Alongside creating Make-Up Therapy, Tara is a celebrity make-up artist and public speaker, building on a passion for the craft that started aged 7. Born just outside Philly, Tara graduated from the University of Arizona with a double major in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. After moving to LA, she worked with global brands such as Shu Uemura and Bobbi Brown, working with some of Hollywood’s star names. Now, Make-Up Therapy counts 35 artists across locations in LA and New York, and their work has appeared in Vogue, Glamour, US Weekly, The Hollywood Reporter, and more.

special day. Kaya, Studio Manager, was highly organized and responsive. Viktoriya and Mandy, Senior Artists, made me look and feel my very best for the wedding. I’ve never felt more beautiful or confident, all while put entirely at ease during the getting-ready portion of the day. They worked ahead of schedule, even with 10 women to make up! each of us wanted and executed our visions perfectly. I am someone who wears little to no make-up, and was worried that I would feel like someone else on my wedding day. Tara heard me clearly and did my make-up in such a way that helped me feel beautiful, yet natural-- like an elevated version of myself. Tara and Alex were so lovely to speak to, while also giving me space to be silent as I anticipated the day ahead. I want to express my deepest gratitude for their kindness, understanding, and talent. She answered every message and call so fast.
She made time to do several trials so we can work out a look, because I was nervous about it.

Tara is super organized and was always on time.
What I learned was most important is that even though I am not someone who wears tons of makeup or feels comfortable as the center of attention, even though I was super stressed and nervous; on the day of my wedding I felt so beautiful. That's really the most important part. I smiled freely and felt happy because I trusted them and their work. They didn't make me look artificial, but I still looked and felt glamorous. It was dramatic without being over the top.
Definitely the next time I need my hair and makeup done, I am calling Tara.
Also, I should mention that I was really concerned with finding a team for all 9 of my friends and myself. We are different shades of Caucasian, Middle Eastern, Latina and African American and I was sincerely worried that I wouldn't be able to find a team that could suit all our needs, but Tara's team did it.
I have mad curly hair. Rarely can hairstylist handle it. Marisa did my hair once, I gave her a couple of notes and then she blew it out of the ballpark on my wedding day. It was exactly as I had imagined and she had enough of an eye to keep all of my hair in balance with my face and body (small body, big hair).
I'm so grateful to Tara and her team.

hotos of what I was envisioning for my big day, and they just "got it" and executed it flawlessly! Tara and her team worked quickly and efficiently all while making sure that everyone looked absolutely flawless and felt comfortable and beautiful. I wanted more ethereal looks that looked effortless and natural, and all of my girls (myself included) looked perfect. They worked with everyone's hair types to ensure a look that would last through the night and while everyone's look was a bit different (which I wanted) they blended together with ease. They were sensitive to skin and hair types and also kept the bridal party smiling and laughing while doing their craft! I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone to beautiful you and your ladies for anything!
