Had so much fun working with Taylor. The photos had the exact vibe I was going for which was light and classic. (Not sure if that’s the right term for it haha). Although I do have ...
a few regrets looking back over a year later. We’re printing photos for an album and looking back and it doesn’t feel like we captured the day and the emotions. I emphasized how important photos are for me and I’m sad I feel like we missed a lot. To start, Taylor was awesome and so friendly but the 2nd shooter was not. Even my husband had comments about her and he doesn’t care about much. It felt very rushed and she kept making comments at me in the morning. I would recommend asking your photographer who their 2nd shooter is before hand.
My first look with the bridesmaids has one girl completely covered for the initial reaction, and the rest of them I am half chopped from the photo. I wish they moved us outside for more room so everyone could fit in the photo. I am sad I couldn’t see everyone’s full face in one pic for that when we had a courtyard right next to us. I think having everyone in that photo should be standard and people could have been moved by the photographer to fit in the shot.
We had such a beautiful venue and i had so much inspo I shared beforehand which Taylor did catch, but I wish we had more pictures of us just standing and smiling with each other as I mentioned we didn’t care for the super posed wedding shots. Of course we love our posed photos, i just wish we had some smiling ones as well to see our faces and genuine smiles. We had so much to worry about as a couple it felt like I should have been calling the shots, but thought the photographer would do that for us as she told us she’d have all of the basic photos. I know it gets hectic but there’s so many photos delivered if 10 of the same pose, we could cut that in half and also have some smiling ones. This is such an important day and I emphasized how much we want these photos.
Lastly, we had a sheet for must have but bride and groom aren’t with each others parents seperate. This part felt rushed and they wanted to get it over with. I wrote down bride and family, groom and family, siblings, grandparents. From there I thought it would be known to get bride and groom with each family. It’s very sad as again we thought that would be a given - I guess noted for next time you have to write every single person not just bride and family. This still makes me sad to this day as we have close families and no photo of just us 4.
At the end of the day I am happy with some shots, but don’t feel I got my money worth. I would have paid more for someone who took the time to get what we wanted and not felt rushed to get through. I see so many couples with a classic smiling holding the bouquet and we don’t have that, again it’s over with but it’s so hard to look back.
I’m not one to complain but I want people to know the pros and cons of wedding photos and how it can affect you years after trying to look back.
Taylor was a great person to work with and photos were nice, but really wish we had more variety and some shots that I feel most photographers know to take without us asking. I even sent inspo before hand many times to make sure we got exactly, but it’s hard to see simple shots missed or people cut out or even missing when I feel that is their job.
At the end of the day it is what it is and we have many awesome shots, but I would do research if you are a photo person like me.
Taylor did absolutely wonderful on our engagement shoot! She is very kind and was understanding when we had to change times due to bad weather. The photos are beautiful and I will ...
cherish them forever.
