Located in Whitesboro, TX, The 1906 is a beautifully renovated church building and wedding venue. As the name suggests, the Church was originally constructed in 1906 to act as a pillar to the local community. In 2013, this stunning property underwent renovations in order to host modern gatherings and milestone events. The church still includes many of the original architectural features while featuring essential amenities that are required for twenty-first-century celebrations.
Upon walking into The 1906, you are created by restored stained glass windows, original tin ceiling tiles, and pine hardwood floors. This expansive and airy space can host magical ceremonies in front of 120 of your close friends and family. As you exchange vows on the altar, your guests can look on in comfort from the white-washed and grey pews. The church’s elegant neutral color scheme also allows you to add your own personal style to the proceedings. The basement of the church is known as The Union Lounge. This cozy setting includes two rooms for newlyweds and their entourages to relax and get ready before the big moment ahead. Here, you will have everything you need as you prepare to walk down the aisle. Adjacent to the sanctuary is a multi-functional reception area. Complete with hardwood flooring and a tin tile ceiling, this space can host unforgettable celebrations that run long into the night. This hall has ample space for seated guests, a dance floor, and entertainment if desired.
Once you’ve booked your big day at this venue, you can avail yourself of their range of helpful services. This can include the use of their professional sound system, television, venue serving fixtures, and the electric piano to play fitting melodies throughout. Tables and chairs for your reception can also be provided for further convenience. What’s more, you may also work with outside vendors to make sure that your wedding looks and runs exactly how you’ve always imagined it would.

The space itself is beautiful and has so much character—it created such a warm, romantic atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. Our guests kept commenting on how stunning the venue was and how smoothly everything flowed throughout the evening.
What really stood out was how supportive and organized the staff were. They made the entire process feel easy and stress-free, which allowed us to fully enjoy the celebration with our family and friends.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines charm, professionalism, and an amazing experience, I can’t recommend The 1906 enough. We’ll always have such special memories of getting married there.

emony with 75 people and that was perfect for this venue! It does get hot in the church because it’s older so if you’re doing a summer wedding think about fans for favors! However the owner and her staff were very accommodating, friendly, and always available for questions! The tables and linens were provided! They offer place settings for a small fee and require insurance for your event! They also only allow their bartender which was awesome as well! You can really tell that they want to do all they can to make sure everything goes smoothly. owners are the sweetest most down to earth people you will ever meet. It was raining on my wedding day and we wanted pictures in front of the church, however it was sprinkling. The owner himself was outside holding an umbrella and walking with me to make sure my dress did not get wet, or my hair or make up got messed up. He would hold the umbrella over me while we were getting in the right position and then remove it for the pictures. He was also leaf blowing the steps to make sure there were no rain puddles that I would step in.
The wife of the owner was so helpful as well. She went out of her way to help the groom and groomsmen put their boutonnières and ties on correctly. They both made the day go by so smoothly for me and even kept me hydrated throughout the day! I don’t think I would have made it through without them.
Everyone person I encountered was absolutely amazing from the day I toured the venue to the day of the wedding. The communication and customer service throughout the whole process was great. They made us feel like we were part of their own family. I would 1000/10 recommend this place to anyone!
