About this vendor
The Barn at Bee Cliff is a wedding venue and rural retreat located in Elizabethton, TN. Situated on the Watauga River, the area is surrounded by trees, spacious lawns, and the gurgle of water. This tranquil locale is near ample opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including kayaking and fishing.
John Allen is the owner and founder of The Barn at Bee Cliff. He finished building the structure in June of 2020. John’s craftsmanship is apparent throughout the barn and can be seen in the many wood finishes. Other rural touches include antique farm equipment that is dotted throughout the property. Thanks to the many backdrops provided by nature, lovebirds have multiple chances for memorable photographs.
The ground floor of The Barn at Bee Cliff spans 1,944 square feet with an additional 312 square feet in the hayloft. Attached to the building is also a covered porch, providing shade and the opportunity to take in the sights. The garage doors can be opened on the barn, allowing natural light and fresh breezes to flood the interior space. The tall ceilings add to the ambience and have been decorated with lights for a sense of romance. There is a full kitchen, including freezer and fridge storage as well as sinks, stoves, and various ovens. For the convenience of your loved ones, the site also possesses two restrooms. Accommodations are available in the Hen House as well. There is space for the wedding party to get ready together. For the comfort of you and your nearest and dearest, climate control is also available.

Weeks later, we're still absolutely gushing over The Barn at Bee Cliff; it was the perfect venue for our wedding. The venue is absolutely stunning, filled with history & will provide the most beautiful back drop for any photo. The team are so kind, friendly, accommodating and provide so much communication to ensure you are happy with every tiny detail of your special day. Our guests were so impressed! John and Norine along with their family helped every single step of the way with guidance and preparation. Such an amazing wedding day, it was everything I wished for and took the stress out of planning!
Thanks for making it a very special day!!
My daughter fell in love with this small, cozy venue and it was a beautiful place to have her wedding. However, the owner Norine was a bit scattered, contradictory and hard to deal with at times. She would tell us one thing, then completely change her answer later. It was very difficult to determine the table set-up for the reception and which table cloths we were using because she kept giving us different answers about how many of each color/kind they had. When we arrived on the Friday before the wedding to start setting up, her husband John was very rude to my father (grandfather of the bride) and to me (mother of the bride). What should have been a simple task of asking us to move our vehicles was handled in a very harsh way. The owners have 2 large dogs that they let run freely around the property. I love dogs, but they were definitely in the way of us trying to move tables and get everything set up. During the rehearsal, someone stepped in a large pile of dog poop. I felt that it was very inconsiderate to let the dogs run free like that. I understand that they own the property, but it was being rented out to guests for a wedding.
Overall, the wedding turned out great, and we loved the venue. The experience was just made a little unpleasant by the venue owners.
Not enough space here to leave a review that completely conveys how wonderful the venue, hosts, and staff are at The Barn at Bee Cliff. John & Norine plus their team were delightful to work with! The venue, the setting- all breathtaking!! As the Mother of the Bride everything about our experience with The Barn at Bee Cliff exceed our expectations!
As proud parents of the bride, for the wedding held on September 25, 2021, at The Barn at Bee Cliff, we would like to express our thanks to their staff for helping us host the reception.
The venue was a beautiful setting with the rolling river next to the wonderful historic traditional barn that matched the bride and groom’s personalities. It made for a desired location for their special day.
The owners and staff were friendly, kind, courteous and very attentive meeting the needs of all parties involved, from our family that stayed in the cabins to our other chosen vendors, guest and the bride and groom. The venue was affordable yet the experience working with them was priceless. We were able to provide our daughter and son-in law the wedding of her dreams!
My finance and I visited the property and we both love it! The barn itself is pretty cool but the surroundings are incredible. It sits right on the river and is secluded and peaceful. We also took a look at the cabins for out of town guests and they look great. The owners gave us a wonderful tour and couldn't have been nicer. This is going to be the perfect location for our wedding!
