NO star is deserved for TV. Although we have all been avid long-term fans of Tangled Vine, & attended dozens of their performances with friends, we were treated unprofessionally, thoughtlessly and rudely for the wedding big event that had been... so carefully planned, in great detail, for well over a year - as it was a destination wedding, not local.
When TV was hired, it was specified that lead vocalist, Christine Tambakis was to be the only vocalist performing, no substitute ( & this was into the written contract).
The band arrived at our location the day before the wedding, more than 24 hours before the wedding. So as can be imagined, we were distraught & disgusted (& infuriated) when Kevin (musician & band leader/manager)approached us a HALF HOUR BEFORE the ceremony was to begin, to announce that Christine 'wasn't going to make it' - offering the lamest, most unprofessional excuses ever, thanks to Christine. The band would not have been hired if Christine wasn't going to available to perform, as Kevin & Christine knew. Totally unacceptable & rude to the max..
Although Kevin is a nice person, he was extremely hard to work with: very non - responsive and hard to reach, with no call backs. The same issue was also reported to us by the Venue's event manager, in writing to us.
When the Bridal couple had FINALLY received the band's songlist & made choices and put in their personal requests, all was nicely agreed on. But since the band showed up to something as important as a formal event -for a formal destination wedding - with an unknown "substitute" vocalist, she apparently knew none of the songs that were supposed to be played. They sounded terrible- the disappointment had the Bride in tears. This was not some local bar scene, where a substitute can sometimes be acceptable. This was a prepaid-for event with a contract. This could not have been handled worst, with Christine's lack of respect for my family and by overbooking her schedule, AFTER having made a definite commitment to us, as her prior commitment, which should have superseded any other music event that came up later on her 'oh so busy schedule'. So unreliable. The lack of respect for a couple's wedding on Christine's part was unacceptable and uncool. And not being informed ahead of her likely 'no-show' status gave us no option or choice to hire a different band.
We accommodated them extremely well, and this is how we were treated, like it was a last minute gig put into their schedules. Cannot express how disappointed & disgusted we all were/are.
