The building that would become Tavern on the Rail was constructed in 1837, a Nationally Registered Historical Landmark. During this time, the railroad was established between Doswell and Fredericks Hall. Melody restored this site in 2001, with her father's work helping the carpentry to stay as faithful to the original as possible.
