Teocali was established in August 2006. We are centrally located in Kansas City in the Crown Center District. The restaurant is a vision of Enrique Gutierrez & his mother Chela Gutierrez. At Teocali we want to bring truly authentic Mexican cuisine to the Kansas City area. Many times authentic Mexican recipes are changed in the United States to entice a wider customer base. However, at Teocali, we use the same recipes that have been in our family for generations. Our recipes are authentic to the state of Jalisco, which is centrally located in Mexico. Teocali is named after our small town, Teocaltiche, where we were born. In addition we offer seafood entrees with, tilapia and shrimp, as well as vegetarian meals.

Enrique and staff were great to work with! They catered our wedding and we did a chicken and beef taco bar, rice, beans, and chips/salsa/queso/guac for appetizers. Enrique went t...
o the venue the week before to make sure they had everything they'd need for the event, his staff arrived on time, the food was never empty, and they even volunteered to serve our ice cream for dessert. They also helped clear tables when people were finished eating. We got lots of compliments on the food, especially the guacamole! If you're looking for Mexican food, Teocali is the way to go!
