The Barn at Ike's Place

Our daughters wedding was in 2022. The venue was beautiful, we will give them that. On the rehearsal day we came in to set up and found stained and wrinkled table covers. Our daughter was in tears, I immediately went to Charity and explained they were unacceptable and she said oh well nothing I can do about it! Myself being a past caterer, I told her I'd be fired if I had done this and didn't make an effort to make it right! She shrugged her shoulders at me. I asked if there was a steamer or iron and ironing board to try and get at least the wrinkles out. She told me absolutely not. so, we sent someone to get one and it didn't help so I got on the phone of a rental place I had used for catering and was able to last minute get table toppers to at least cover the tops at an out-of-pocket expense of $350.00. Which they would not reimburse us. Also they hung out in the venue by the bar, on the patio, on the porch all night. Helped themselves to the cookie table before guests did, and took a plate full to their house. Their son was in the venue a lot also and guests were asking others, thought kids weren't invited? extended family members kept asking who they were and why do they keep staring at us. It was very uncomfortable and weird to say the least. It was required to hire 2 constables for security of their venue and property, so why did they feel it was ok to invade our daughters wedding. The only workers we had to hire were the bartenders and we had a caterer take care of the food and we hired 2 women to oversee the food and the clearing of tables and keeping the cookie table full, etc. They were not invited so should not have inserted themselves into our reception for the entirety. To stop in and check to see if we needed anything is completely different then hanging out, like they did. I would never recommend this venue because of the unprofessionalism and uncaring for one of the most important days in our daughters life.
