Wow, just wow! We looked at many venues in Charleston and surrounding area for a venue for my daughters wedding. When we found the Admirals House we were also suprised to find there was a chapel. It was all beautifully kept up.The decor in the house and surrounding ground on the river was every thing she was looking for. Whitney was amazing, patient and so helpful for a mom who was a little anxious about doing an event out of town. My daughter said :it was the best day of her life. "She put our minds at ease, alway helpful right up till the last minute. Whitney and her staff went above and beyond, everything was absolutely beautiful! Thank you!

The Admiral's House proved to be an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue for our traditional Gujarati Hindu wedding and formal evening reception in May 2023. From the stunning views of the Seattle city skyline to the onsite flora, including the beautiful blooming cherry blossom trees, the space exceeded our expectations in terms of natural beauty. The layout of the house and lawn also provided a perfect setting for our buffet tables, a sun room, a room nursing mothers, a natural ceremony space, and a tented dining and reception space.
What really sets the Admiral's House apart is its flexibility. Unlike many other venues in the Seattle area, we were able to customize the space to our cultural and personal needs and bring in our own vendors. This was essential for our traditional Hindu wedding ceremony which required a small contained fire, something that many other venues did not allow. We appreciated that the venue is a complete blank slate, allowing us to bring in culturally relevant foods and the vendors of our choice.
However, there are some things to consider when choosing the Admiral's House as a wedding venue. The venue has many rules and requirements, and there is a vendor fee of 12.5% of each vendor's total bill. Additionally, the venue only allows guests to use fancy portable restrooms outside the house, and the included shuttle service has limited hours that may not accommodate all events. Also, there is no onsite dumpster, this ends up being an inconvenience as you either have to remove trash yourself or hire a service to remove it for you.
Overall, we had a great experience with the Admiral's House and would recommend it for anyone looking for a beautiful and customizable wedding venue, as long as they are willing to work with the venue's rules and requirements. The staff, especially Bill, were supportive and communicative throughout the planning process, although some other staff members were less cordial on the day of the events.

Amy Heath & Whitney Engel helped seal the deal for us! We are obsessed with our venue.

Just want everyone to understand what this venue costs and what it provides…
The 2023 venue rates start at $22,900 plus vendor fees of 12.5% on the day of the event.
This gets you shuttle service up the hill, access to the house, and “bathrooms included.”
NOTHING ELSE IS INCLUDED.
This venue isn’t nice enough for Bill Gates and isn’t cheap enough for your middle manager at Amazon.

This venue is SPECTACULAR. My husband and I are both from Washington state but now live on the east coast. The Admiral’s House was the perfect mix of a beautiful, historic homes you can find on the east coast, set right on the water with incredible views of the city and Elliott Bay (to show off why Seattle is the BEST city in the country to our out-of-towners). Bill was really easy to work with and very responsive. It was definitely worth the investment – we couldn’t have been happier or had a better venue for a day that we will never forget.
