Credit where credit is due: Teresa is wonderful to work with. She is clearly passionate about what she does, and her customer service is fantastic. Prompt communication was not a problem. We hired this bakery for our wedding, and we had a huge order: multiple kinds of pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls, two tiered cakes, and cheesecake cups. The star of the show was definitely the pies. So many compliments all night long, and we are very happy with how those turned out. The cookies, cheesecake, and cinnamon rolls were yummy too. Unfortunately, while both cakes tasted good, we ordered a coffee flavored cake and received a chocolate cake. That was a huge bummer. The top tier of the chocolate cake was also leaning to one side, and we had to ask the caterers to cut it early to avoid it falling over. On our almond cake, we ordered a terracotta-colored buttercream and received a very bright, tropical orange buttercream. Not a huge deal, but it did stick out among out decorations. If I could go back, I would have ordered very simple white frosting. Maybe it was just an off day. I think Teresa is talented, but the cakes just didn't meet our expectations. It is what it is.

Jess, I am sorry for not producing the terracotta color as you requested, the color has a wide range and I bought a terracotta coloring, I should have asked for a color swatch and for that I am truly sorry. I am also sorry that the top tier on ...

one of your cakes started sinking, I had supports in the tier, I know that the warm weather wasn't any help, so with that I will add more supports in the future so that I don't have this happen again. I am pleased that you were happy with everything else. I aimed for 100% and fell short and very grateful for your honesty. I will use this information to get better and ask more questions. I wish you nothing but happiness in your future. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your wedding day.

The best cake we’ve ever had hands down. We’re not even big sweets people and I swear I think about that cake every day. Great communication from the owner and able to accommodate our wedding on a Sunday! If you’re able to use Tessa Mae’s, you will not be disappointed.

I am a self taught baker that enjoys bringing her clients ideas to reality. If you are looking for a baker that has a unique flair, then look no further. I love being creative, learning new techniques and making a showstopping piece of art for your wedding. If you have an idea, I will do everything possible to make it come to life. I will never mislead you and will keep you posted throughout the entire process. I know how important your wedding day is and the last thing I want you to worry about if your wedding cake. Once you reach out for information, I have some questions that I need answered from you so that I can accurately provide you with a quote. Once all the details are worked out, everything will be written out and finalized with signatures. A 50% deposit is required to Save the Date for your wedding desserts then the remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to the big day. I will lay everything out and all questions will be answered, I will communicate with you throughout and I'm always available to answer any new questions or concerns that may come up on your end. I have lived most of my life in Northern Michigan. I currently live in Charlevoix, MI where my home bakery is based out of. I am happily married, together we have 6 children and 4 grandchildren.
