We had our wedding at the Barn at Walnut Grove this past weekend. I can not express how much we love this venue, and how much we love the owners Donna and Dave. From the beginning ...
their warmth and kindness made all the difference. When there were issues with the first caterer they went above and beyond to help us. They introduced us to their new onsite caterer we used for both our rehearsal and wedding and it was some of the best wedding food we’ve had. Rave reviews from our guests on the chicken parm and the steak tips. One guest said she could live on the dinner rolls. When we had issues with our photographer Dave stepped in to protect us. He even took photos of the sunset for us when our photographer left the ceremony site early. Every guest we had told us how beautiful and unique the venue was. Guests loved the beer, with several highlighting their on site made craft beers. Try a shandy that one was a huge hit. If you are looking for a place that is not only gorgeous but thinks about you and your guests needs the barn at walnut grove also comes with a beautiful bridal suite AND grooms quarters, ample parking, and enough bathrooms for your guests. It has a beautiful loft and tons of outdoor space and above all, staff that will care about you.

September 2025 wedding. We had visited several venues searching for the rustic atmosphere my daughter desired, but they all were just missing something – then we found The Barn and our hosts Dave & Donna. From the initial visit, my daughter was in contact with Donna, who answered our numerous questions and gave us access to the venue for engagement photos and throughout the planning process.
The venue offers a private setting, that is yours for the entire day, from getting ready in the spacious bridal and groomsmen suites, to the picturesque ceremony site situated high upon a hill, to the outdoor patio setting for cocktail hour, and then the beautiful climate-controlled indoor reception area in the barn, with its own bar and a large dance floor. There are numerous beautifully manicured outdoor settings and picturesque views to capture the event in photos and videos. Navigating around the venue is done in style, with a private bus and shuttles, and our happy couple even utilized the zipline for an exciting arrival to the reception. We also held our rehearsal dinner at the on-site Cigar Lounge and patio, closing the night with a gathering around the fire pit.
We utilized the venue’s preferred caterer for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception and we received numerous compliments on both. From the impressive charcuterie table and butlered appetizers, dinner buffet, and even late-night snacks – there was plenty of food and it was all delicious. The service and bar staff were professional, efficient, and accommodating – even providing specialty mocktails my daughter requested.
We received many compliments on the venue and staff from our guests and we are truly happy we chose to host our daughter’s wedding at The Barn @ Walnut Grove.

My son's wedding was a few weeks ago, end of August 2025. I intentionally did not write this review immediately as I wanted to ensure all emotions were set aside.

venue is beautiful, so are many others so it is not unique. I have had three children get married so I do know what to expect from a venue. Of the three weddings the service was the worst here.
Service is below average and as if it managed by amateurs. The owner Dave is very difficult to work with, he is very rigid and not personable at all. Donna is wonderful and great to work with. A few months before the wedding we were told we had to find a new caterer, the caterer they told us we had to us because Dave would no longer allow here on site. We sat with Dave and Donna and they explained, gave their reasons, there were definitely red flags but we had no choice. They gave us the name of the new caterer, arranged a tasting and the new caterer was fine, We had to change some things, not as many appetizer choices etc but the food was good.
We had to start clearing our own tables while he and his staff watched, it was like they never did this before. We were putting our plates, salad plates etc on the bar to make room for dinner just so we could eat. It was only then they started clearing plates.
No salt and pepper on the tables and when we asked for it we were lectured about how salt is bad for you.
We had a buffet and once the guests had gotten their food the staff got food, there was plenty we had no problem with that, but they ate at the bar with the guests. I have been in the hospitality business as is my family, you don't do that.
Dave constantly reminded us and the next day that our guests were bad tippers. That they were the worst tippers out of all the weddings they had. Well we don't control the guest and perhaps the tips are a reflection of the service

All night long our guests get coming up to us and telling us how beautiful the venue was and couldn't say enough good things. The food was also highly complimented as well. The zip...

test, and most patient people ever. They go above and beyond for weddings, whatever you want they make it happen. They have a zipline on the property, goats, open fields for sunset photos, running streams, a treehouse, a cigar bar/lounge (afterparty), and 3 places to have bonfires. They also have a indoor swing that can be hoisted up and hidden, bridal suite and grooms' suite with games inside. They are also a micro-brewery with amazing beers! You will not regret it one bit, well worth it and your guests will be amazed at this beautiful property. Call and get a tour today!

Wow! Where do I begin! When I first met my now husband, his cousin (who is a preferred photographer at the Barn at Walnut Grove) showed me their website and raved about this venue....
I knew I was going to marry him here, it was just a matter of getting engaged LOL and seeing it in person. This was the ONLY venue that made us speechless. Touring the venue and seeing the ceremony site just took our breaths away. Dave and Donna are such down to earth people and will go above and beyond to make your day perfect, as well as their staff. I always made an excuse to go to the venue before our big day because the moment I saw it, I was in love. We got to experience the northern lights two days before our wedding which was also the night of rehearsal and it was absolutely magical. Every single one of our guests absolutely LOVED this venue. I wish we could get married again just so we could do it all over again. If you are looking for a barn with heating, AC, a beautiful ceremony site/property, and such amazing owners and staff to work with, don’t look any further, this is your place!
