Id like to start by staying that my wedding was beautiful and I loved every minute of the day. The staff was wonderfu, the room was beautiful. It really was perfect. I write this r...
eview as more of a warning to the next bride. Be prepared to fight every step of the way for your dream day. The wedding coordinator(Karen Hite) made every effort to ruin my wedding experience for me. Every problem that came up was caused by her. Things I was told I would be able to do and have in my original meeting were completely declined as we got closer to the day. From my menu, to timeline of the wedding, to the actual cost of the wedding (I signed a contract and was still debating with her 3 months before the wedding), my list goes on. Which you get over(but should you have to?)
Lastly the day of the wedding she was extremely rude my wedding party, parents and inlaws. Again you get over(should you have to?) Because my wedding was still a wonderful day.
If you do decide to go with Blue Heron, be prepared to fight and make the day what you envision, because Karen will not help you.
As a COVID bride, my wedding was more stressful than it out to be. We had already postponed once and decided on the fly to have a mini-wedding.
We had our mini-wedding here on 10...
/24/20 and the event planner Casey pulled it together in under a month! She was quick to respond to messages and organized a beautiful event with coordinated table settings and a beautiful backdrop. The site has many beautiful spaces for photos, and dinner was delicious! The servers and bar staff were attentive, polite, and friendly. Although it wasn’t what we had initially planned in terms of size or timing, Casey and her staff worked so hard to make our event perfect and now I can’t imagine doing it anywhere else!
Blue Heron worked tremendously hard to make our day perfect! Barb and her team communicate with you often and respond to any questions/concerns. The food was yummy and the atmosphe...
re is beautiful! It would have been nice if the team had packed up our decor items as we had brought them and not left them out. But, that is our only complaint.
My husband and I got married at Blue Heron earlier this year (September 9). It was the perfect day and location - we couldn't have asked for anything better. The location is beauti...
ful with the balconies, big windows, and pond.
We got SO many compliments on our food - the chef Paul did an outstanding job. Our wedding coordinator Caitie was great leading up to and the day of the wedding. She answered all our questions and worked to make our day exactly how we wanted. The day of the wedding Caitie made sure everything went smoothly. My wedding party told me that she was everywhere they looked! (I was too busy having an amazing time to notice) I would 100% recommend having a wedding at Blue Heron!
My husband and I had our wedding reception there on October 15th of this year. I can't express enough how perfect this entire day was! Caitie and Paul did everything to make our d...
ay amazing! Paul was so accommodating with the food selection, I received SO many complements on the food. The view at Blue Heron is outstanding with so many options to take great pictures. I recommend Blue Heron for any event!
Fantastic, a solid option for a wedding. The moment we walked in and saw the stain glass in our wedding
Colors we were sold. Paul, catering/chef, was exceptional. He catered to my ...
grandfathers needs and was immensely helpful even when it came to helping figure out where the DJ should go if it rained (or poured all day up until 20 mins before my wedding). There was nothing he wouldn't do for us and was at every meeting. Caitie was helpful and always available for contacting if you needed anything, day or night. They have thought of everything when it comes to details and they are open to everything. We had a smore bar at our wedding, a first for them, and it worked out beautifully. It's newly repainted and remodeled a little as of this summer. They have solid back up plans for anything and everything! We booked a year in advance and wouldn't have changed our minds. Our favorite part of the place was the entire open window view and the bar at the end of the dance floor! It's just beautiful!
When I started planning my wedding, initially, I had a few different venues in mind. Blue Heron Hills ended up being the only place I looked at. The moment I sat down with Caitie (...
the events coordinator), I was hooked! Blue Heron Hills is an exceptional venue for people looking for lots of space, with a great view. You have access to the entire floor, unlike most venues that only give access to a single room. Anything I wanted, the answer was, "Yes!" Paul (catering) is a spectacular human being. He genuinely wanted to know how he could accommodate my guests best. I was able to adjust the menu to whatever I wanted, and felt completely in control of my wedding. This is definitely not the case at all wedding venues.
While Blue Heron Hills is slightly out of the way from Rochester, it is definitely an ideal location for a wedding reception. My guests were unbelievably impressed with the entire night, and it was very clear to me how much time and effort everyone at Blue Heron Hills put into our night. We are forever grateful!!!
We had our ceremony and reception at Blue Heron Hills! Paul (the catering manager) was fantastic. He was very organized and the day went very smoothly! The country club did change ...
hands mid planning, and the new food and beverage manager Martin was mediocre. However, you will spend most of your time dealing with Paul. The price was average, about $60 per plate. The food was delicious, and our guests had a wonderful time!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to have my wedding. Blue Heron's landscape is absolutely beautiful, the inside is spectacular and the staff was so wonderful to work with.
I had an incredible experience working with the staff at Blue Heron Hills. Both my ceremony and reception were held there. Planning was easy, with Laurie just an email a way. The v...
enue was gorgeous the day of my wedding, and Pat made sure everything ran smoothly. And the food was A-MAZ-ZING! I would highly recommend this venue

ble. Paul made the food which was homemade and unbelievable. I nearly busted out of my dress because I wanted to keep eating. Patrick and Paul were checking in with us throughout the entire evening to make sure everything was going well and if we needed anything. We also did our photos around the golf course. Patrick gave us all (14 in wedding party) golf carts and escorted us around the course. Patrick was wonderful with our photographers and meeting their requests with lighting and scenic backgrounds. Everything went perfectly! It was unreal how perfect it went. We were not worried about one thing. It was especially nice being at Blue Heron because it was so secluded, private and beautiful. If we could do it all over again, we would not change a thing. We have and will continue to recommend Blue Heron Hills. We also had our wedding cake made by an onsite baker, Melissa. Melissa was amazing to work with, the cake was so delicious and the price was great too. Thank you Blue Heron and Melissa!

My husband and I wanted a non-traditional wedding reception - multiple grazing stations, hand passed hors d'oeuvres, indoor/outdoor venue, food stations outside, ice cream buffet, ...
childcare area and open bar. Patrick (club manager), Laurie (event coordinator), and Paul (director of catering services) were absolutely fantastic. They listened to our thoughts, considered our budget, promptly responded to all communications, and worked with us and for us to make our reception EXACTLY what we envisioned. The entire staff was professional on our wedding day while the decor and food were fabulous. We could not have been happier. I would undoubtedly recommend Blue Herron to any person planning a special event!
We had a good wedding!! The day was beautiful !
