This was my first trip to Atlanta, and I chose The American because of its location and price. I was certainly not disappointed. The ease of online check in and check out through the Hilton app is always wonderful, as is the digital key. Eve...
ryone I interacted with was professional, friendly, and very service oriented. My room was spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. Honestly, I wish that mid-century modern looked this good back in the '70s. I chose to eat in the hotel restaurant the first night because I came in very late. The menu does look somewhat limited, with a few appetizers, 3 salads, and 4 entrees but don't let that fool you. That night I had the pan seared salmon and it was delightful. I originally had plans to eat at another restaurant my second night there, but I opted for the hotel restaurant again and was again treated to an absolutely delicious dinner -- the rib eye this time. There is a buffet breakfast on the weekends and an a la carte breakfast during the week, both of which exceeded my already high expectations. The history of the hotel is a bonus and they have worked hard to recognize it. If I have another opportunity to go to Atlanta, I'll definitely be staying there again.

An overlooked gem.
Exceptional service from Renee, Eric, and Ten at the front desk. They are genuinely hospitable!
Feel the history in this historic boutique hotel, the first to be integrated in the South in 1962, where MLK stayed with his f...
amily.
Great location. Walk to many attractions.
Suggest skipping the breakfast buffet (overpriced for the very limited selection). It included maybe 5 basic hot items. We were told no omelet comes with the buffet, there were no breakfast potatoes, and they ran out of OJ. Other Hiltons include made-to-order omelets in the buffet price and have items like a smoked salmon spread and waffles.
When they offer breakfast off the menu, it's fine.
The rooms are a great value. Go for the history and front desk hospitality.

We have had an amazing stay for our trip to America’s Mart! Everyone that works here is so kind and has gone above and beyond. Eric greeted us when we arrived, had a room ready for us, and made checking in seamless. He was so professional and r...
eally seemed to enjoy his job and the people he worked with. Renee helped us later and had great things to say about Eric and the team as well. Seems like a great place to work, great staff, clean rooms, and felt safe being here! Thank you to Eric, Renee and their team! We will be back!

I’ve had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and what truly sets it apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been friendly, kind, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
I especially want to highlight the valet s...
ervice and my experience with Marlin. While the valet is a bit on the pricey side, it is absolutely worth it for the convenience and the outstanding level of service. Marlin went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless, and his professionalism and warm attitude made a lasting impression.
The front desk staff has also been fantastic, always helpful and pleasant, and the rooms have been impressively clean and well maintained. While the cleanliness and comfort are excellent, it’s really the people here that make this hotel stand out.
I’m incredibly happy with the service I’ve received and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who values top-tier hospitality and a staff that truly cares about their guests.

Our stay at this hotel was exceptional. We visited for a weekend getaway to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The location is ideal—centrally located with numerous restaurants an...
d attractions within walking distance. Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed by a super friendly and cheerful staff member named Ten, whose hospitality immediately set the tone for our stay. She graciously wished my husband a happy birthday and surprised him with a complimentary appetizer card for the hotel’s in-house restaurant, which by the way also serves delicious coffee. Truth be told, all the front desk people were phenomenal, but Ten stood out among the rest. The rooms were clean, spacious, and bright, and the hotel’s historic charm added to its overall beauty. It was a great hotel and it wasn't sickly expensive. This hotel truly provided the perfect setting for a memorable trip.
