, I would not recommend this DJ. We felt confident in our decision when he had us fill out a packet with types of music and specific songs we wanted to hear. We didn't hear many of them. We listed specific genres of music (and provided him a detailed playlist for inspiration) that we wanted to hear during the dinner. It was a multicultural wedding and it was important to us that some of our Spanish selections played. Instead, a pre-mixed pop mashup similar to what you would hear in a mall played during the entire cocktail hour. Also included in the packet were specific lengths we wanted songs to play, but he didn't mix any of the music. This left everyone involved in choreographed dances looking a little surprised. We had our guests turn in requests ahead of time but towards the end of the night it was clear none of those were going to play if they didn't place in-person requests. Also we had specific times for when toasts, or cake cutting or the open dance would occur. Instead of having spaced breaks during those events, he would move immediately onto the next event. We provided a timeline of events, however it felt rushed during the end. By no means did the DJ ruin our big day, but every guest commented on the complaints we raised in this review.

From botching the music during crucial moments like the vows and bridal party entrance, to forgetting important names and playing inappropriate elevator music during dinner, it was a disaster. The lack of communication and professionalism was appalling. If you value your special day, steer clear of this DJ service. They turned what should have been a joyous occasion into a nightmare.

ure the vibe we envisioned came to reality. He asked all of the right questions during the walk thru and even had a back up plan to the back up plan in order to keep our mind at ease. He didn’t insert on us his idea of how the entertainment should be, but instead let us dictate & gave suggestions when asked. There were last minute changes to the itinerary literally hours before and he didn’t flinch. He remembered our changes, double checked the morning of and coordinated with the wedding planner in real time. He basically knew our wedding itinerary better than our wedding planner. Even correcting her at times (but in a respectful, soft kinda way). He knew the area we moved from and threw a couple surprise tracks in that had a guests light up with excitement & all my wife & I could do was smile at each other & give a salute to the DJ booth. Tamik and his team are the standard in event planning and execution. Going forward in our lives we will be reaching out to him to celebrate birthdays, events, and special occasions. & you’re a fool if you don’t do the same.

at we had found our DJ. DJ Tamik has fun on the job because he sees his audience having fun. He knows how to read a crowd and how to connect with each person on and off the dancefloor. He offers music suggestions for each big wedding event for those not-so-musically inclined like me and my wife. His MC skills are second to none and man, he can really pump up the crowd for your big entrance into the ceremony. He can select the right music for the moment and get everyone in your reception involved in having fun and celebrating you as a couple. His lighting setup creates such a fun atmosphere. I wish I would have called him sooner to remove one more stressor from wedding planning. And his rates are incredible. I would recommend DJ Tamik to anybody getting married in the Tampa/St. Pete area (and any other area if he opens up shop elsewhere).

ole. He was funny but didn’t overstep as an Emcee and he made sure to accommodate music requests and play songs to keep our wedding guests engaged, and they were! He even blessed the food when the father of the groom chose not to. He is as great as all of his wonderful reviews and I cannot recommend him enough for your special day.

helpful, you could really tell he has been a professional in the business for a while. He knew exactly what questions to ask and took a lot of stress off our shoulders. I am so glad that we chose him instead of a bigger, more flashy entertainment company because he was so affordable and made it feel like we were a priority. On the day of the wedding, he arrived early, knew exactly where to set up and seamlessly blended in to the space. I am so grateful for Terrell for taking photos of us throughout the night and sending them to us. One of the sweetest things was when my sister (maid of honor) made a speech and mentioned a special song that we share: Jump by Van Halen. Later in the night, DJ Tamik played the song and dedicated it for us to dance to. I thought that my sister had requested the song, and she thought that I had requested it, but really it was the attentiveness of DJ Tamik who was listening during her speech. Neither of us realized it was his doing until we had a laugh about it several days later. I would 1000% recommend DJ Tamik for your wedding or event. You can trust that he will make it a good time for everyone, and if I ever have another event I will definitely be calling him.

During our initial conversation with DJ Tamik, he walked us through how would help manage our event to alleviate some of the stress that comes with getting married. He not only worked well with us but also with our friends and family to make sure everyone had a good time. We constantly got compliments through out the night about how well he MC'd the event. He made the evening enjoyable and provided a chill atmosphere for our guests to dance or just relax and get to know each other. Without a doubt we would choose DJ Tamik to MC and DJ any future event we would host.

DJ Tamik has an awesome personality and is a great emcee. He was funny, warm, easy to understand, and paced my reception incredibly well. We didn’t start on time (bridal party was late) but we ended on time! For a bride who really was not sure what she wanted or needed he handled it with patience and a smile the entire time.

e. It was fine, just not what I requested. 2. Communication was basically non existent which is the kiss of death for an anxious bride. I honestly wasn't sure they were going to show up. In retrospect that was definitely me overreacting but that's what us brides do unfortunately. 3. They had issues with my gobo and were going to substitute a generic one at the last minute and I was devastated. But they worked it out and it came out nicely. 4. The ceremony music was a little too quiet in my opinion. 5. This was the biggest issue - the microphones cut in and out during the toasts. It was hard to watch my new husband's Grandpa struggle through it. But they apologized profusely and stated that they were literally going to buy new ones the next day because of it. And they really tried their very best to make it work in that moment. BUT here is what went great! 1. Many wedding DJs are all about them. Intrusive, too much commentary etc. Ours blended away so that though honestly forgot that someone was making that music happen. 2. We had obscure songs and even needed words edited out and they had every single song we requested and appropriately edited where needed. 3. Their pre-wedding checklist. Holy smokes I can't speak highly enough about this thing. Every single moment of that wedding was planned out on that sheet. Soooooo much stuff I hadn't even thought of was on that planner. Filling it out made my wedding perfect because it was exactly right. From the "must play" and "definitely don't play that any circumstances!" list to making sure no good intentioned but intoxicated guest gets the mic, it covered every scenario. I didn't worry about a thing on my big day. 4. My reception venue was supposed to be set up for us to decorate but at 230 the y were just putting the tables up. I freaked as the wedding started at 430 and I still needed my hair styled. My DJ set up quickly and had free time so he jumped in and helped my friends set up the reception venue without even being asked. 5. Reasonably priced. Definitely affordable. 6. AND HERE IS WHY YOU SHOULD HIRE THEM: What matters in a DJ is reading a room. My guest demographics were tough - about 1/3 were under 35 and the rest were basically over 60 and our families met for the first time on our wedding day due to geography (we live in FL but our families are all in NY and Boston still). Plus it was a small wedding - only about 40 people which is always a dancing challenge. But the dance floor was full for the entire night. Seriously. The entire night. There wasn't one song played that the floor was empty and that floor was packed much of the time. My elderly aunt commented on how much she loved the Italian music during dinner. My 4 year old stepdaughter danced every song. Literally every one! My Mom and my college age nieces were all on the floor. My husband's aunt said "I have literally never been to a wedding where everyone danced and there was no lull at all". And that's what mattered. Yes there were hiccups and yes some things could have gone more smoothly. But at the end of the night, I rested knowing my guests had a GREAT time. And I did too.
