About this vendor
Located in Whitesboro, TX, The 1906 is a beautifully renovated church building and wedding venue. As the name suggests, the Church was originally constructed in 1906 to act as a pillar to the local community. In 2013, this stunning property underwent renovations in order to host modern gatherings and milestone events. The church still includes many of the original architectural features while featuring essential amenities that are required for twenty-first-century celebrations.

This expansive and airy space can host magical ceremonies in front of 120 of your close friends and family. As you exchange vows on the altar, your guests can look on in comfort from the white-washed and grey pews. The church’s elegant neutral color scheme also allows you to add your own personal style to the proceedings. The basement of the church is known as The Union Lounge. This cozy setting includes two rooms for newlyweds and their entourages to relax and get ready before the big moment ahead. Here, you will have everything you need as you prepare to walk down the aisle. Adjacent to the sanctuary is a multi-functional reception area. Complete with hardwood flooring and a tin tile ceiling, this space can host unforgettable celebrations that run long into the night. This hall has ample space for seated guests, a dance floor, and entertainment if desired.

venue is gorgeous and really brought our vision to life. Our day of venue attendant Gina was also a rockstar! She was so kind and helpful in so many ways. The day would not have gone smoothly without her. Not only is it a beautiful venue, but the staff at the 1906 truly care about their couples. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in the DFW area.
The 1906 in Whitesboro is truly a gem. Valerie, the venue manager, was absolutely the best!! so knowledgeable, supportive, and incredibly helpful as we planned my nephew’s wedding....
This was my first time planning a wedding, and she sent me so many thoughtful suggestions I never would have considered. I’m so grateful for her guidance.
And then there’s Gina, our day‑of coordinator. Drop the mic!! she is EXCEPTIONAL at what she does. Every detail was handled flawlessly. Nothing was missed. She even helped the bride with her bustle like a true expert. If Gina is there, you don’t have to worry about a thing.
The venue itself is breathtaking, full of history and charm. One of the best parts is that everything is in one place ! The chapel for the ceremony and the reception space right behind it. It makes the entire day seamless and stress‑free. The team makes the experience easy, affordable, and absolutely beautiful from start to finish. Thank you !
I highly recommend this venue to anyone. There are also plenty of affordable Airbnb's nearby, and the small‑town vibe of Whitesboro is so welcoming. It’s about two hours from DFW, but absolutely worth the trip.

ng! When booking I 100% recommend using their wedding coordination package as well as Valerie helped our day run as a well oiled machine! We were able to drop off decor and go about our day while she handled everything else! She brought our wedding dreams to life and any time I turned around needing something she had already taken care of it. We had personalized notes for each guest that she double and triple checked to ensure was sat at the correct seat for when our guest walked in! My photos won't load for some reason on this review but trust me was amazing

The space itself is beautiful and has so much character—it created such a warm, romantic atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. Our guests kept commenting on how stunning the venue was and how smoothly everything flowed throughout the evening.
What really stood out was how supportive and organized the staff were. They made the entire process feel easy and stress-free, which allowed us to fully enjoy the celebration with our family and friends.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines charm, professionalism, and an amazing experience, I can’t recommend The 1906 enough. We’ll always have such special memories of getting married there.

nication and was so supportive to me on our big day. It made the day so much easier and smoother to have a venue assistant and her joy and happiness for us was so contagious and definitely helped those involved have the same joy. Perfect value, the reception area is beautiful as well as the chapel itself, I fell in love with the stain glass windows.

emony with 75 people and that was perfect for this venue! It does get hot in the church because it’s older so if you’re doing a summer wedding think about fans for favors! However the owner and her staff were very accommodating, friendly, and always available for questions! The tables and linens were provided! They offer place settings for a small fee and require insurance for your event! They also only allow their bartender which was awesome as well! We had the best experience and would happily recommend them!

uld have made. Laura and the entire team at the 1906 worked to make our wedding the day of our dreams.
Tia was our day of coordinator at let me tell you she is a superhero. Not to mention the rest of the staff at the venue. You can really tell that they want to do all they can to make sure everything goes smoothly. It was important to us that we truly be able to enjoy our special day, and thanks to Laura, Tia, and the wonderful venue staff, we were able to do just that!
I also have not stopped hearing from our guests how much they loved the venue and how much fun was had. The 1906 truly is a special place.

e person who gave us a tour was the sweetest with answering all of our questions. The venue is beyond stunning, you feel like you are going back into time. The BEST part is that I didn’t have to invest money on decorations, they offered it. Plus the china wear that they have is beautiful. The communication process with everyone while planning to, the day of we’re great! Wish I could relive the day again because it went by so fast!
The 1906 is an absolute dream venue for a wedding! From the stain-glass windows, to the garden behind the church, to the ceremony space itself everything was picture perfect!

owners are the sweetest most down to earth people you will ever meet. It was raining on my wedding day and we wanted pictures in front of the church, however it was sprinkling. The owner himself was outside holding an umbrella and walking with me to make sure my dress did not get wet, or my hair or make up got messed up. He would hold the umbrella over me while we were getting in the right position and then remove it for the pictures. He was also leaf blowing the steps to make sure there were no rain puddles that I would step in.
The wife of the owner was so helpful as well. She went out of her way to help the groom and groomsmen put their boutonnières and ties on correctly. They both made the day go by so smoothly for me and even kept me hydrated throughout the day! I don’t think I would have made it through without them.
Everyone person I encountered was absolutely amazing from the day I toured the venue to the day of the wedding. The communication and customer service throughout the whole process was great. They made us feel like we were part of their own family. I would 1000/10 recommend this place to anyone!
