About this vendor
The Barn at Riverbend in Peculiar, MO, is a hidden gem you and your partner can share with your loved ones on your wedding day. It sits on 20 acres amid sweeping fields of lace flowers and towering shady oak trees and offers a beautiful clear view of the night sky.
Folks will need to wait to view the picturesque white barn as the hillside ceremony setting is the first location they will encounter. Your family and friends will enter the ceremony site along the string-lit fenceline that leads uphill. Here, you will swap vows with the love of your life, surrounded by your guests' smiling faces. Once everyone hears "I do" for a second time, the celebrations can begin in earnest. The wedding party will follow the wood-lined path to the cocktail hour patio and a toast to you and yours. Glasses will clink, laughs will be heard, and tears will be shed as the sun begins to set behind The Barn at Riverbend. That will be your cue to take up to 200 of your nearest and dearest inside the historic structure for an unforgettable night's entertainment.
The Barn at Riverbend is the place to be on every happy occasion, whether it be weddings, engagement parties, elopements, or rehearsal dinners. With two bars, inside and out, several skilled bartenders will be at your service throughout your stay. Prior to the ceremony and reception, you can sit down and speak to the bar staff to discuss a signature drink to celebrate your wedding day in style.

d traditional barns altogether. We had a fantasy/whimsical/light lord of the rings-esque vibe in our dreams and we were able to pull it off here - everything was absolutely stunning and gorgeous. The river backdrop, the beautiful barn, the bridal suite was amazing. But on top of the beauty of the venue, Kris & Kip were just absolutely amazing hosts. They were so wonderful to work with, organized, punctual, and made it easy for us. They are beautiful people and we loved the opportunity to get married at their amazing venue. Our wedding was absolutely perfect and honestly, we could not be anymore happier that we chose this beautiful place to celebrate our new life together. Thank you so much, Barn at Riverbend. We cannot explain how grateful we are. You are amazing and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

g day. The ceremony site was so unique and well-maintained, which helped make our wedding feel so intimate and special. The bridal suite was amazing for getting ready. The folks at The Barn made sure that guests of all ages were catered to--having access to the golf cart for grandparents was extremely helpful. We loved having the different spaces for the big day (ceremony site, bar and cocktail area, reception space) so that each part of the celebration felt special, yet it all flowed together so well. We would absolutely recommend The Barn to anyone looking for a beautiful, intimate outdoor venue with lots of personality!
When we first visited The Barn At Riverbend, I knew it was the one when my then-fiancé was excited. The perfect “Us.” First there was assisting us w/ Preferred Vendors. I can say a...
ll surpassed our investment! Beyond thrilled! Then, there was as we were approaching our day, meeting w/ Des, Kip, our wonderful Wedding Planner, Jamie, and then the Open House, the butterflies started syncing in. I knew the day would go seamlessly, just how passionate they were to us having the day we envisioned. The ease of walking us thru the day, asking questions I didn’t even think about, it certainly lessened an nerves a bride would have. Then our Day arrived! Greeted by both Kris & Kip, they were ready to help however they could. There were so many special touches that warmed my heart, from the bridal suite, a sweet note & cutting board, the mimosa bar, to finding a way for my Mother who’s challenged w/ stairs with getting around, a place for to get ready, helping her sit hillside w/ the amphitheater seating, to walking their property the morning, ensuring no maintenance needs. Bridal Paths, both Hannah & Jamie, were perfect!, professional & the kindest! The whole team was truly amazing! A month to the day, & still reliving the perfect day!, & could not be happier with The Barn At Riverbend. ~ Debra

re process and day of. They were extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. All of our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was and liked how they got to experience different parts of the property for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The space is so beautiful we only had to do minimal decorations. The day exceeded our expectations and we wish we could re-live it again! The Barn at Riverbend is so unique in the KC area and we would highly recommend to any future couple.
We got married at the Barn at Riverbend this past month and It was the best decision we made for our wedding!!
We really wanted an outdoor wedding that didn't have overwhelming "...
farm" vibes. This venue really hits the head on the nail. We didn't do any decorating outside of florals because the natural setting was just so perfect. Everyone keeps remarking that our wedding truly looked like something out of a fairy tale. The wood tables and decor that the venue does already provide feels so authentic. I wouldn't change a thing about how the venue looks.
Desiree and the owners were also so accommodating with all our ideas. They didn't blink an eye when we said we wanted to do something a little different and have karaoke instead of the typical dance party at our reception. They even offered our guests complimentary coffee service when the temperature dropped 40 degrees two days before and allowed us to switch our signature drink to a hot toddy.
Our day of coordinator had never worked a wedding here before, but was so incredibly impressed with how professional the owners and venue coordinator were. Everything could not have run more smoothly.
Even though It was cold, everything was still so perfect. Please - RUN, don't walk to sign a contract here.
We couldn't have been happier with the Barn at Riverbend as our venue. The setting itself is absolutely STUNNING and it really speaks for itself. We knew we wouldn't need to worry ...
about decorations because of all the natural greenery, string lights, and sound of running water in the background. It was the first venue my partner and I toured when we started planning, and I asked him while we were there if we should even bother looking anywhere else, because we had already fallen in love with it! But beyond that, Kris, Desiree, Jon (the DJ), and the entire staff there really went above and beyond in terms of answering our questions and making us feel relaxed and stress-free the day of. Everything ran so smoothly and we were in such good hands! Highly, highly recommend!!
First, this is the most beautiful venue I’ve ever seen! Desiree and our Barn at Riverbend team was incredible to work with. Our wedding day was perfect!

t it was the place for us.
The venue staff was professional, kind, and competent- special thanks to Desiree for everything she did to help!- and they were especially helpful in connecting us to vendors they had worked with for similar weddings. They showed the professionalism and experience that one would expect from a team that does hundreds of weddings a year, yet every time we worked with them, we felt as though they showed us a singular focus and dedication to making our wedding a success.
Our wedding was a watershed moment in our lives, and we could not have asked for a better venue for that moment than the Barn at Riverbend.
We got married on 8/6/22 and I’m SO happy we chose The Barn at Riverbend! Even though it was a 100 degree day, they made sure to make everything go as smoothly as possible and made...
sure to take all of our requests into consideration when planning. I would definitely recommend Hannah Wilson as a coordinator as she does many weddings at this venue. It was so worth it to have a stress free day and she went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect!

er were wonderful to work with, always responding quickly to any questions and helping to make the entire wedding process easier. We ended up having to move our ceremony indoors because of rain, but the indoor space is just as magical as the outdoor space. After the rain cleared, our guests loved walking around the property whether they were taking a dance break by the fire pit or enjoying the twinkle lights at the ceremony and cocktail space. The venue includes so many amazing features like the bridal suite and man cave or the gorgeous wood tables. The Barn at Riverbend exceeded all of our expectations and we cannot recommend it enough!

(venue manager) went above and beyond her duties to ensure that our big day was perfect. Living out of state, the venue and manager made sure to make our tour feel so special and answered our countless questions that we had leading up until the wedding day. The venue is absolutely breathtaking and such a different pace from your typical downtown KC wedding. The scenery around the venue is so unique and cannot be found anywhere else. We received SO many compliments on the venue from our guests. We truly could not have asked for a more perfect day. We are so glad we chose the Barn at Riverbend for our wedding and would highly recommend it to any couple that enjoys, outdoor scenery, an intimate ceremony/reception, and top-notch customer service!

lot of things, but Desiree helped set our minds at ease. She answered all of our questions in a very timely manner, and through it all, she was professional and patient and kind...and she was there to help facilitate everything on the evening of the dinner. The Barn at Riverbend is a stunning venue and the evening was absolutely perfect! Thank you for all your help, Desiree!
Breath taking venue!! Everything about this venue is wonderful. Desiree Tran helps the venue run so smoothly and adds a beautiful smile & glowing personality to top it off :)

any others. After touring the site, we knew that we did not want our wedding to be anywhere else than The Barn. The photographs do not do justice to how beautiful the venue is. From the reception area overlooking the river to the rustic groomsmen cabin to the ceremony site nestled gently beneath the trees, there is no part of The Barn that is not breathtaking. We were fortunate to have a perfectly sunny day for our wedding, and our family members and guests could not stop complementing how lovely and peaceful everything seemed. But as much as The Barn itself contributed to our ideal wedding experience, that experience would not have been possible without the amazing staff at the Barn. Kris, the owner, was so gracious and helpful during our walkthrough. Jon, the DJ who works with The Barn, met with us multiple times to craft our music playlist and set a timeline for the reception. The reception and dancing would not have gone as well as they did without Jon's help. And finally, Desiree, the Venue Manger for the Barn, was great to work with. She helped us every step of the way, answering all of our questions and generally helping us stay calm during the whole process. We very much appreciated her attention to detail. In short, we give The Barn at River Bend our highest recommendation. If you are looking for a special, even magical, wedding experience, then there is no venue in the Kansas City area that can compete with The Barn.

pointments. The Barn at Riverbend was the first venue we looked at and we immediately knew it was the one and cancelled all of the other tours that same day. The barn is just so adorable and the perfect place for the wedding party to get ready, the veranda with the evergreen trees makes for the most beautiful natural photo backdrop, and the outdoor ceremony space is absolutely breathtaking. We could not have imagined a better setting for our more non traditional ceremony. The staff and owners are all so friendly and truly want to make sure you have the most perfect wedding day. They have prepared for every little detail or possible weather complication. Desiree was great to work with and was always available for all of our questions. We got endless compliments from our family and friends and we just could not have asked for a better wedding day. Absolutely perfect and will always recommend the Barn at Riverbend!
