About this vendor
The Barn of Hidden Valley is a gorgeous Barn-style wedding venue just East of Columbus in Alexandria, Ohio (just 10 minutes from New Albany or Johnstown). The Barn is brand new, having been recently constructed by Amish craftsmen. The words we hear most of the from visitors are “Wow!" “Amazing!” and “Stunning!”.
As our name indicates, we are tucked away from the outside world in a very inviting and secluded “Hidden Valley” – a country setting surrounded by 38 acres of trees, streams and walking paths accessed across a rustic covered bridge.
Immediately around the barn are acres of beautiful grass accented by 4-rail horse fence to set the mood for relaxed county living. A close-by firepit area and fantastic landscaping make the setting complete. Choice locations for ceremonies are plentiful (including in front of the covered bridge). Locations for photo ops are plentiful.
A very large covered porch area equipped with string lighting and hickory rockers and other seating add a country feel and a touch of glamour. Three large cupolas accent the top of the barn and display changing colored lighting as the evening progresses.
The Barn interior is warm and inviting with walls of rough sawn pine and an amazing copper vaulted ceiling. Both overhead and sconce lighting can be adjusted to provide just the right mood. One end of the barn is accented by an expansive loft area containing Bride’s and Groom’s preparation areas. The loft has great potential for greeting guests, wedding party pictures, bridal and groom parties entering the main floor by way of the two stairways descending on opposite sides of the venue, space for DJs, musical presentations, bands, etc. The loft also attracts many guests who wish to view the dance floor from above, or who just want to make a phone call in a relaxed, quieter setting.
A spacious kitchen area with large commercial refrigeration and a freezer for ice make it a great place to set up a bar. Or use the large counter space as a serving area. Vendors and caterers of your choice are welcome. Other buffet areas are also available and two large whiskey-barrel tables for setting up a bar anywhere in the venue (you are in charge). Indoor chairs and tables are available to accommodate up to 200 guests.
You will have exclusive use of The Barn and surrounding grassy areas, the covered bridge and the firepit area. The rest rooms are unique and handicap accessible. Our black 1939 Ford F-150 pickup truck is available for pictures or just as a country accent if desired. Audio equipment is available to facilitate communication with your guests.

g is absolutely breathtaking;surrounded by rolling hills, rustic charm, and stunning natural beauty. It truly felt like something out of a fairytale.
The venue itself is beautifully maintained, with the perfect mix of elegance and country charm. Every corner offers a picture-perfect backdrop, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how gorgeous everything looked. The barn was spacious, warm, and inviting, making our celebration feel both grand and intimate at the same time.
The staff was phenomenal; professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made sure everything ran smoothly, helped with every detail, and truly cared about making our day special. Their organization and support allowed us to actually relax and soak in every moment.
Such a beautiful venue! Some people are going to complain that "nothing comes in addition with the venue"...i.e. on site service staff for the day of. But for what you get for t...
he price, you can absolutely not beat it! The owners are fantastic to work with and over our 15 months of planning, they were quick to respond and allowed us to come a month before the wedding again to finalize our vision. No, this isn't a show up and they do everything for you type of venue however who wants the price tag that would come with it. Tour this beautiful venue, book it, plan with your outside vendors and you will absolutely not be disappointed! Best Cinco De Mayo wedding ever as we had a food truck, full bar, yard games and so much more! The rain didn't even put a damper on anything because it is so spacious! The addition of the new deck is fantastic!

d our tables set up when we arrived the morning of the wedding and helped us set up all of the chairs as we got ready! It was such a beautiful place and very flexible about where to have the ceremony at with several different outside and inside options that they have added on to! It was so helpful how much they had helped us throughout the wedding day as to helping vendors and helping clean up at the very end. I definitely recommend this venue 100%!
Great wedding venue if you don't want catering restrictions. Easy to work with and very accommodating owners.

s and very helpful. It accommodates plenty of people. Tons of space. The bridal suites are great! Theres so many spaces on the property for everyone and couples to get married. I chose the covered bridge and it was stunning! Everything went smooth. Chairs and tables were provided. The huge fridge was a big help along with the deep freeze. I didnt need many decorations just because the barn itself is gorgeous! This venue is just awesome!!
Thank you so much George and Sharon for helping make our day even more special 🫶🏼

ing. The Barn of Hidden Valley sits in a wonderful setting, full of beautiful scenery. No matter what time of the year, I know a wedding here would be amazing. Our experience with the owners were fantastic. My wife had some big ideas for our wedding with decor and the owners were super helpful executing that plan. They were flexible in our needs and have amazing amenities to support our special night. The kitchen area has everything needed to support the food of the wedding, from warmers, to a huge commercial fridge and freezer, it was very convenient for us. It was nice to have an onsite area at the venue for the bride and groom to get dressed and have their spaces. We had an outside wedding with the reception inside. They had a beautiful arch that we used to have our reception. For pictures, there are so many different locations on site that you can go to to get the aesthetic that you are looking for. Our wedding was beautiful and we were able to enjoy every second due to the venue and the owners being helpful. Overall, I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone that has an event coming up!
We had the most beautiful wedding thanks to George and Sharon! Working with them was so easy and they’re very quick to respond with any questions you could think of. This venue is ...
absolutely perfect for weddings and more I cannot recommend them enough!
We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at The Barn of Hidden Valley. First off the owners George and Sharon were great and very easy to work with. Anytime I had a question they were ...
always very quick to reply. The wedding venue is beautiful and was fun to decorate! I would highly suggest using this venue for your event.
My family used this venue for my sister's wedding a few weeks ago and we were very pleased. The owners were super sweet and very attentive to our needs and desires for her big day....
They provided a reasonable amount of amenities in the price point they are in. We were very impressed with the bridesmaids and the groomsmen dressing rooms that were very private and provided ample space to get ready. The Barn is beautiful and provided a stunning backdrop for a beautiful day. We were worried it might be a little cold on an April day in Ohio, but they had space heaters that heated the space nicely and everyone was very comfortable. The kitchen amenities, tables, chairs and arbor were super helpful and made it so convenient for the event. We were thankful for this space and would definitely recommend it as a venue to others.

fect in a beautiful country setting. The accommodations were perfect. Everything was so neat and clean. Fully equipped kitchen. Porch with rocking chairs and plenty of room on the lush grass for games and bad-mittens nets. We definitely loved The Barn at Hidden Valley and I would highly recommend it for any occasion. Thank you to the outstanding owners. You can tell they put a lot of love into this venue.
I am so glad I chose the Barn of Hidden Valley for our wedding!!! We had a fabulous experience from beginning to end. We first toured it in December, we viewed 4 venues that day,...
the barn of hidden valley was the first. We fell in love with it instantly. We still went to the other venues but knew we would more than likely be going with it. We booked it the next morning.
The barn is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is new, clean and set up well for a wedding or any event really. It has a lovely kitchen area with food warmers, freezers and refrigerators. This made it a lot easier for our caterers. It has very nice bathrooms, bridal party suites and patios! We got lots of compliments on how beautiful the barn was. It also has lots of windows and large doors that make it feel very nice in the summer months. They have two Airbnbs right up the hill from the barn. I would definitely recommend booking one or both. We stayed in one Friday night and then the groomsmen used it in the day Saturday as a hang out place. It was nice to give them a place to chill while the girls got ready.
We got married outside, right off the back of the barn and it was perfect. If you’re looking for that amazing moment where the barn doors shut and everyone stands for the bride and they open back up this venue definitely is a dream for that.
George and Sharon are amazing to work with. From the beginning they were super helpful and easy going. They allowed for us to clean up on Sunday morning opposed to the night of the wedding which was an absolute game changer. It really allowed for my husband and I as well as our families to just relax and enjoy the evening. They also said yes to pretty much anything else we asked for. We had rented chairs from an outside company for the ceremony bc George and Sharon didn’t have chair rentals yet when we were planning. The day of my wedding the chairs from the other company showed l and were dirty and un usable. I asked George if they still had the chairs available and he helped us move the dirty chairs out of sight and rented us their chairs. He delivered them and everything. He also helped set up our wedding arch as it wasn’t working. It was a day savor for sure. They also sat all of our tables up which was amazing and saved us a lot of time the morning of the wedding.
I would recommend The barn of hidden valley to anyone looking to do a wedding or event. You will not regret it :)
So disappointed in their customer service, after seeing the way they speak to people, I would never rent this place nor would I recommend them. Sad that one of the easiest things i...
n life (kindness) isn't offered here.
Unbelievable. This place has the audacity to attack a bride and her family/friends for posting their true and valid experience. Even more reason to NOT use this venue because if y...
ou post less than 5 stars and post your experience - they attack you and accuse you of a conspiracy to "ruin" them. I can assure you that is not the case at all. I willingly posted my review because I was disgusted at what occurred and how it was handled and now I am even MORE disgusted by your "updated" response trying to discredit and smear those who left reviews of their experiences. Funny how in your new response you also state that you have made changes - which the lack of those things were in part the reason you got bad reviews! Best of luck to anyone who chooses to do business with you guys. Just AWFUL.
$5500 with a $1,000 deposit, you get a barn with no A/C, no table linens, no bar set ups, no freezer, no ice available, no filtered water (water smelled of sulphur), no trash dispo...
sal, no outside chairs for ceremony, no arch (even though these things are "pictures" on their website), no basic supplies/cooking utensils for caterer, nonworking microwave, no set up/clean up (this was done by the bride and groom/family/wedding guests). The bride/groom had to change out of their wedding attire into street clothes to CLEAN UP. This had be completed within an hour after the reception was scheduled to end, which included cleaning the bathrooms, showers, floors, removal of decorations etc, so the reception had to end earlier to begin the cleanup process. The take down of tables was included, but in order to clean the floors to their specifications on their last minute list, the tables needed to be put up. Why not give the family until the next day to get everything out and fully cleaned up. They shouldn't have to stress about ANYTHING on the day of the wedding. The fact that wedding guests had to restock the toilet paper in the bathrooms is absurd. I feel like these people saw dollar signs when building this place, not realizing the amount of work that goes into running a venue like this. IF you just want to rent out a building with no A/C, then you need to charge WAY LESS. If you are planning on running an event center and want to charge for one, then you need to invest in a few things before representing yourself as such and you could probably take a few lessons in customer service. I heard the owner refused to come down and talk to the bride when she was presented with the list that needed to be done to get their deposit back during the reception. BAD TIMING. This wasn’t listed in the original contract. Maybe this was just a learning experience for all and they will figure out what to do next time. I just feel bad that it had to be at this beautiful bride’s expense. Her day was still wonderful and the wedding was gorgeous. I guess all the issues will be something we all laugh about later on, especially the bride’s brother having to haul off every bag of trash and how it started leaking in the back of his truck. I hope some things were learned and you are just getting the kinks out. I suggest doing a some research on what venues do for their customers. You'll find that you can make a bunch of money and still make your customers happy. Just my two cents.
As an out of town guest to a wedding the place was beautiful, however with no air conditioning it was extremely hot. The fans did nothing to help since they were at the top of the ...
second floor. I was a guest but had to help with the clean up which I thought was strange. I do not know of a venue that doesn't provide set up and take down let alone no linens. During clean up we ran out of paper towels. So supplies were not adequate to host a wedding. They did not have anyone watching supplies in the bathrooms either. My husband had to go into the men's room to get toilet paper for someone in the women's restroom. As for looks it is very pretty but that is where the positive things stop for a wedding venue. Just so you know you are only getting the venue and nothing more at this place.
Update: I am apparently the evil monster out to "destroy" this place with my "accomplices" (I'm not). I shared my experience, and in response the owners decided that it is appropri...
ate to gaslight me (which I find sad). To set the record straight, in a moment of anger (I had two bridezilla moments, this was one) I did threaten to make sure others knew how we were treated. It was the only way to get the owner who was refusing to speak to me about a major issue to come down and discuss. I did not use the word "destroy", likely the word staff used to convey my words via text, but not my words. As one will see in my original review below, I listed what was + was not provided. No attacks, no making good on threat, no secret plot, an honest assessment of my experience for goodness sakes. All reviews from my family/friends (or as owner puts, "accomplices") were done w/o direction from me. I regret my conduct while angry (I raised my voice, swore), however, to translate my anger into motive for some malicious plot + discredit my experience, is sad. Also, "too much celebration" is a way of saying I was intoxicated and attempt to discredit me. I was stone cold sober.
I know a lot of people in this community and I'm not going to put 5 stars if my conscious speaks otherwise. I want this venue to improve, not to "destroy" them. However, if resorting to turning me into a monster is what they'd like to do instead, it's sad but I'm done. I hope they are nicer to the next person who leaves a less than glowing review.
My original review (shaved for space)
Wedding held at The Barn of Hidden Valley on 5/21/22. Beautiful new venue in Alexandria, Ohio. We were first wedding. Do-it-yourself place for the cost of a venue with more amenities.
For the rental fee:
• Gorgeous venue + grounds
• 30 5’ round tables, 6 8' rectangle tables, 4 6' rectangle tables, + 250 chairs (inside use).
• A nice patio w/ rocking chairs.
• Ceiling fans, many windows and doors for breeze (no AC)
• The use of a commercial-size refrigerator (no freezer)
• Bride and Groom’s suites. Will be tight if you have 3+ in your bridal party
• Fire pit + wood to burn.
You will be responsible for:
• Table and chair set-up (no one available to help despite being part of contract). We were permitted to set up and decorate the day prior . Tear down also included in rental fee, however we chose to tear down to achieve required sweep of floors
• Drinking water. Well water, smelled and tasted of sulfur
• Trash bags + removal; no dumpster
• Decorations. Use of nails and staples is permitted. All must be removed prior to event end time.
• Ice + means to keep it cold
• Extra paper towels and toilet paper
• Caterer of choice. No cooking facilities
• Table linens
• Tableware
• Outdoor seating for a ceremony
• Arch for ceremony
• Event Insurance, naming the The Barn of Hidden Valley
• Alcohol. A certified bartender to serve is required.
• Buses not welcome on property. Owner upset with bus turning around partially in grass. Cars had to park in grass. ~160 guests who did not bus, carpool recommended.
• Leave venue exactly as it was when you arrived: remove decorations + any nails/staples used, remove trash, vacuum balcony carpet if debris, broom sweep ground floor, wipe down counter areas, clean showers if used. Ensure fire pit is extinguished + debris removed. If cleaning is not done according to the provided outline, fees incur. The proprietor did allow rented chair pick-up the next day
