The Barn of Chapel Hill

I can’t recommend The Barn of Chapel Hill enough! We wanted a destination wedding that was still affordable for our guests since we live in New York, but the majority of our family is in Michigan and our friends are all across the country. I did a ton of research online and immediately fell in love. My now husband and I flew out for a site visit in June of 2018 and were happy to confirm it’s just as dreamy in-person, and Kara (the owner) and Jenn (in-house floral designer) were so friendly that I knew they’d be great to work with. I previously worked for an event planning company so knew I wanted a specific type of venue based on my experience working weddings. The Barn of Chapel Hill checked all the boxes - first off, it’s a gorgeous barn with air conditioning (very important to my partner). Secondly, it’s located on a flower farm (so is not only beautifully landscaped, but also one less vendor needing to be added into the mix). It includes tables & chairs that not all venues offer, saving you money on furniture rental costs. Logistically it’s a dream because there are separate areas so that you can have your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all on-site in close proximity to each other, while still allowing each event to feel magically their own. There are also getting ready areas for both sides of your bridal party. And most importantly (to us), it’s pet friendly, so our dog was able to be with us on our special day. We originally planned for a June 2020 wedding, however, ended up having to postpone multiple times due to COVID. I could not be more thankful for how amazing all our vendors were, allowing us to move our date multiple times. Kara was especially helpful - reaching out proactively to provide available dates and making it super easy for us. I also owe our amazing team of vendors to her, as she shared The Barn of Chapel Hill’s preferred vendor list with us which we heavily relied on and which helped ensure everything went smoothly the day of. We finally tied the knot on August 21st, 2021 and are able to honestly say that it was the best day ever! (Truly magical with all the flowers and the butterflies that they bring!!)

The Barn of Chapel Hill is truly a magical place - it was the perfect venue for my now husband and I to have our wedding this September! When we got engaged in January of 2020, we started looking at venues and from the moment I walked into The Barn of Chapel Hill, I knew we would get married there. We are both UNC graduates and really wanted our wedding to bring all of our loved ones to a place we both care about. The Barn of Chapel Hill allowed us to do that in such an amazing way. The brick patio outside of the large barn doors was an incredible spot for our ceremony, the covered patio and lawn area made for the most beautiful cocktail hour, and the barn itself allowed for a reception room of 135 people to feel so intimate and joyful while also having plenty of space and room to talk, dance, and enjoy the evening. The bridal getting ready suite and groomsmen suite were also wonderful, and they even provide a planning guide and list of go-to vendors which helped us so much along the way! Kara, the venue owner, is the kindest soul and was so supportive all along the way leading up to our wedding day. Our original date was September 2020 and we ended up having to postpone our celebration until September 2021 due to COVID-19. Kara worked with us so patiently through all of this. At the time we had to postpone I know she was going through the same thing with so many other couples, but she still made us feel so important, empathized with us, and I could tell she truly cared about doing everything she could to make our day special even if it had to be delayed. I can not say enough how amazing Jennifer Wood is. She is the most wonderful florist and her creations are grown on-site at the barn! Jenn is truly an artist and brought my floral vision to life better than I ever could have imagined. She even added special touches all around the venue for the day and just went above and beyond in a way that I can never thank her enough for. I have had multiple friends and family members tell me that they have never seen more beautiful flowers than at our wedding. Jenn is just the greatest. I will always be so grateful that we got to have our wedding here. The Barn of Chapel Hill is the best and the people are even better. Thank you for for everything!

HIGHLY recommend the Barn of Chapel Hill! We got married in July 2021 and had a wonderful experience. Kara is wonderful to work with on the venue, and Jenn is an AMAZING floral magician. Our families and guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the barn was - absolutely perfect for our dream day. Would also recommend all of their preferred vendors! We didn't worry about anything because they were all so proactive, communicative, and helpful.

We just got married here in May and cannot recommend this beautiful venue enough. The location was perfect for us because it was conveniently located a short car ride away from the Carolina Inn where guests would be staying, but was far enough out of town to feel private and be surrounded by lovely natural scenery in all directions. The Barn of Chapel Hill has beautiful options for several different types of ceremonies and receptions (including being able to have dinner and dancing all in the same room!), and we loved that both the bridal and groom’s suites were located onsite. The whole team at BoCH was amazing and so helpful the entire road to the event - even when we had to change things last minute due to Covid. They also have wonderful vendor recommendations! We cannot recommend this venue enough.

When we were searching for venues, there was only one choice - The Barn of Chapel Hill. First, the barn and the surrounding flower fields are beautiful. Second, Kara and the crew are absolutely amazing and easy to work with. We had a pandemic wedding so we had a few changes in dates and other things and they were super accommodating. Our guests LOVED the venue and Kara and everyone at the Barn. They were super helpful in recommending vendors and had great recommendations. We are so happy to have gotten a date at the Barn. Our family asked for us to to get married there every year!

I'm a planner with C&D Events and have worked at The Barn of Chapel Hill pretty often over the last couple of years. It is a STUNNING venue with so many different variations and options for ceremony, cocktail hours and of course the reception. I sincerely enjoy working with Kara and Katie! They are always so prompt with communication and SUPER HELPFUL! Of course I cannot write a review without mentioning Jen with Wild Flora Farm - The Barn of Chapel Hill's in house florist! She is truly so talented and I admire her work ethnic and everything she puts her hands on! Her floral execution is amazing. I would definitely check out this venue - you will be amazed!

I stumbled upon this barn through Instagram and google. It was the first venue I visited and from that moment I knew it was the one. Every other venue I went to, I compared to the barn. I knew right there, I needed to say yes and am so happy I did. The venue is perfect and has so many things included in whatever package you choose. Kara and Katie are an awesome duo and were so helpful during the process. Our guests could not stop raving about how perfect the barn was. Our day was perfect and cannot think of any other place for it to be at. There are no words for Jenn, their on-site floral design artist. She is truly a creative genius who turns flowers and greenery into works of art. So many emotions were felt once I saw everything complete the morning of. She took the time to do little touches that she knew meant the world to me. Love her and will continue to enjoy what she does next for other couples on their special days!

It was a joy working with Jenn Wood of Wild Flora Farm / The Barn of Chapel Hill. Her design and execution of florals for our wedding at the Carolina Inn was flawless; she exceeded our expectations! Her vision of beautiful elevated pieces combined with bud vase garlands was magical! My bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, and flower arch made our ceremony even more special , beautiful, and memorable. We loved working with her and consider her more of a friend than a vendor! Highly recommend!!

The Barn of Chapel Hill was the most perfect venue for my wedding! I am so grateful for Kara, Jenn and Katie - they were incredible to work with over 1 1/2 years. They really listened to the vision we were going for, and pulled out all the stops to ensure that everything ran smoothly. We had a rain issue day of and Kara went above and beyond to ensure that we had the perfect day. The Barn is absolutely stunning and Jenn is a floral queen! All my guests were in awe of the Barn and the beauty they have created there. I am so glad I went with this venue and would highly recommend to anyone!

The Barn of Chapel Hill is a DREAM! What an absolutely stunning venue and it was the perfect place for our picture perfect wedding. Beyond being a beautiful venue you can not beat working with Kara and her team! Kara is incredibly responsive, helpful and easy to work with. She really makes sure your vision is achieved and your day goes smoothly. The Barn of Chapel Hill does all their florals in house and Jenn is a floral visionary! She put together the most beautiful flowers and they made the space! The Barn is affordable and you get a great package. I couldn't recommend this place more!

We had the reception for our November wedding here. Perfect place for a reception of 100 or more. Open and airy with plenty of room for dancing and dining all in one space. The outdoor porch was large enough for the cocktail hour and gave a nice outdoor break during the reception. The Barn is absolutely beautiful inside and outside. Kara always communicated quickly to our email inquiries and made us feel like friends. She personally cares about every event and figures out a way to say "yes" to so many requests. Also, the upstairs room gave a perfect pre-grand entrance space for the wedding party to relax and have some appetizers. Jen, the floral designer at Wild Flora Farm is amazing. The bouquets were huge and full of natural-looking flowers in a beautiful variety of colours. The corsages came on copper looking bracelets, rather than the typical elastic around the wrist. The center pieces on the tables were simple but elegant and exactly what we’d wanted. The lavender send-off at the end of the night was such a wonderful and joyous moment. We laughed and got lavender in our mouths but we didn't mind - all part of the fun!
