concrete floor (they were gravel), none of the others had AC/Heating, and none of the others had indoor plumbing meaning you would need to rent porter potties on the day of the wedding. Even thought other venues were very picturesque too when you start thinking about the convenience for you guests, AC and indoor plumbing are really nice to have especially in the middle of May. Talon is beautiful on its own before you add any decoration but Talon is also one of those venues that you can really make your own. You can influence the look however you would like. It can take on many forms. Also Talon is a fairly hands-off venue. Some venues have a wedding coordinator that is very involved in the planning of the wedding. Talon is involved in booking and the alcohol portion but other than that they do not do much for the wedding. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on what you want. I honestly preferred it that way because then the look of the wedding and overall image were mainly influence by me and the wedding coordinator I chose to hire. They will provide you with a list of vendors they recommend if you are needing a place to start or want to know which vendors are used to working at Talon. Also, Talon is allowed to schedule other events on the day of your wedding down at their tasting house. They did schedule another event that day that had music involved but they were very respectful during the ceremony. They turned the music off for our entire ceremony and did not restart the music at the other event until the ceremony was completed concluded. I honestly kind of liked the other event taking place right down the hill because when the music did start back it guests who were hanging outside the barn had music playing for them. We rented out the entire upstairs (bridal suite and private tasting room). I would recommend renting the entire upstairs because they can also schedule a private tasting party on the day of your wedding if you do not rent out that space as well. I would recommend renting it out for that reason and it also just gives everyone more room to spread out and hang out while getting ready that morning. The bridal suite has so much romantic charm and it was such a great sport for my bridesmaids and me to get ready in. During the reception we had a wedding guests that got a little out of control and damaged a portion of the men's bathroom. Talon was extremely understanding about this and resolving the issue with Talon was not made a big deal of or any big issue at all. I had soon many people tell me how much they loved the venue and how much fun they had. Talon has such a great atmosphere where people feel like they can relax and have fun. It truly is a great wedding venue!

If you are looking for picturesque, rustic and elegance, and natural beauty as your background for a near future celebration look no further! Talon Winery and Vineyard has all that and more. I have known the Talon Winery Family for over 7 years and loved every moment from the fantastic wines, gorgeous landscape, smiling faces and direction for perfection for any event. We recently held our wedding celebration on the vineyard, patio happy hour and barn reception at Talon Winery and I could not have had a more wonderful experience. We live out of state so communication was essential. Lauren was prompt, reassuring, clear and concise and so helpfully in referring vendors, set-up suggestions and last minute details. She made this bride very happy from day one all the way to the ceremony! The bartenders from Talon were professional, flexible and a great reflection of the Talon Family! We just received some of the photos from our photographer and they turned out amazing thanks to the backdrop of Talon Winery and our photographer. If you are thinking about a special event stop here....get in the car, make a phone call or send an e-mail to get started, you will not be disappointed. Much love and thanks to Talon Winery & Vineyard!

First of all, I'd like to say that the venue itself was gorgeous. If you're planning an evening wedding at the arbor by the big black barn, then your pictures will be amazing. Especially at sunset.
However, I was extremely disappointed in the way that I (the bride), my bridal party, my planner, and my other vendors were treated on the day of our wedding.
We honestly picked Talon because the barn, where we were having our reception, was supposed to have AC. I understood that it might still be warm inside, but I was assured it should have been around 20 degrees cooler than it was outside.
I am so disappointed that the coordinator did not see fit to let us know that the AC wasn't working. Though she insisted it was, it was obvious it was not, and we have since found out that it hasn't been working for most of the summer.
The events coordinator (Lauren) told me on the day of the wedding that it wasn't her job to check the weather when I asked why she hadn't at least warned us that the wasn't working. Considering she later told us that Talon is her parents' business, I could understand her frustration with our bridal party's panic, but I did not understand or appreciate the tone she took with me or the flippancy with which she approached the problem. Though Lauren later apologized to my wedding planner, she has not attempted to nor did she on the day attempt to apologize to me or my family, though we would have been happy with just a simple "I'm sorry."
In addition, I was also not provided with the kind of/number of tables in the barn that I paid for.
In my honest opinion, proceed with caution. I think this would be a great venue for a spring or fall wedding, but only so long as you don't need any extra attention.

Talon Winery & Vineyards was the ideal space for our wedding ceremony and reception. My husband and I knew before we were even engaged that we wanted to have our wedding at a winery. Talon offered the intimate feel we desired while still providing ample space to accommodate our large families.
One of the features that attracted us to Talon was the sense of security and flexibility. We knew that we wanted to have our ceremony at one of their three beautiful outdoor spaces, but in case of rain, they were more than willing to help us move the ceremony into the reception barn. Thankfully, we didn’t have to take them up on this offer, and our ceremony took place at the arbor located directly behind the vines and overlooking the pond.
The Ca’Barn’Et Barrel Barn was a wonderful reception space. The barn is a beautiful option for a rustic reception, but it also boasts modern amenities, such as a concrete floor, air conditioning, and indoor restrooms. The spacious interior was able to comfortably house 150 guests, an indoor photo booth, catering stations, and a DJ stand without infringing on the dance floor.
Throughout the planning process, I had the pleasure of working with Lauren, Talon’s event coordinator. She is WONDERFUL. Lauren is a prompt and professional communicator, was able to answer all of my questions, and kept me up-to-date and on track with planning.
One item to note if you choose to have your reception at Talon is that all alcohol must be purchased through them. However, in our opinion, Talon makes some of the best wine in Kentucky, so this was no problem for us. You can also purchase cases of a few types of beer to add to your bar options.
Another item to be aware of is that while reception chairs and tables are included with the barn rental, ceremony chairs must be rented separately. This order needs to be placed about a month prior to the wedding, so this is something to be aware of when setting a response deadline for your RSVPs.
Overall, we had an excellent experience hosting our wedding at Talon Winery & Vineyards!

Minus the small rain shower that happened right before the ceremony, Talon was perfect for an outdoor ceremony and beautiful reception. The twinkle lights that the barn is decorated in is beautiful and pictures and set the perfect atmosphere for a dance floor. Talon provided tables and chairs for the reception. The chairs for our ceremony were $350, the venue was only $1000 (we had our wedding on a Thursday), the bridal suite was $200, they provided bartenders for $15 an hour, and alcohol was also inexpensive compared to other venues we looked at (about $1.25 a beer for an open bar).

My husband and I chose Talon as our Wedding Venue and it couldn't be been a more PERFECT choice!
Our wedding was on a Thursday. We used the barn only (with pending weather changes) for both ceremonial site and our reception area. Because Talon allows a lot of DIY options it worked out great for our budget to have various vendors affordably available for our Blues & BBQ style wedding. Our guests loved the inside coy pond and were so tickled at the rustic charm of the Barn and all the little details of the venue that made our wedding day so special.
We had both live band and DJ and still plenty of room for guests to dance and enjoy the night. There was a simple cash bar with a free glass of wine for our guests to drink chosen by us.
I'm so thankful to Paige for working with us! She was courteous and very informative on what we could do and what we couldn't do with the property. We emailed each other at times as if we were sisters bubbly with excitement at the possibilities. (Paige was more 'grounded' then me ;) ) The professional staff available the day of our event that helped with parking and finer kitchenette details. Even the bartenders loved our wedding!
It truly was a natural selection for us :) Such a smooth and easy process wedding peoples!!---- Bridal parties, choose Talon!

We got married on New Years Eve 2014 at Talon Winery in Lexington, and had a really great experience.
We planned our wedding in a short amount of time and Paige from Talon was extremely helpful. She had some great suggestions for us along the way including how to set up the barn and best practices purchasing beer and wine. She, and everyone else at Talon, were very easy to work with from start to finish.
We found Talon to be among the most flexible wedding venues in Lexington as they did not restrict the caters we could choose from. This was very important to us. While there is no liquor allowed at Talon, the wine is very good and beer selection was plenty. The grounds are beautiful and made for wonderful pictures.
On the day before our wedding, Paige reached out to us regarding decorations left from a wedding a few days before ours that would complement our decorations. This was thoughtful of the Talon staff and a very nice touch to our decor.
We had a wonderful wedding at Talon that went off without a hitch thanks to their help. We would recommend to anyone getting married in KY.

My husband and I got married at Talon Winery September 6, 2014, It was absolutely perfect! Paige, Talon’s event coordinator, was excellent in helping us with every step along the way. Meeting with us when we asked and explained how everything would work. My bridesmaids and I were able to resnt out the bridal suite that morning to get ready that morning, it was a nice private area away from the chaos of the big day. We got married at the Moonlight gazebo and had our reception in the Ca“barn”et Barrel Barn. The gazebo is beautiful, you are surrounded by the beautiful vineyard, a small pond and large fields. The sight is absolutely breath taking. The barn is spacious and beautiful. They provide the tables and chairs for your reception which will save you money in the long run. Our guests absolutely loved the wine that we provided from Talon. If you are looking for a rustic beautiful atmosphere I highly recommend Talon Winery.

LOVED this location. I can honestly say if I went back to re-plan our wedding I would pick the same venue. This location is absolutely gorgeous, with the barn and lights inside. The barn is a BEAUTIFUL setting for our wedding. We actually had both the ceremony and reception inside and it worked very well. The cost was also reasonable due to the season (December wedding).
The day of the wedding we had a minor mishap and a great deal of the Christmas lights that line the rafters were blown. Paige (events coordinator) came in quickly and fixed everything. It was wonderful service. The bartenders were also very friendly and helpful.
Viewing and reserving the venue was very easy. Overall, I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else.

Wedding coordinator is more of a rule enforcer so prepare to coordinate yourself or hire one. Beautiful place for a wedding ceremony and reception. Chosen because you can get all tables, chairs, and alcohol from them so you have less vendors to deal with. Also, chosen because of the time restrictions of other similar vendors due to noise ordinances of surrounding horse farms.

We had our wedding and reception at Talon and it was absolutely beautiful. Their wedding coordinator was very helpful and the bar staff was all very kind to our guest. The property was clean and well maintained. My only "eh" is that they had another wedding on the property at the same time as our wedding and never told us about it. It was a minor distraction and did prevent us from taking photos by the water as we had planned, but if I had to do it again I absolutely would.

Talon was the perfect venue for my wedding. Everything we needed was provided, including tables and chairs. It was a good place to have both the ceremony and reception. It was also a great backdrop for pictures. The bartenders were great but overall the service wasn't excellent. There was a miscommunication and a jazz band was playing during the ceremony. This venue is a bit pricey but I think it is worth it if you are looking for a vineyard or barn wedding.

This is a tough review due to the fact that one aspect was amazing and the other was horrible. Let's start with horrible.
Sharon, the Events Coordinator at Talon is awful. She seemed nice and helpful when we first met her and toured the venue. But, when it came down to crunch time she was hard to get in contact with, not helpful and went back on her word several times.
Talon also charges you for everything; staking fee for a tent, cleanup fee, bridal suite rental fee, $48 for a case of Bud Light! It can get pretty expensive when all is said and done, but the goods may just barely trump those faults.
Bottom line, Talon is an amazing place for an outdoor wedding. Everyone was curious as to why we picked Talon, but the instant they arrived and saw the acres of rolling hills, lakes, vineyards and rustic barns, they knew why we chose Talon. The grounds are gorgeous and offer so many photo options and the Ca'Barn'et Barn is an excellent to hold your reception. Plenty of space for 250 guests, open floor plan, concrete floors, AC, bathrooms, kitchen and a great wooden rustic feel.
In the end, I would recommend Talon Winery simply because it is a stunning place that nobody will forget. Also, I have a slight feeling Sharon, after we are done with our talk with the owner, might not be around too much longer...

Talon is was the perfect place for our wedding. The grounds are beautifully kept and the staff was all so friendly and helpful. The one big drawback from our whole experience was the event coordinator. She did not do a good job of explaining things to us, she made promises she did not keep, and she did not give us our invoice for alcohol and the facility until the day of the wedding. Had it not been for that, the whole thing would have been perfect. I Just wish she had been more helpful.

Talon Winery was by far THE BEST wedding venue I have ever been to. I planned my wedding from Texas and believe me, we definitely shopped around for the best rustic barn. The staff at Talon was so friendly and accommodating. Sharon went out of her way to make our wedding so perfect! I absolutely loved working with her and getting to know her family. She is phenomenal!
The barn was absolutely beautiful with the white lights. It provides an amazing canvas to decorate.

Sharon, from Talon, was great to work with and the venue was beautiful. They have it down, with the amount of weddings that they have put on, they know what works and what doesn't now. The wine was tasted before of course and they have quite a few wonderful wines that guests were able to select from. I wish I would have used their bartenders...Erica specifically. Our wedding was in Ocotber and it was just the perfect month to be there! We were so happy with them!

Talon is gorgeous year-round. (Great pictures.) It's a little difficult to get to, so we provided a shuttle for our guests (winding country roads). The barn, where we held our reception, is fully conditioned with nice bathrooms, and they provide tables and chairs. The venue definitely isn't cheap, and not much is included otherwise, so you need to provide your own food, tablecloths, music, etc. We got to make custom wine labels, which was nice. I did have a few problems with service, just getting people to call me back promptly, but it wasn't too bad. Some of the fees were a little unclear at the end too, as far as renting extra tables and chairs that were already in the barn, and that was annoying.

The winery was great! We extended the dock that they have at the pond so that the entire wedding party could fit on it for our dream "water" wedding. The reception was held in their famous barn, which was also amazing. The only downfall was in contacting the employees. Everyone was very polite, it just wasn't easy to get intouch with the staff. Overall, very nice location and venue.
