The 173 Carlyle House was the absolute perfect venue for our special day. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception there with almost 200 guests, and their venue space and staff accommodated for us exceptionally well! My favorite thing about the Carlyle House is its flexibility and the ability to personalize decor and details for your event, as well as it's reasonable and extremely affordable pricing. Throughout the entire planning process (only 4 months), Gerise was helpful, responsive, and offered her expertise and support whenever needed. I had multiple meetings, calls, and walkthroughs to plan and finalize everything, and she was more than accommodating each time I reached out. The house itself is classy, elegant, and charming, which is exactly what I was envisioning for our wedding. The staff and catering were wonderful and we received many compliments from our guests on their service. I hope we have another reason to use them again in the future! We had a wonderful experience working with Gerise at the 173 Carlyle House for our daughter’s wedding. The facility is absolutely beautiful, they had their ceremony and cocktail hour outside and reception buffet and dancing in the ballroom. Gerise is so helpful in answering questions by nervous parents and the wedding couple. I really appreciate how she never tries to upsell and shares her experience on what is “worth” it vs what may be extraneous. The fried chicken, biscuits and mashed potato bar all got lots of compliments too.

I can't say enough good things about the Carlyle House! It was perfect for our 150-person May wedding. They were, without a doubt, my favorite vendor to work with. The year leading up to the wedding, Gerise answered every single email and question I had promptly. You'll find during the wedding planning process that that kind of prompt communication is incredibly rare. They're incredibly experienced, so if you have any sort of off-the-wall idea, they've done a wedding like that before and can send you a layout and ideas around that. Weddings are expensive, and while we still spent more than we hoped originally, it's so great they don't try to price gouge you every step of the way like some places. Day of, we were treated very luxuriously, there were plates made up for the groom and I from the buffet line and cocktail hour by their staff, and our families felt well taken care of as well. We were able to be pretty minimal on the decor, too, as the venue is so beautiful, and there are beautiful photo opportunities everywhere. A lot of chairs and linens are included which will also save you money. The weather was touch and go day of our wedding, and apparently they kept moving the ceremony back and forth outdoors to indoors back to outdoors unbeknownst to me as the rain kept stopping and starting, which was incredibly nice of them, and we were ultimately able to get married outdoors! The paved terrace is wonderful for outdoor ceremonies since it dries quickly. They also allowed us to come a little early for photos without charge, because the rain was going to ruin our plans for photos at the park. We LOVED the fried chicken, and the shrimp and grits martini station in particular, and the charcuterie and hummus spreads were gorgeous during cocktail hour. Our bartenders followed us instructions perfectly for our signature cocktails and garnished them beautifully. If your friends are degenerates like mine, be sure to ask the bartenders not to allow shots--unlike a lot of other event venues, they'll allow it and it probably put a few of our guests over the edge by the end of the night! The stories were hilarious though so many thanks to the Carlyle House for helping us throw the beautiful ceremony and the raging reception I dreamed of!

There are not enough ways for me to praise Gerise and Carlyle House! From the moment we booked 6 months out, Gerise answered every email and phone call, guided us with food and beverage so we'd have the right mix and amount, and worked so smoothly with all our vendors. Not to mention how attentive she was to us, the bride and groom, during our reception. She anticipated every need and helped our night shine! The venue was beautiful and it was exactly the vibe we were going for. We got SO many compliments that it was the best wedding food our guests had ever had, and their favorite party ever! Had a wonderful time setting up my daughter's wedding at The 173 Carlyle House in Norcross Atlanta. Carlyle house service and support was excellent and beyond expectation; I could not have asked for more: - Allowing us to come in early to setup the hall and then jumping in to help us - Allowing the rehearsal to start late so that the wedding party could help - Searching and finding pins when the tablecloth clips that I had brought could not work on some of the tables - Allowing us to come early on Friday to set up the arch outside - Your grounds maintenance person jumping in to help us when the wind blew down the arch. This was after we had built the arch, had packed up everything and was about to leave. - Searching and finding pins when the boutonnieres were delivered without pins - Being very understanding when we ended up starting the wedding late because we had to rebuild the arch after it had been blown down. The Grace that was showed to us had an immense effect on stabilizing our stress level in the midst of all that was happening. In addition to all of the above, our compliments to the chef on a delicious meal. We received multiple feedback on how tasty the food was. In fact, some guests asked about the possibility of going back for seconds. Our thanks also to the servers, at the bar and for appetizers, as well as your kitchen staff.

They were so easy to work with and the staff was very professional. We couldnt have been happier with the venue and service. The Carlyle House was more than amazing!!! From the very beginning, Gerise had amazing communication. Anytime I called or emailed she gave a prompt response. Anytime I needed to come and see the venue, or bring someone to measure an area, they were always willing to help. The Carlyle house was also extremely affordable compared to other venues in the Atlanta area. Overall, you can’t beat the price for the location, and space. The food was amazing as well. All of our guests complimented the food. The bridal suite was beautiful and spacious. Perfect for a photo session! Overall, we loved this venue and I highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience here. We only had about 2 months to prepare a wedding reception and Carlyle House managed to get us on the schedule, worked with us to get exactly what we needed, and was unbelievably helpful throughout the whole process. The venue is gorgeous, the food was great, the pricing was completely reasonable, and the people were kind, attentive, and helpful. Our reception was perfect and went off without a hitch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Aesthetically, nice venue but I was charged a different price for the beverage package, from what I was proposed upon signing the agreement. Long story short, when brought to Gerise, the venue’s manager, attention, her response was sorry there’s nothing she can do about it, but we are crediting you back for the unused alcohol. This was not a favor to me as that was part of the agreement. The venue manager also tried to justify by stating, she gave us extra time to set up before and the day of, but she was the one pushing us to stay longer and set-up after rehearsal so that her or staff would not have to partake in the set-up; although it was part of their responsibility, since I paid a $500 coordinator fee. In addition, I opt for the sit-down dinner, and I was told around February that my guests had to pre-select their meals; months after my invitations were already sent out. It seemed deceitful to be informed of this, 3 months before my wedding. Not to mention her condescending manner and bleak attitude. It has taken so much to muster the courage to write this review, as it saddens me every time when I think about how things panned out with The Carlyle House.

We accommodated your request to add the mixers package after the 3 week deadline. We sent you the updated menu form immediately upon this change. 2. We informed you about the credit for beer/wine as we do not charge for unconsumed beer and wine. 3. We accommodated your request to allow the vendors to come the day before the wedding up until the rehearsal time. Which allowed extra access from 12:00-5:00. 4. Our staff helped your outside vendors and went above and beyond their duties. Your vendors especially your wedding planner were very appreciative. 5. We completed the first menu planning on 11-12-22, please see the first planning menu below. Emilie and Jeremy - Wedding April 2, 2022 173 Carlyle House We hosted our daughter's wedding on April 2nd at 173 Carlyle House and wanted to share the wonderful experience we had ! Stepping onto the beautiful grounds, canopied by 100 year old Magnolia trees, you know immediately you are in for something special! The yellow and white cottage with wrap around porch opens into a sparkling, chandelier filled Ballroom. Glistening hardwood floors through out. Mouth watering aromas wafted out of the culinary state of the art kitchen. Award winning chef William Janousek was preparing the day's event menu on the morning we visited. This is one of the finest event destinations we found in the Atlanta area. And believe me- we looked! They feature multiple options for indoor, outdoor, intimate or large gatherings. Gerise Janousek met with us multiple times to help guide us as we planned the Wedding. She is knowledgeable and has years of experience in event planning. This has resulted in a great and long standing reputation for excellence. Some pluses that checked the box for us : The 173 Carlyle House provides all tables, chiavari dining chairs, linens, dishes, flatware, bar & glassware, dining glassware and staff. The menu is custom so Emilie and Jeremy were able to select the items they wanted and then we selected wine and beer for the Menu . We loved that we were allowed to bring our own Liquors and hard spirits in for the bar! Emilie and Jeremy were married in the ballroom, then moved to the cottage and lawn for cocktails, the ballroom was set for dinner and dancing next. Dinner was wonderful, the staff perfectly attentive. The bride and groom looked so happy and beautiful as they danced the first dance under the crystal chandeliers. The dance floor filled up and everyone had an incredible fun night! Thank you Gerise and the team at 173 Carlyle House for making this Wedding everything Emilie and Jeremy dreamed of!

We had our wedding ceremony at The 173 Carlyle House on April 23, 2022 and it was simply amazing. Gerise was so helpful from the first day we met her an we instantly knew that we wanted to work with her and the team at that moment. My guests really enjoyed the layout of the venue, cocktail hour, food & service. I was so impressed with how friendly the staff were, they even helped my groomsmen fix our bowtie situation we were having prior to the ceremony lol. I'm appreciative of the great time we had at this venue, and I will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

My son and his wife had their wedding ceremony and reception at the Carlyle House April 2, 2022. I was very impressed by the way Gerise, (the event specialist) and the staff worked to expedite the wedding. They do literally anything and everything in order to make your event beautiful, fun, and wonderful! Dealing with personalities when working with the public can be exhausting, but Gersie is a true professional and stays focused and continues to get the job done without faulter. I would recommend the Carlyle House; they are truly there to make your event a wonderful success!

I can't say enough about how AMAZING this venue was! From start to finish our experience was TOP-NOTCH. Gerise was helpful, professional, and just all-around awesome! She guided us every step of the way, made sure we had all of our questions answered and handled the big day with precision and perfection! The venue itself is GORGEOUS. It was the perfect space for our reception and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The prices are the BEST around! The venue is privately owned and it shows in their pride in their work and the employees. The food was actually AMAZING. All of our guests were so happy and left with full bellies! We loved the flexibility of being able to supply our own liquor for the bar, bringing in our own DJ and photographer. We chose to get our cake from the venue and we LOVED it! All around amazing experience! I am sad it is over and will try to find another event in the future to utilize this space and service because it was just that great! My husband and I threw our baby shower (Indian/American fusion) at the Carlyle House this past weekend (August 2021). What an amazing experience! The staff are super helpful and friendly. The venue is gorgeous and meets all the needs for a successful event (kitchen, bar, seating, indoor/outdoor space, etc.). While our event was not technically a wedding, this would be the perfect place to hold one based on our experience with our event. We had room for a buffet, DJ, cake table, guest tables (seating 100+), bar, outside photo booth, and large backdrop decorations. Highly recommend! Thanks Carlyle House!

This is an Affordable and Attractive venue with an Attentive coordinator! While you may find other venues that are lovely they will all be missing the "Gerise" factor! - She was upfront and honest on pricing. - She took our needs for a totally gluten and dairy free menu VERY seriously. - She answered emails and phone calls promptly and allowed multiple visits to the venue to visualize and try out items in the space. - Other vendors raved about her and the culture of the venue as well. We had around 170 guest. We filled up the ballroom but with the space of the house and the beautiful yard and patio people had plenty of places to mingle and visit. 173 Carlyle is a great value and much of that value is because of Gerise! It was great to know we could depend on her.

The wedding ceremony was held at Perimeter Church, but the rehearsal dinner and welcome party and the wedding reception were all at the lovely 173 Carlyle House. Everything went off wonderfully! The grounds were beautiful and the food delicious. Gerise and her staff are great to work with and take care of the details so that you can enjoy your guests. My son is celiac and has other dietary restrictions and Gerise and staff went the extra mile to provide a safe and delicious food experience for him and all of the guests!! As the parents of the groom, we hosted a welcome party for all out of town guests following the rehearsal dinner. Everyone had such a good time!! I would not have changed a thing about the evening. It was lovely in every way!

We had our wedding reception at The 173 Carlyle House on March 27, 2021. Words cannot describe how absolutely AMAZING everything was! Working with Gerise was a breeze and she made everything so easy for us. I don't think most wedding food is good, but the food was unbelievable- we are still getting compliments on how good the food was! The bartenders were great and handled our party of 225 no problem! The bourbon bar was a HUGE hit. Everything at The 173 Carlyle House was so immaculately clean and beautiful. Everything was better than we ever could've imagined. The location was perfect for taking pictures in Downtown Norcross and Lillian Webb Park. We have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, the staff, and the food. We will never forget how unbelievable March 27, 2021 was thanks to The 173 Carlyle House! We will recommend The 173 Carlyle House to everyone!

My daughter's wedding at the Carlyle House was absolutely a dream come true. We owe this to Gerise. She is the sweetest, most caring person you will ever meet. No detail is too big or too small for her and she takes a personal interest in everything you do. She was there every step of the way and responds so quickly to any questions you may have. She is honest and caring from beginning to end. The venue is beautiful inside and outside. The staff are amazing. The food is delicious. The Carlyle House did a great job for my son's rehearsal dinner! Gerise was super flexible and easy to work with and made sure every detail was taken care of. She really helped take the stress off me during planning and on the day of the dinner. The food was delicious and they have a beautiful venue that lends itself to both indoor and outdoor functions. The staff at the Carlyle House were so warm and kind, and exceptionally flexible to work with. They made scheduling and planning the event so easy and the day of the event was extremely smooth! The 173 Caryle House made our wedding dreams come true! We hosted both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at the 173 Carlyle House and felt as if it was ¨our house" for the entire weekend. Gerise and her staff were incredible! The 173 Caryle House is a charming location nestled right into the heart of downtown Norcross. We were also able to take incredible pictures all around this beautiful community. Our guests also loved venturing into the downtown area throughout the wedding weekend! January 4,2020- Gerise and the Carlyle House gave our daughter the wedding of her dreams. The food was amazing and the service was unbelievable. The Carlyle House was incredible for our November wedding! The setting was exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding with the charm of the Old House and the beautiful front porch. We had our ceremony outside and I've been getting so many comments on how beautiful it was with the Fall leaves in the background. Gerise was there throughout the months leading up to answer any questions we had and provide us with the best advice. She was extremely helpful in making sure everything was set up just how we wanted it for the day of. The food was absolutely amazing; our guests raved about it (especially the southern grits bar). It was so convenient that everything was made right in house, so we never needed to worry about finding a caterer. Same with the cake, which my husband and I are still talking about. I could not recommend the 173 Carlyle House enough to anyone looking for a beautiful venue filled with classic charm!

Kate’s Wedding My daughter married in 2007 to a nice guy had a son and was pregnant with their second child when tragedy struck in 2014 and her husband died. She was very lucky and met someone and was married for the second time September 2019. The entire wedding was unique because 6 children participated in the ceremony. The ceremony and reception all were held at the Carlyle House of Norcross. The plans were made, menus selected and ceremony when off without a “hitch”. The facility which is just south of the historic village of Norcross, the setting is like a plantation on a hill overlooking this beautiful park. The Event hall is large, spacious and well-appointed and the air conditioning “really works”. The ceremony took place with the Bride, Groom, children and attendants dancing down the aisle. The Ceremony concluded and photo taking took place while guest nibbled on amazing hors d’oeuvre and cocktails. You have to have an event here just to try the bacon wrapped stuffed dates with blue cheese. The food was amazing and our guest loved the onsite preparation and quality. I later found out this is a family run organization and it shows. The entire event is managed by Gerise Janousek, the Event Coordinator who keep us on track during the rehearsal and wedding ceremony. Then a great cake cutting and dancing. What a perfect night for the start of my daughter’s Brady Bunch family. The event went off without any issues, people had fun and total focus was on the wedding not details of the wedding. The Carlyle House is excellently managed and is a great value in a wonderful setting convenient to Atlanta. JCv Atlanta

Gerise is the BEST coordinator! She helped with so much during the planning process, the rehearsal, and the day of. Everyone raved about the food - It was delicious! I honestly could not have imagined a better place to have our wedding. We loved every minute of it!

We booked the Carlyle House for our wedding ceremony and reception. And we are so glad that we did! In our search for an event space, we spoke to many venues and were met with distant, unhelpful and unspecific coordinators. But when we met with Gerise at the Carlyle House, she came to our first meeting with an itemized price list for everything we could want. She was very clear about the prices, she was helpful in every way that she could be, and she put up with all of my many questions throughout the nine months of planning a wedding. On top of that, the space itself is beautiful. We originally planned to have our ceremony outside in the gorgeous patio area, but our wedding day ended up being way too hot. So we decided to change it to inside their ballroom about 3 hours before the ceremony. Gerise was extremely helpful and made sure everything was taken care of without me having to stress about it. All of our guests complimented our food and cake. Everyone had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend the Carlyle House.

Where do I even begin?! Our wedding was absolutely wonderful! I knew from the moment I met Gerise that I could fully trust her and her staff. She made me feel so comfortable and she wasn’t trying to upcharge on every little thing like most of the other reception venues. Gerise would allow me to come and see the house whenever I needed too, she answered on emails very promptly, and made sure everything went smoothly on our big day! We had over 250 guest and everyone fit very comfortably even with a 5 piece band and a huge dance floor! We tented the outside terrace which added a lot of character to that area. The house was absolutely stunning the day of the wedding. I would recommend this venue to any bride who wants a “southern” wedding. It was everything I had hoped and dreamed for!

Beautiful wedding venue with a hint of southern charm! Gerise was great from start to finish! Loved that the venue catered and provided the cake (if desired). I wanted a venue that had character and included everything from chairs to silverware to food and drinks. Menu options were great, a lot of variety. And For the price, it was well worth it, our wedding was everything I hoped for! Even in the rain!

The Carlyle House is simply perfect in every single way. My husband and I chose the venue because it seemed to suit our personalities -- it is formal, yet laidback, beautiful and cozy all at the same time. From the minute we toured the property with Gerise, we knew it was the perfect place for us! Gerise is wonderful and really truly helped us pull off the perfect day. The 173 Carlyle is the very first venue that I found online. While they have many pictures you can’t appreciate how big and lovely this venue is. We knew as soon as we walked into the Carlyle House and met Gerise that we found our place. The facility is Gorgeous and there are many rooms for guests to sit and relax and have drinks and food during the bridal photos. I loved the Bridal suite that allows the Bride and Brides Maids to have a quiet place to freshen up before the Ceremony. The Bride and Groom return to that suite for a few minutes to themselves after the Ceremony. The outdoor terrace provides a wonderful back drop for the ceremony. It rained on our date so we opted to move into the ballroom less than an hour before the wedding. This staff transformed the ballroom into a chapel in 15 minutes. The rain stopped later and we moved outside to the beautiful lit terrace for more photos. Gerise assured me all along the way that everything would be perfect and she was absolutely correct. It’s clear they are experts at this. Chef Janousek and his staff provided an amazing assortment of dishes. The food was awesome! The Bride and Groom and our guests were delighted. I am so happy we chose the Carlyle House. Gerise and her staff are true professionals who operate with excellence and the pricing was surprisingly affordable. I would highly recommend The 173 Carlyle House. Thank you so much!!

We had our wedding at the Carlyle House. I was not satisfied with the customer service that we received or lack there of. Gerise asked me that day of rehearsal if I had a coordinator to decorate the hall. I told her no, and I’m out orevious conversations she explained to me that she would do it and all I had to do was label every container with the contents and where to put everything. Fast forward to my wedding day: I receive a phone call from my mother who went to the venue to make sure everything was done correctly. My mother explained to me that the boxes and containers that we brought to the venue had not been touched and they were still laying at the front door. As a bride, I should not have to worry if my decorations and the venue is going to be setup for my wedding. Gerise also disappeared in the middle of my reception and couldn’t be found for the rest of the night. Extremely I satisfied with the way we were treated and the lack of customer service on their end.

Shortly after I got engaged, I toured a good number of venues in the Atlanta area, and the Carlyle House & their staff surpassed all others from the start! The pressure and limitations that other venues put on you is non-existent at the Carlyle House. The Carlyle House helped me plan out every detail of our wedding and was so flexible and easy to work with. Being a bride without a wedding planner, there is so much that you are unaware of going into the planning process. Gerise at the Carlyle House helped with everything from creating a timeline to picking out the right DJ, Florist, Hotel, and Limo company for us. When our wedding day came around, it was an absolute dream. The staff made sure everything went smoothly and truly exceeded all expectations I ever had. The staff is exceptional, the food is so delicious, and the venue is truly stunning. My friends and family were truly amazed by our reception and could not stop complimenting it. The Carlyle House and their staff was a joy to work with and I would never have dreamt of using any other venue for our big day!

We wanted our daughter to have the fairytale wedding she dreamed of. Fortunately, we decided to have the wedding and the reception at the 173 Carlyle House in historic Norcross and we are very happy to say that everything went perfectly! The wedding ceremony was held on the Carlyle House’s beautiful, outdoor space where there are lots of large gorgeous trees and green space, along with a flat patio area for the wedding guests and the wedding party. The service was so lovely and then we moved indoors to the chandelier filled, beautiful, spacious rooms inside. The bridal room, the dining area, the dance floor, the set-up for the DJ…everything has been so well planned out! The service was perfect and always very professional! The food was absolutely delicious and looked as fantastic as it tasted! Chef Janousek prepared a perfect wedding meal and the cakes were perfect and tasted awesome! The quality of the food was outstanding -- everything was prepared perfectly! The food experience was another highlight of using this venue -- it tasted just like a 4-star restaurant and our guests raved about how delicious everything was! We especially want to mention the awesome Event Specialist Gerise Janousek. Gerise was a consummate professional, helping with the plans every step of the way and providing expert advice for everything involving the wedding. Things went so smoothly because of her incredible hard work and professionalism down to the smallest of details! The florist Maria and the DJ that Gerise recommended were awesome too! My husband and I were so relieved that Gerise was there every step of the way to patiently guide us and to make sure our daughter’s dream - a perfect, fairytale wedding came true! We are so happy for the happy couple and we are so happy we can so very highly recommend 173 Carlyle House!

We had our wedding here this past weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. Everyone warned me that no one has a perfect wedding and little details are bound to go wrong, but our ceremony and reception truly were perfect thanks to 173 Carlyle House. The venue itself can be very personal with plenty of space for decor and picture frames to give your event whatever look you want. There also were gorgeous places at the venue, downtown, and at the park nearby for our wedding photos and video. Everyone loved the southern food prepared by Chef William Janousek, and the acoustic guitar groom's cake turned out perfect. Gerise, the venue coordinator, assisted us throughout the entire planning process to ensure it was perfect. Because Carlyle House took care of everything for us we were able to relax and enjoy the wedding with our guests with nothing to do! We cannot say thank you to 173 Carlyle House enough for our perfect fairytale wedding!
