and the staff truly went above and beyond in every way. (she brought her espresso machine from HOME to make my favorite cocktail while I relaxed before we were introduced!!) The views from the hotel are unmatched. Every guest had an amazing time. For our sit down dinner, everyone was served within minutes, and the food was outstanding. Carly and her team made our wedding vision come to life better than we could have ever asked for. I would HIGHLY recommend the Athenaeum Hotel as a wedding venue and can not thank them enough for their hard work. From the beginning of the planning process, Carly was patient, attentive, and always quick to respond to any phone calls and emails. The entire staff was so incredibly helpful and we are so appreciative.

Numerous guests commented how “this is the way to have a wedding,” because everything was so convenient. Carly and the other staff at the hotel took care of everything once we arrived and we did not have to worry about anything the day of the wedding. Here are a few specifics from our event: 1) The staff members were wonderful and easy to work with – they helped all of our guests get to where they needed to be 2) When we arrived the day before the wedding with all of our wedding things, we unloaded the car and told Carly whether it was for the ceremony or the reception and where we planned for it to be. Carly and her team took it from there – and everything looked perfect. 3) Carly took care of all the small details I had overlooked. For our guestbook, we had a picture frame with a matt to be signed but I completely forgot to bring a picture to put in as a placeholder. Luckily, Carly went ahead and printed one of our pictures from our wedding website. It was incredibly thoughtful. 4) The room I had initially picked to get ready in was too small for the 8 of us and a hairstylist – which I did not realize until the morning of the wedding. The Athenaeum staff, without missing a beat, allowed us to get ready in the Annex – a huge space that was perfect for a large bridal party. 5) The Hall of Philosophy is an incredibly beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony. We received numerous compliments from our guests. During the rehearsal, there were benches set up along the front that we did not like, but once we asked Carly what we could do to move them, she took care of everything. 6) After the open bar closed at 11, the staff allowed us to continue the festivities in the parlor until 2am. 7) At the end of the night, the staff locked up all of our gifts, so we could pick them up the next morning. It was great that no one from the wedding party had to worry about picking everything up at the end of the night. We loved every minute we were at the Athenaeum and would highly recommend it to anyone who might be considering it.
