This shop has closed. We had booked them last June for our June 2020 wedding. We paid for our tasting and our deposit. On January 19th I received an email saying that they were closing on January 24th and that they could not do my cake. I have reached out to other brides in the area, and they are still going to make their cakes. I would just like my money back at this point, they took our money and gave us nothing in return. What a shame.
We were really pleased with our cupcakes for our wedding. We selected 4 flavors and the same design for all of the cupcakes and it looked amazing. I personally liked the chocolate ones the best. I also liked the carrot cake. My least favorite was the lemon lavender, but I think it was just to subtle for the big party setting. It was easy to order and pick up the cakes. They worked with my planner and I didn't have to worry about a thing.
Tee and Cakes made our wedding cake a few weeks ago and did a wonderful job. We ordered a small red velvet cake and then larger sheet cakes of the same flavor for our guests. They were very accommodating with some dietary requests, and made vegan and gluten free cupcakes in similAr flavors for our guests that couldn't eat the cake. It tasted great (the homemade buttercream icing was the best part!). They were wonderful and very easy to work with.
First - their cakes are delicious. All of our guests loved them, and we've been enjoying eating the leftovers (which we froze).
Unfortunately, they changed decorators (as other reviews mention), and Brianna is clearly REALLY new and inexperienced. It seems like she's screwing up a lot of weddings by getting the orders wrong, not understanding the decorating requests, etc. In our case, the cakes were all delicious, but not what we ordered. And, in one case, the baker made a pretty significant error in using un-strained raspberry filling, which ended up turning the cake itself into red mush. (which my mother insisted was tasty, but which didn't look very appetizing).
I'm still giving them 4-stars for one important reason: we reached out to the owners afterward, to give them the feedback that things had been screwed up. They were very responsive and helpful, and I truly believe they've realized they hired someone that needed more supervision than they initially thought. If you're looking for a baker for an upcoming wedding, I'd still consider them, but if Brianna is your contact - maybe check in with the owners to see how they're guaranteeing their quality standards.
Let me qualify this post with the fact that I love Tee and Cakes. It was my favorite bakery during college and was the way that I met my husband. It made sense to have them make our wedding cakes. Kaitlyn was AWESOME--- so sweet. Our tasting was wonderful and she took notes one what we wanted.
Then.... Tee and Cakes got a new pasty chef, Brianna. Not the friendliest lady in the world. When I asked to meet her to discuss our cakes to make sure things were still in order, she seemed annoyed and as though I was taking up her time (In my opinion, I shouldn't have even been the one who called for that meeting. If I were her, I would have reached out to all of the couples I was working with and asked if they would like to discuss their cakes with me and make sure that we are all on the same page). I brushed that meeting off though, still hoping for the best.
I asked for our wedding cakes to be simple smoothed buttercream--NOT fondant---and to have gold edible paint brushed along the top. I thought my odds were good with such simple cake designs.
Day of, two of our cakes were the same flavor. We didn't even get one of the flavors that we ordered. And they were not in the design I asked for. They looked like a cookies and cream cake style--- which was a flavor we asked for, but where was the white buttercream and gold?? If this was going to be an issue, Brianna should have let me know this at our meeting.
The two tiered cake that we ordered was white and gold but was made with fondant, which I specifically asked not to have and was not painted gold--- it was a yellowish gold? air brush and seriously looked like a tacky, toasted marsh mellow.
Given the fact that our 3 small cakes, were overpriced at $600, I am BEYOND disappointed. Should have gone with the other bakery we were considering. If I hadn't left on my honeymoon right away I would have asked for a partial refund.
I had scheduled a tasting 3 weeks in advance with Brianna. I had arrived at the appropriate time and date and they had forgotten about me. They then told me there was a mix up and scheduled me on another day, but could not tell me what day. I was only in town for 1 week, and scheduled all my time up. They wanted me to come back another time that was more convenient for them, but they were not very apologetic. I expected to get an email later with an apology or stating times I would be able to come back but could not. Very disappointed.
The cakes were reasonably priced and delicious! This vendor was very easy to work with as well! One cake was a little dry but all the others were a big hit! We had maple chocolate bacon (the dry one), butter cake with raspberry, and chocolate peanut butter stout (amazing!!!)
We used Tee and Cakes for our wedding cake/cupcake needs. We received tons of compliments on the taste/quality of our cupcakes! We did have some difficulty with communication throughout, possibly because the owners changed hands during process. I honestly would not change a thing and would highly recommend Tee and Cakes! Delicious!
We had a great experience with Tee and Cakes for our wedding cake. We had a great experience with our tasting and ended up picking flavors that we wouldn't have thought of to pick otherwise. It was definitely the best tasting wedding cake I've ever had! And it was beautiful and looked exactly like what we were hoping for. I would definitely recommend Tee and Cakes for a wedding cake!
They really worked with us, even when Kim was sick. We got rave reviews, and even saw a picture of our mini cupcake tower on the Tee & Cakes Facebook. We had butter cake, lemon sunshine cake, salted bourbon caramel, and red velvet. All were amazing!.
Our wedding was anything but traditional, so we decided to throw the cake out of the equation too. We chose to have Tee and Cakes do a dessert bar with macaroons (lavendar, champagne rasberry, and pistachio), mini cupcakes (cookies n' cream, hot cocoa, coke float), and lemon bars. Tee and Cakes was AWESOME. They by far make the most DELICOUS cupcake i've ever had, and who doesn't love a french macaroon (idiots, that's who). We chose to rent their cake stands and it went great, i gave them a few decorations to incorporate and and they made an awesome display with their own labels. The owner is super friendly and really cares about what she does.
We ordered way more than the recommended amount and the guests ate them up. Desserts were absolutely the highlight for some of the guests.
Tee & Cakes did a wonderful job on our wedding. We ordered a small cutting cake for our wedding party and cupcakes for the rest of our guests. They were able to make our cutting cake look like a birch tree slice. They have delicious and fun flavors which is why we decided on them. We had salted bourbon caramel, chocolate bacon, peanut butter stout, and carrot cupcakes at our wedding. All our guests loved them!
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about Tee & Cakes. From the initial consultation to the last cupcake eaten, we were just so impressed with them. Not only are their cupcakes and cake unique and delicious, their staff is professional and friendly. Emailing with Kim was so easy and she always answered in a timely manner.
We had a small cake along with cupcakes (Lemon Meringue, Cookies & Cream and Maple Chocolate Bacon) for our guests. Our cake was absolutely a dream and exactly what we wanted. Everyone was so impressed with the cupcakes and were talking about them the rest of the night. People couldn't get over how much they liked Maple Chocolate Bacon ;-)
I HIGHLY recommend Tee & Cakes for their value, service and deliciousness. You can't go wrong!
Wow. We had the most incredible experience with this business. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, the professionalism of the owners, and the quality of the baked goods.
We were set to get married the weekend of the majors floods in Colorado. Our weekend was turned upside down by the storms. Our ceremony and reception locations were unreachable, and we had to re-plan our wedding THE DAY BEFORE! We needed new venues, a new caterer, and a completely new plan. The only pre-planned thing that worked out . . . our wedding cakes. But, of course, not without a little bit of work.
We attempted to pick up our cakes from Tee & Cakes the day before the wedding, but closed roads and flooding kept us from getting them. So disappointing. But, that did not stop this wonderful small business from sticking with their end of the deal. Kim and Kate were true professionals. The cakes/pies/cupcakes were made, and they agreed to drive the baked goods to us if the roads opened.
On Saturday morning, I-25 opened for a few hours. In that time, one of their staff came in on his day off and drove our cakes up from Boulder to Fort Collins. They did not charge us a delivery fee, which was incredible given the extra work they had to do. The baked goods all arrived in perfect shape and in plenty of time for me to set up our dessert table. Each item was absolutely delicious. A family member from Manhattan even declared that the Coconut-vanilla bean cake was the best cake she'd had in her life! And, I personally, adored the Hostess cupcakes. :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all that you did for us. I am so impressed and only wish we still lived on the Front Range so that we could continue purchasing from Tee & Cakes. I HIGHLY recommend this bakery. Give them your business!
I recently was married in Rocky Mountain National Park and had a luncheon following at the Stanley Hotel. After reading about vendors local to Estes Park, we weren't excited about our options. I had heard about Tee and Cakes and we thought since this was a small event (only 14 people) that we wanted to make sure the cake was amazing.
Since I live out of state I couldn't come in for a tasting but the reviews of this place were so high on yelp and here, that I wasn't worried. We ended up choosing a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and smooth buttercream on the outside. I emailed back and forth with Kate and Kim (the two owners) to discuss size and decoration. We decided on a tiered cake, one 6 inch on bottom and a 4 inch on top, which was perfect to make it like a real wedding cake but appropriate for the amount of guests I had. We also really wanted to try the Bourbon chocolate cupcakes so we ordered two of those to have for our own treat later that night.
They delivered the cake the morning of our event to the Stanley Hotel from Boulder to Estes, for a reasonable delivery fee. The cake was lovely, perfectly smooth with a beautiful rose in icing on top, so classy. The cake was absolutely phenomenal, we only ended up with 2 extra slices and our family gladly took it with them. The cake was moist and flavorful and the icing was decadent and just incredible. We didn't save any cake for our 1 year (who really does that) but we decided we'll come back every year for cupcakes from Boulder for our anniversaries! The bourbon cupcakes were also to die for and we're glad we saved those as our treat on our wedding night too.
We used tea and cakes for our vintage inspired wedding. The made a cupcake tower for us with a cake topper for us to do the cake cutting. We also had a dessert bar with assorted tasty treats. Everything tasted wonderful and they were fun and easy to work with!
We had Tee & Cakes create all of our desserts for our June wedding in Boulder. I am not even sure what to write because it was all so perfect and easy so I guess I can say that! Kim and head pastry chef Kate where a dream to work with and read our minds as far as the display and creation. The only complaint we have is that our guests ate all of our dessert (including our little cake) before we even had the chance!! I think that's a good problem to have :) Luckily we got to have our favorite car bomb cupcakes before they were all gone. Thank you for being a part of our special day!
I had such a great experience with Tee & Cakes recently when I used them for our wedding cake/cupcakes! I had the opportunity to work directly with Kim and she was always responsible, professional, friendly, fun and creative! Their cupcakes sell themselves, but to have such a friendly staff just makes it that much more enjoyable. Their set up at the wedding was beautiful all the way down to the cupcake labels for each flavor. Every guest was raving about how incredibly delicious each flavor was and were comparing which ones they already tried! I wish I could get married again just to have an excuse to buy that many cupcakes again! :) I will definitely continue to use them for all of our upcoming celebrations!
We used Tee and Cakes for our wedding cake and cupakes. Everyone could not stop eating them!! We got mini cupcakes and we even had some left over!! Our cake was beautiful and so delicious!! Even though we only got one bite of it, I'm looking forward to our anniversary just so we can get more of it!! People kept asking for more and the cake itself was so beautiful and natural looking, which is exactly what we wanted. Amazing staff and so helpful!! This place is the best!!
Tee and Cakes was so delicious with original available flavors. We had a 3 tiered cake, and Buttercake (yellow cake), Coca-Cola, and Cookies and Cream. I just had to have one unconventional flavor and the coke flavored cake was so delicious. Yum! We also had a few guests that needed some gluten free deserts so we had a side of a dozen cake pops that were gluten free too! The did an awesome job mimicing my inspiration idea and making it their own, no cracks in the fondant, colors were consistent and just so beautiful. It was also nice that they didn't charge extra for not doing a round cake, it was square and it turned a beautiful. If only I lived closer to Boulder then I would visit the bakery more often for fun!
Being an out of town bride, I thought it would be difficult to find someone to make my cake just how I wanted. I picked Tee & Cakes originally because of their cute and up to date website...then I talked to Kim and she was sooo sweet and nice. I was sold. Our cake was one of my favorite things on our wedding and people are still talking about how yummy it was and they wished they had some now haha. It was chocolate espresso! YUUUUMMMY :) Thanks Tee & Cakes. Looking forward to our 1 year anniversary for round two ;)
Great cake, we had a rum and eggnog cake at our winter wedding. This is the place to go if you want something out of the ordinary.
I "gifted" a very special bride and groom with their wedding cake and groom's cake. Tee and Cakes did an amazing 4 tiered wedding cake, each layer a different flavor, with buttercream and fresh flowers. The groom's "cake" was actually a wonderful setup of all different types of cupcakes. Not only were these stunningly beautiful, but tasted great. The cakes were delivered to a wedding site in the mountains, set up beautifully (in spite of the florist not bringing the cake flowers, some magically appeared working perfectly!) I am a caterer, and would strongly recommend Tee and Cakes, without hesitation.
Kim at Tee & Cakes was such a great choice. We did a two tier cake for cutting and a variety of mini cupcakes. Everyone got to have what they wanted! It was perfect!
