I can't say enough amazing things about The Alida Hotel. We had 3 weeks to find a new venue when our original venue closed unexpectedly. The staff at The Alida went out of their ...
way to make sure we were accommodated, paid great attention to detail, were very professional, friendly and easy to work with, and went above and beyond to make the quick turnaround event even better than I could have ever imagined!!!!!! They are simply amazing! From the bottom of my heart, I express great gratitude to Jessica Mathis (Event Manager), Rachel Matte (Banquet Manager), Creed Mixon (Banquet Captain), Frank Roith (Chef), Jordan Weeks & Jack Kenny (Bartenders), and Drayton Mixon (Server).
What an incredible property! We hosted our Welcome Event and some of our room block here and we heard nothing but incredible things! The hotel offers such a nice elevated feel whil...
e still feeling approachable. The location is perfect to explore and our welcome event on the rooftop was the perfect kick off to our wedding weekend. Our contacts Jessica and Lucas were incredible making the process from start to finish so easy! I work in the events industry and knowing they had everything covered made that weekend go so smoothly! 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality hotel, in a great location with incredible staff!
Our wedding at The Alida Hotel was an absolute dream! From start to finish, the entire staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. A huge shoutout to Jessica And her team ...
their attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care made all the difference. They anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure everything flowed seamlessly.
The venue itself is stunning, with the perfect blend of modern elegance and Southern charm. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the atmosphere, the service, and the incredible hospitality of the entire team.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that delivers top-tier service, breathtaking spaces, and an unforgettable experience, The Alida is the place to be. Thank you again to Jessica and the amazing staff for making our wedding truly magical!
Excellent location and beautiful venue for a wedding, particularly around the holidays. The space is already well-decorated but even more so in December. Our points of contact were...

The venue was beautiful. We opted for the rooftop which gave us an amazing view of the Savannah River and parts of the city. We had a lot of guests that had never visited Savannah and this was the perfect start to the weekend. Not to mention the location is right in the center of everything and our guests could easily walk down to River Street after.
The Alida also had the benefit of having multiple available rooms so we had a backup plan of moving the dinner indoors if the weather didn't cooperate. It gave us a lot of peace of mind leading up to the day.
The food was a great example of southern cuisine and we were excited to share that with our guests from different parts of the country. Everyone loved the dinner and the hospitality.
It was a perfect start to our wedding weekend and an evening we will never forget!

cess as easy as possible. The Alida Hotel would be my recommendation for anyone looking to get married in the Savannah area.
The Alida was top notch in communicating from my first interest in them. I was able to come tour the facility and upon touring I decided I would be willing to change my date to swi...
tch to a different room at the hotel for the experience. I always had questions and last minute changes (popped up pregnant few weeks before) Jessica was always willing to answer whatever concern I had and make any changes needed to make sure our wedding was the best it could be. The location, the services, the views and the food were highly commented on by my bridal party and guests attending. We were all so impressed. You should just say yes to The Alida!

e looking for. The planning was easy and stress free. The set up of the food stations and bar to the access of the outdoor patio were exactly as envisioned. There were nothing but compliments of the food and the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. A perfect kickoff for the bride and groom’s wedding weekend.
We had a Wedding Reception Cocktail Party with heavy appetizers and desserts for 30 people from 5-7pm in the Trade Room, and then opened it up to the other Wedding guests (addition...

ked with. Our quotes were incorrect, the hotel room blocks were incorrect, our invoice was doubled with incorrect information, this was easily the most difficult thing we dealt with during the planning of our wedding. We almost canceled twice to find another venue.
BUT, when Jessica Mathis came on to handle everything with us, everything went smooth as silk. She was very helpful and attentive and fixed all the issues we were dealing with. She was communicating with us regularly and we felt so much better with her. THANK YOU JESSICA!!
Our event at the rooftop was beautiful with the yurts and snow machine. Our guests absolutely loved it and were snapping pictures with all the decor. The only thing I would have changed would have been the amount of food we ordered. It was a bit on the pricey end so we saved some for the bar, but many guests didn't get any passed hors d'oeuvres.
The hotel rooms themselves were lovely, comfortable, and clean. Guests seemed to enjoy the hotel rooms as well.
I would love to start off by saying I had an absolutely lovely wedding. The Alida is in an incredible location, the details of the hotel are beautiful and directly how I envisioned...
my and my husband’s special day... I did not have the same experience with the staff at this hotel. I got complaints from 4 different guests directly saying hotel event coordinator was rude and had an attitude, as well as the girls working the front desk.
The Alida charges $50/night for valet. A family member’s car that was parked overnight by valet on our wedding night, was broken into and had a bunch of things stolen. Valet said they forgot to lock the doors. Numerous guests that had parked in the valet also got notifications from their phones saying their car was left unlocked and locked them remotely.
Our wedding was a destination for most of our guests, so we had 35 guests stay in the room block hosted at the Alida (22 rooms total) and welcome bags that we were encouraged to bring by the Alida’s event coordinator. The day before our wedding, I brought the bags to the girls at the front desk to be told that it would be a $2.50 charge per bag, after the first 10 bags. We were never made aware of this extra charge prior.
All of that being said, the space is truly beautiful and I will never forget my wedding… But do your research and keep receipts/all quoted prices.
We hosted our daughter's wedding welcome party at the Lost Square rooftop bar of the Alida on 9/1/23. What a fabulous experience! The venue and the views are so beautiful that we...

n May 2023. I knew it was going to be beautiful after my experiences at Alida previously...but it was far more than I ever could have anticipated. The process of selecting our menu and planning our event could not have been easier, the communication was always timely (they were one of our ONLY wedding vendors that we could trust would ALWAYS respond when they said they would) and the event itself was above and beyond what we imagined. The team at Alida worked so hard to make sure every detail was beautiful, the food was out of this world and they even went as far as to help consolidate our belongings afterwards and ensure guests were where they were supposed to be. From views to food to service to decor...we can't recommend Alida enough!
Amazing venue and even better staff!!! I could not have asked for anything better. Thank you all so much for everything!
We used The Alida Hotel as our hotel for our wedding weekend and they were more than amazing! We had a 50 guest room block and they were so on-top of helping keep up with the rooms...
. We also used them for our Rehearsal Dinner and Bridal Shower venue in the Harper Gallery Rooftop, which was absolutely gorgeous for both events! There was about two hours in-between these events and they completely transformed the room to look like two different places. Jessica, Ryan, and the Alida team were so easy to work with and helpful in coordinating the events, checking in ourselves and the guests, and any need that popped up while we were there. Jessica made sure to stay in communication with us leading up to the weekend and while we there. I could not recommend them enough for events, as well as a hotel overall-- we will never stay anywhere else when we come to Savannah!

r our guests and their rooms, Jessica was EXTREMELY responsive and helpful when it came to catering for our Welcome Reception, even helped us when we wanted to adjust the end time the day before. My fiancé (now husband) and I were able to check in early and had a bottle of champagne and some Chocolate Covered Strawberries waiting for us in our room. The rooms were quiet and the Hotel was also super accommodating for our dogs who traveled with us. I would recommend a stay or any event at The Alida and their team to anyone. Thank you all again for such an amazing and memorable stay!

as taken care of promptly. The food was awesome and many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We rented the entire space on the rooftop (including the bar). We highly recommend this because it was great to have the reception and dance floor in that area. We had a wonderful, memorable wedding day at the Alida!
Huge change in level of service with Ellie’s departure. She was AMAZING. Her replacement never once took the time to introduce herself to us prior to our wedding, even when we were...
at the hotel a half a week prior. The food was terrible, my own grandfather said it was better fit for a trash can. The servers were fantastic until “the replacement” showed up and stopped the party. All I can say is, maybe it was a great place to be married a year ago under Ellie’s stewardship, however, brides beware now. Major disappointment if it weren’t for the other amazing vendors we had. They forgot our signature drink (included in the package), and when I requested information on where to find my left over desserts for our after party - not a single person was willing to help me. Also! We were told our suite would be refreshed prior to us returning, and it was in the state we left it in. Not even a made bed or a new towel. Literally the least amount of service, the bottle of champagne they left us on our wedding night had our names misspelled on the envelope and the wrong couple entirely on the note. I could go on, but I’ll stop so you believe this review.

rried on the rooftop of Harper's Terrace, ate dinner in Harper's Gallery, and had our reception in the Lost Square rooftop bar. We celebrated with our 46 closest friends and family and the space was absolutely gorgeous. We got so many compliments on the venue and food (we had a soft pretzel bar!) from our guests. I cannot recommend this venue and Ellie enough, she made our wedding such an easy and unique experience!
The Alida hotel and its team of experience creators are by far the greatest in history! When it comes to the hospitality industry and overall venue/wedding planning experience they...
are truly unmatched! This team of all stars is led by Ellie Tumlinson who knows how to make literal magic happen!
We booked the Alida 90 days out from our wedding. TO most, that would seem like not enough time to plan and coordinate everything that you might need to pull of an incredible event. But let me tell you, Ellie and the Alida staff (from the valet to serving staff) made that task seem like an easy afternoon stroll.
Every request we had was met with a resounding 'yes, we can do anything you want.' Ellie was so organized, responsive, and easy to get a hold of leading up to and during the event. Not to mention an absolute joy to be around and spend time with.
Just one example of how Ellie and the Alida team take care of you like you're family: "THE SPRITZ STORY!"
Our signature wedding cocktail was an Aperol Spritz. We arrived in Savannah the weekend before our wedding and when we visited various bars/restaurants around the city we were told they were out of Aperol and that there was a shortage of Aperol in the south east. Concerned, we reached out to Ellie the next day thinking that we would need to select another cocktail and her response was 'oh don't event worry, i've known about the shortage for weeks and we have been hoarding Aperol for the last month. Rest assured for your wedding, the Aperol will be flowing!"
The Alida hotel seems to fly under the radar and it is truly Savannah's hidden gem. THis hotel has everything for your guests, out of town and local alike: gorgeous decor and aesthetic, easy to get to, loaded with amenities, walkable to everything, and more. The rooftop venue and ballroom is a perfect place for weddings and receptions. They even allow pets to stay in the hotel and attend the event! We were able to have our dream wedding with our dog at the ceremony and reception. The venue is so beautiful on its own that we barely needed any decorations.
We held our welcome night at the lost square, the wedding ceremony and reception on the rooftop and ballroom, and the following day had a burger bar set up at the library bar by the pool followed by a pool party which the hotel loved!
The Alida should be your location of choice whether its a one night stay, birthday party, or wedding! Ask for Ellie and just know that you're in good hands.
We got married in Savannah Monday, June 21st. Given we live in Boston, we had to book everything remotely and most things, sight unseen! As you can imagine, there was a little ap...
prehension and nervousness around this!
To that end, we did a lot of online research to find the right venue for us. Given the pandemic, we decided to find a place with a private room. My husband came across the Rhett within the Alida and our experience was incredible!
We connected with Ellie Tumlinson who was super responsive! She was also very flexible and adaptable! We had so many questions and made several changes to the menu and the types of food we were looking for. We liked the items that were already on the menu, but we have dietary restrictions and preferences. I.e., no gluten, no cheese, no meat (fish and eggs are okay), etc. Pretty complicated, right? Yet, none of these flustered Ellie in the least! Not only did she work with us to make the changes, every single thing was right! I should also mention, I had requested a special champagne and she was able to get it. AND just a few days before the event, I emailed Ellie (totally last minute) with a special request for my husband. It wasn't something she had on hand, but nonetheless she was able to get it, no problem. When we arrived, it was chilled and beautifully presented on our table!
When we arrived for dinner, Rachel Matte greeted us. She was also fantastic! We felt like we had known her for years! She was so warm and we were immediately comfortable with her. Rachel has a really warm demeanor and is very professional. At all points, she had everything under control. It was fantastic! We didn't have to worry about a thing. Champagne was chilled and the glasses (we had dropped off Tiffany's flutes earlier in the weekend) were set! Everything looked beautiful and Rachel was on top of all of it.
One thing I will mention is when we arrived, we were late and starving, so my husband asked Rachel to put the apps in and get started with drinks. There was a spot around the corner, where we wanted to get more pictures. We ate and drank, left for more pics and then came back and Rachel had the entrees ready to go. Nothing flustered this woman and she didn't miss A BEAT!! So grateful for this!!!! Her timing was impeccable!!!
Lastly, the food was awesome and the room was so nice!!! We loved it. We hope to be visit again when we head back to Savannah for our one year anniversary trip!!

ion was amazing, and we got so many compliments from our guests! I strongly recommend adding a pretzel bar to the cocktail hour! It was impressive and DELICIOUS!! Everyone loved it and I received messages the day after from guests raving about it and wishing they could have more pretzels!
We hired Ellie as our coordinator, and I cannot express how wonderful she was! The entire weekend she was only a phone call or a text message away to handle any question or issue we had and to fix any potential crises as they came up. She was responsible for setting up the decor and she listened to everything I wanted to ensure it looked exactly as I envisioned. Seeing my plans become reality was the icing on the cake.
I strongly recommend the Alida for a ceremony and reception venue, and I especially suggest that brides hire Ellie as their day of coordinator! You will have no regrets!

r a complete Gluten free menu to accommodate me? I have Celiac and so that was a must , and all my guest was overwhelmed by how delicious the food was while staying all gluten free. Best decision we made was reaching out to Ellie and wouldn't change a thing. I can't say enough good things about them!
I cannot put into words how truly amazing Ellie and her team are. Throughout constant adjustments due to COVID, Ellie remained patient, helpful, and just so darn sweet.

was beautiful, the staff was spectacular, and the food and drinks were AMAZING. There isn't a single thing I would have changed.
Ellie is the best! We eloped on the rooftop with our parents and siblings and it was perfect. Ellie had thought of everything and was so on top of it that I was never stressed! Whe...
ther a mini ceremony or big rooftop wedding, I recommend the Alida. We had the best experience!!
I served as a day-of coordinator for a friend's wedding recently and cannot recommend the Alida highly enough!!!
Ellie and Rachel (and all the staff that I interacted with) were PE...
RFECT! Timely communications, cheery attitudes, and willing to do whatever to help with set up.
The rooftop space was perfect and there was a slight chance for rain, but the staff were excellent in helping calm everyone's nerves and immediately helping come up with backup plans.
Beautiful space, even more beautiful personalities! Just a gem of a weekend
We could have not pictured a more perfect day, we had a small, intimate wedding with just immediate family and a few friends.
We were lucky enough that the weather was beautiful...
and the roof location was perfect to celebrate with wonderful views, a great set up and decorated to perfection. Ellie at the Alida hotel was so professional and helpful. She doubled as my wedding planner and went above and beyond. She was in constant communication and after a few times talking, she new exactly what I wanted. She made a lot of my decoration and did all of my flowers- she nailed it. She made our wedding planning and day stress free. Ellie is very creative and amazing at what she does. The catering + hotel staff were all very friendly, professional and super helpful. We booked The Alida hotel sight unseen and could not have been more lucky. I highly recommend The Alida Hotel and their staff.
I honestly do not even know where to start with this review. Ellie and her team deserve more than 5 stars and my words could ever express how talented she is. My husband and I knew...
that we were going to have a small elopement/micro wedding but still wanted it to feel like a traditional wedding. Ellie from the start made me feel like everything I wanted could come true despite our wishes for a “chill brunch wedding”. She was transparent about pricing, extremely speedy with her replies and extremely accommodating to meeting with us on our last minute trips to Savannah so we could plan our layout and just go over details I had been thinking of. Ellie treated us like family! I truly don’t think I’d trust many people to take all the decor I had thrown into a box and put it together into our dream wedding brunch the morning of. She even rearranged the entire rooftop due to rain and left igloos set up for us which made for a cozy hangout spot for ourselves and our guests. I truly didn’t have to stress about one thing- everything was done for us and beautifully arranged. She was so thoughtful and helpful throughout the entire process. My husband and I keep saying “wow, I wish we could redo that entire day over again” and most of that we owe to Ellie and her team. If you are looking for a place to have a beautiful and stress free wedding, whether large and traditional or small and “relaxed” like ours- The Alida is your place! You will never regret it.
We had our small mini-mony at the Alida after several failed plans (yay-2020 wedding planning). The hotel is GORGEOUS and Ellie is super sweet and very responsive. She was quick to...
respond to my email about keeping the cake chilled at the hotel less than 24 hours from the ceremony. Our food was excellent and the bartenders were the sweetest on our day. Also, the rooftop bar has amazing drinks and the best view. They even went into our room to drop off a bottle of champagne and 2 champagne flute.
I will say there was a few hiccups, but the staff was always quick to respond and help out which is why I am giving them 5 stars still. The biggest hiccup was on the day of our checkout (the day after getting married). A member of the cleaning staff knocked on our door one time and immediately entered the room at 8 am. We didn't even have time to say anything before they opened the door. We felt extremely uncomfortable and super fortunate that we were both dressed and already awake. The cleaning woman came in to ask if we were ready to check out. I was stunned - if we were ready to check out we would have been down at the front desk checking out and we still had 3 hours. This has nothing to do with the Alida events team and I would never hold this against them - I just thought it was something I had to mention considering it was extremely uncomfortable.
We had stayed at the hotel 3 weeks before our wedding and stayed in a beautiful room with a daybed looking over the river and a vanity (which is perfect for a bride getting ready!). However, when we checked in for the wedding weekend we got stuck in probably one of their worst rooms. It was a corner room and was half of the size - which was a huge problem since we had a TON of stuff for the wedding, it had no day bed - so there was no room for my bridal party to get ready, and no vanity. I was super disappointed especially after staying there previously. However, my husband went down and asked if they were able to switch our room and they did promptly.
We were also supposed to have a staff member serve our shrimp and grits station - but we ended up not having anyone to serve. We weren't charged for the person and it would have honestly been unnecessary so we definitely weren't upset at all about it.
I can’t put into words how amazing my wedding was! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is very professional and helped me anytime I needed anything!
