Tasia's Tailoring and Bridal

st I had recommended three seamstresses one of which was Tasia. I decided to go with Tasia because she was the closest to where I live and I figured if BDLHD recommended her amongst others she was reputable. I scheduled my first fitting for April 15. At my first appointment, Tasia & I discussed the dress alterations which was to take in the waist a little ,pull up shoulder straps and add cups so breast area would be more supported, hem up cleavage area and she suggested adding lace to the cleavage area .At the end of appointment Tasia informed me to schedule my second fitting which should be in 4-5 weeks. She didn’t mention how much the alterations would cost and I honestly forgot to ask due to my excitement. My 2nd fitting was for May 20th I received a call from Tasia receptionist the night before my 2nd fitting saying they needed to reschedule me because my dress wasn’t ready. I was told she wouldn’t be able to reschedule me until June 3rd. That was concerning since my wedding is on June 23rd .The times they had available wasn’t feasible since I was scheduled to work until late that day. So the only option they had was June 11th which was worse so I ended up keeping June 3rd appointment. Also while on the phone I asked the receptionist if she could give me a estimate or a ball park of how much my alterations was going to cost ,she said she had to ask Tasia. I was put on hold , then the receptionist came back and said she couldn’t tell me and Tasia would let me know at next appointment. I was so upset I ended up calling the shop Friday morning the day of canceled appointment and was able to talk to Tasia ,I expressed my concerns she told me to come in May 27th between 4:30-5:00. While on the phone I asked Tasia how much was the alterations going to be and she claimed she couldn’t tell me. I also mentioned to her I noticed on pink sheet she added a bustle I told her I didn’t want it & she said no problem honey . May 27th I went to Tasia shop at 4:30 ish I saw my dress for the first time in 6 weeks and nothing we discussed was done to the dress. She claimed to have taken up the straps but it didn’t look or feel like it, she did add in the cups although the cleavage area wasn’t hemmed up nor was the lace added that she suggested ,the waist wasn’t taken in and she added two buttons to the back of the dress which she said was the bustle. I was disappointed but I remained optimistic. Tasia and I discussed once again what needed to be done to the dress this go around. We talked about bringing up the strap area, removing the cups because it didn’t look right, hemming up the cleavage area and hemming the bottom of the dress a little also adding my belt to waist. At the end of my fitting I asked Tasia the price, that’s when she said it wasn’t going to be cheap. When I got dressed and another upset customer left the shop. She reached into her files and got my invoice she told me she was charging me $1,500 for minor alterations. I was in shock especially since my dress only costed me $1,000. When I started questioning her as to why it was going to cost so much she then brought the price down to $850 saying she was doing me a favor .

I had my other daughters dress “tailored” at the same time, 2 spaghetti straps removed, and was charged $70 for the removal of the straps with a seam ripper. I was not given an estimate before the work being done otherwise I would have had the opportunity to say absolutely not, I will take it somewhere reasonably priced! I was not given the provided advertised prom discount. She took on way too much work and could not deliver when promised, she over charges and only takes cash. These are 17 year old seniors in high school, she took complete advantage of them having limited resources in town and should be ashamed of herself! Her assistant is rude and could not locate the dress when provided with the ticket name and number and her excuse was “tasia is very busy!”

I decided that I no longer liked my dress and wanted to wear something with long sleeves but loved everything else about my dress. Kate was able to create my dream dress with very little guidance from me. I did not know what I wanted the dress to look like but Kate was able to design and create my gown to perfection. The only thing I knew I wanted was for the sleeves to look like they were always part of the dress. The entire process of working with Kate was such a dream. I will be finding any excuse possible to go see my sweet friend. She treats everyone like they are family and only wants for her customers to be happy. She is fair, kind and so lovely. Her work is impeccable. She was also able to tailor my mothers dress and we both felt stunning. Thank you, Kate!

more in love with my dress (which I didn’t even think was possible!) Her first priority was making sure that I was in love with the results and continuously reassured me to be honest with her. With every appointment, she was always patient, kind and listened to I wanted, while offering her professional opinions - she really made me feel like we were working together. She never rushed me or made me feel like I couldn’t express myself her. You can just tell that Tasia loves what she does and takes customer satisfaction very seriously - she wants you to feel as beautiful as you can... and she absolutely delivers! It was such a pleasure to work with Tasia and because of her, I felt so amazing on my wedding day in the dress of my dreams! I can’t recommend her enough!

idea that my requests were actually quite diffcult until we started the process. But OMG did it come out PERFECTLY! Tasia is an extremely hard working woman and she knew exactly what she was doing. I wanted to get my dress done and out of the way a few months before the wedding, but she told me not to do it until I was in my "final body" because we would have to spend more time (and therefore more cost) on multiple revisions, and she helped me avoid that. I went in literally 10 days before my wedding and she had the entire thing done with 4 days to spare, with a few revisions and no complaints about what I asked and put all of her time and effort into getting it done in time. I could not have asked for a better tailor!! And she was so heartfelt and personal with me. She really cares. I just read all the other reviews on here and I can understand where people are coming from with the cost and the bustle breaking - my cost was high and my bustle broke too! But I do NOT blame the tailor in any way, shape or form!!! I have been to probably 15 weddings and the bustle has broken on almost all of the girls. Wedding dresses are heavy, we dance and move and it happens. I've seen it be the norm more than not. And she charges by the hour, so whatever the cost is comes from that. Most things I've gotten hemmed are at least $90-100, so I don't see why anyone would complain about hemming in that price range. I brought a $40 dress to a woman in Simsbury to be hemmed and the cost was $95. It just is what it is. I was in tears giving Tasia a hug goodbye because I knew how hard she worked on my dress and it came out better than I could have imagined and she deserved every penny. Long story short: Tasia is EXTREMELY skillful and you get what you pay for!! If you want a crappy job for less cost, go elsewhere. If you want a quality job from a hardworking female business owner who knows what she's doing and is a high end, skillful, I repeat SKILLFUL dressmaker, she's your girl!!

was thrilled! I had my dress hemmed, bustled, added cups and brought in the top a little bit - she did such a great job with all of it. My dress looks so much better than when I bought it (which I didn't think was possible!) and I would definitely recommend friends to Tasia's.

She took the time to show my mom and sister how to bustle my dress, so on the day of my wedding, they were able to do it without any issue. in my dress never fitting the way it should. The hem was uneven, she put in the wrong cups, and it never looked right. She also was rude and disrespectful. She stepped on my veil on purpose upon leaving when we tried to discuss some of the issues. Brides, stay away!!
