If I could give them 10 stars, I would. The team there is absolutely amazing - helpful, responsive, easy to work with. The venue is stunning - pictures don't do it justice. I am so...
happy we found this hidden gem! Our guests are still talking about it. The only tiny hiccup we had was the weather - it was hot and humid and the barn isn't air conditioned (it wouldn't be reasonable to even try). Most of our guests ate then ventured to other seating outside for the remainder of the evening.
We could not be happier that we chose the Barn on the New River as our venue for our special wedding weekend. We recently got married on June 7th, 2025 and from start to finish, Pa...
ula and Bethany were absolutely incredible to work with.
The Barn on the New River was the first venue we toured and fell in love with in January 2024, and we quickly realized we could not imagine getting married at any other venue. Pictures really don't do this venue justice! From the well manicured property, gorgeous barn and chandeliers, old hay barn, ponds, and dahlia garden, this venue really had it all. We even got to sneak away. for 30 minutes and take sunset pictures on the top of the mountain, which was one of my favorite parts of the night.
We loved having a list of preferred vendors to work from, and and even greater plus was the cabins all in close proximity that our immediate family members and bridal party were able to rent and be close to the venue.
The honeymoon suite was an awesome additive for my husband and I to not have to worry about driving to a hotel after our wedding night.
My husband and I would love to return and rent a cabin again in the future for our anniversary and soak up the beautiful mountain scenery where we were married.
All in all- The Barn on the New River venue and team were absolutely incredible. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not choosing them!
Thank you Paula and Bethany!
Paula and Bethany are absolutely sent from heaven! From the moment my husband and I met Paula and saw her beautiful venue, we knew it was THE one! Paula has such a sweet and welcom...
ing spirit about her that immediately put us at ease. She showed us around the venue and ensured us that her and her team were there to make. it. happen! And they ABSOLUTELY DID!
In truth, they were the one element of my wedding that was completely stress-free. There really isn't much more you could ask from your wedding venue.
In typical form, it absolutely poured on our wedding day. Moving the ceremony inside made next to no difference because of the natural beauty of everything. It seamlessly incorporated the look of an outdoor ceremony with the convenience and comfort of an indoor ceremony. Our coordinator Bethany flawlessly navigated the last minute overnighted umbrellas ordered. They ended up being held at the local post office due to their weight. I found out late the night before our wedding and hurriedly texted her. True to form, she provided an immediate solution and had Paula's husband at the post office first thing the morning of the wedding to have them picked up. They just could not have been more willing or accommodating to what the event needed.
Paula and Bethany truly were the backbone to our wedding! We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us. We are so grateful!
Paula is everything you would want in a host and more. Not only is she super responsive and willing to answer all of my questions, but she is also so kind and truly loves what she ...
does. She has turned a beautiful piece of heaven into a lovely wedding venue with beautiful views of the mountains all around you. She also has a beautiful garden right by the barn and a mountaintop view that she personally drove us to after our ceremony (~5min drive) where we took quite a few pictures. She went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day went perfect, and that even included allowing our wedding coordinator to cut some of her flowers to place them on our tables when our florist forgot to bring all of our flowers. We had our rehearsal dinner there the night before at the hay barn on property, and it allowed us to enjoy the venue for a few more hours. Highly recommend! Other highlights include a 4 bedroom cabin on property that you can rent, where we chose to have all of my bridesmaids stay in the night before the wedding. They also have a cute honeymoon suite for the night of the wedding to enjoy time with your new husband/wife and it is walking distance from the barn (literally right next door!). We enjoyed this space so much and highly recommend Paula and The Barn on the New River. Our guests had such a great time and continue to rave about how beautiful the property is!

e. I wouldn't have changed a thing about this venue and I highly recommend it to anyone searching for their dream wedding location. Also, I highly recommend using Caroline as your coordinator! She made our day run so smoothly and was so considerate of our needs on our day.
The Barn on New River is just the most incredible venue, with the most incredible owner to work with! We planned our NC wedding all the way from Utah, and booked this venue after ...
just a Facetime call with Paula! While it was a little nerve-wracking to have done that, we were able to tour the venue a few months later and were even more blown away getting to see it in real life. The lighting is fantastic, and the groom and bride suites are set up wonderfully for getting ready. The aisle is super long which is perfect for getting great photos. Unfortunately, we wasn't able to use the dreamy outdoor ceremony setting because it ended up raining all day on our wedding day. Paula was instrumental in making sure that everything was set up inside for the rain plan ceremony of our dreams, and it didn't disappoint. I've had so many friends and family tell me that this is the most magical wedding venue they've ever seen and I couldn't agree more! We were able to comfortably seat 160 guests and have our dance floor and ceremony inside per our rain plan.
Thank you so much Barn On New River for an incredible wedding day!

hile it was sunny and as beautiful as ever at the Barn, it was a chilly 36 degrees at ceremony time. Paula took every step imaginable to make sure our guests were comfortable, even going so far as to get a massive heater for the barn. She worked with us every step of the way. And the property? Words don't do it justice. It was absolutely perfect for the fall wedding I imagined. Secluded and beautiful, Paula and her husband ensured the grounds were meticulously kept. I'm so grateful for the experience.
From our very first tour to our dream wedding, The Barn on New River exceeded every expectation! We loved every minute of our time on the property! The barn is so beautiful inside ...
and the scenery outdoors is spectacular! Paula and her staff were so friendly and helpful answering all of my questions! Having the venue from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning made it so much less stressful as well! It’s obvious that this venue cares about the couple’s experience! I would definitely choose this venue a thousand times over!
The Barn on New River is spectacular; all of my guests came up to me and commented how beautiful the venue, setting, and the barn were! The barn is elegant with chandeliers and the...
original wood look! The mountains are a prefect ceremony background to the outside arbor and fountain!! Paula has also done an awesome job with the gardens, the flowers were blooming and she was very helpful!!

ell in love. Paula and her team are marvelous and will do anything to make sure the couple feels special. They had everything we needed for our big day. They were very flexible and catered to our requests, as well as genuinely caring about us and our day. The cabin on site and the honeymoon suite were both amazing and extremely convenient for us and members of our bridal party. We are so proud to say we are a part of the Barn on New River family, and we hope to go back soon! Overall, we absolutely loved our experience at the Barn and would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a memorable and beautiful wedding!

arlotte, and we were astonished to realize that just a short 2-hour drive will take you to such an untouched and private escape. The property has everything you could ever want for your wedding day, including the New River, endless mountain views, an incredible Dahlia garden, numerous ponds, and the most elegant and classic Barn that we had seen. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to everything the Barn on New River has to offer as well as the above-and-beyond support we received from the Venue owner Paula, and the Venue’s day-of-coordinator, Caroline. My husband and myself were both told by so many of our guests what an amazing and beautiful venue we chose. I could not imagine getting married in a more perfect and incredible location and we are so grateful for the memories that we have here!

ins and the outdoors! Our wedding truly was perfect mainly due to this being our venue! Paula is sooo amazing and will make you feel right at home. We did our rehearsal dinner and wedding at the venue and she was there every time we needed something- she is the definition of Southern Hospitality! Our guests were blown away and had so many different places to explore- from the barn to the flower garden to the river to the cornhole and fire pit! If you want the most gorgeous photos BOOK this venue! I can't stop looking at our photos from the flower garden and sunset photos on the mountain! Hands down the best venue in the high country!
This venue is absolutely stunning. The property is perfectly manicured, and has amazing views every direction you look. You cannot take a bad picture there. Paula and Caroline ...
were extremely helpful in the coordination both prior to, and during our ceremony and reception. We could not have done it without them. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. I highly recommend it to any couple looking to have the perfect setting for their wedding day.
This is hands down the best venue in the blue ridge mountains (coming from an Ashe County local couple)!! This venue is so stunning and needs minimal decoration to make it feel ele...
gant and classy but still have a relaxed atmosphere. Paula is filled with so much wedding knowledge and provides a list of recommended vendors, which would be great for those who are not local. Paula is quick to respond to texts and calls and always eased my mind. The bridal suite, groomsman room, and honeymoon suite were so convenient to have right on site. The cabin on the farm was clean, spacious, and has everything your family/friends need. Mark, Paula’s husband, works so hard during the week prior to the wedding to maintain the landscaping and beautiful dahlia garden. I would also highly recommend using Caroline Orcutt as your wedding coordinator (add on service). She is beyond organized and makes sure everything runs smoothly the day of your wedding. She is quick to response to emails, texts, and calls. She also gave us tons of suggestions that would fit in our budget. We could not recommend this venue more and thank the Domske’s and Caroline for all they did for us to make our day so special!!
The Barn on New River is the PERFECT place for a wedding!!!

As the groom's mother, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Barn on New River!!!

Paula is the best and her venue has some of the best mountain views I have seen. Made my pictures GORGEOUS
If I could give a million stars I would!
We can honestly say our wedding day was the best day of our lives! And a large part of it had to do with how beautiful the venue was, how...
amazing the owners are, and all of the vendors we had!
The barn on the new river is absolutely gorgeous for starters but the thing that caught our eye was really the package. They only do 1 wedding per weekend which means extra focus on making your weekend everything you dreamed of. We were able to have the rehearsal dinner at the barn and they have a cabin just down the road that was perfect for family to stay in.
Paula was a GEM! I mean by the end of the whole experience she felt like a family member. She was so patient and carrying and bent over backwards to make sure everything was PERFECT. The recommended vendors list they provided was spot on and she knows all of them so it made everything flow sooo easily!
The Barn also has an extra service you can add on for a day of coordinator which was so helpful. Caroline (the coordinator) took care of everything and really helped me relax. I really trusted her to keep everything on time and organized. I’m control freak so my biggest concern was I wasn’t going to really enjoy myself but with her help I was able to really live in the moment.
I’m honestly so sad that our wedding is over because it means I don’t get to see them but I’m holding onto hope that my siblings get married soon so that we can get them hitched here!
Honestly praying that my sister or brother will get engaged soon so that I can make them get married here! It was absolutely magical for us, our family, and friends!
The one and only venue we ever went to look at! From start to finish, Paula is just the epitome of a wedding venue owner!! Her communication during a pandemic and willing to work ...
with us in any way possible to make sure our wedding was beyond perfect for us was more than we could have ever asked for! We did the Thursday-Sunday package and I strongly recommend this! We were so relaxed and stayed atthe cabin on property - which is huge and PERFECT! Completely stocked with any and everything you need and super clean! The barn left people speechless when they arrived, telling us it was like something from a fairytale! I strongly encourage you to check this venue out if you are looking for a location that has all the amenities- beautiful bridal suite, awesome grooms suite, kitchen for your catering staff, huge bathrooms that are nice and clean for guests, the most perfect photo backdrops and an amazing, laid back owner♥️♥️♥️
I would highly recommend hosting your wedding or special event at The Barn on New River!
The venue is set back in the mountains and is private with tons of parking and incredible ...
landscape. The venue contact, Paula was a delight to work with! Her response time was most times in a matter of minutes and she was overly accommodating to help us connect with vendors when we weren't able to get a response on our own. Words can't express how well designed her Barn is for weddings! First its crystal chandeliers and lighting soften up the rustic barn feel, The 2nd floor that overlooks the first floor is breathtaking and finally the large barn doors and windows that can be open provide the perfect environment to bring take in the beautiful landscape while having your event in doors. She has a bar built in as well as a kitchen area for caters to work in private. Lastly I have to say that the Sonos Sound System that throughout the barn, ceremony area and outdoors led us to save a ton. I can not think of one thing that this venue doesn't offer!
If I can give you any advise, it would be to START your search by visiting this location first. I can assure you that you won't find anything more beautiful or anyone who is more personal and really cares about taking care of her client!
Planning a wedding during Covid was extremely stressful and, let’s be honest, kind of a bummer. However, The Barn on the New River was able to make it one of the very best days Of ...
our life. To say that the owners, Paula and Mark, exceeded our expectations would be a complete understatement. They are an absolute dream to work with and take so much of the stress out of the planning process. The venue is absolutely perfect full of the most picture perfect backdrops and wonderful, thoughtful touches. The barn alone is a dream along with the bride and groom suite which provide the perfect, comfortable place to get ready on day of. The honeymoon suite is perfect and such a nice quiet escape after saying I do. The cabin on the property comfortably accommodated 10 of our family members and they absolutely loved it. Our wedding weekend was nothing short of magical, it served as the perfect escape for our closest family and friends from all the craziness of 2020 and we can’t thank Paula and Mark enough for all they did to make it that way.
I cannot say enough great things about this venue and the owner, Paula! The venue is beautiful but also very functional. Paula was very responsive and accommodating and always had ...

The suites were perfect for getting ready the day of and she made sure there was no added stress on us. r our outdoor ceremony. The Barn itself was wonderful for a reception as well- beautiful wood and elegant chandeliers made it great for the elegant and natural vibe I was going for. All our guests fit perfectly for both dinner and dancing, with the patio being a great outdoor space for cocktail hour and extra dancing at the reception.
Paula (and her husband Mark) are a true pleasure to work with! Paula has wonderful vendor suggestions and is there for the bride every step of the planning process, while Mark is the jack-of-all-trades handyman who jumped to our aid more than once! We stayed in the cabin on the property the week leading up to the wedding, and it was not only very nice and well priced, but the perfect home base for last minute planning and details.
Over all, our guests were floored by the beauty of the venue, loved the tiny touches Paula and Mark have thought of, and both my husband and my bridal party loved the getting ready spaces for both bride and groom. Everyone had a blast, and we would do it all over again- I can't recommend The Barn on New River and Paula enough!

ng inside and out and you can tell no detail was spared. It is nestled in the most spectacular little valley with amazing views and a feeling of serenity. The best thing however about this venue is that Paula the owner is top of the line. She is professional, on time, and truly cares about each brides experience on her property. Highly recommend this place.

usly gave us a tour). The high ceilings, chandeliers, wonderful aroma of wood, and rustic charm make it a truly charming place. This property is truly enchanting, and we barely needed decorations because it is so beautifully designed. The open windows and doors provide a wonderful flow from indoors to outdoors, the sound system was well done, and parking was more than adequate . When we met Paula (the owner) she was so warm and inviting and has been so easy to work with. Throughout the planning process, Paula was kind, responsive, open to ideas, and has exquisite taste. From arrival on the day before our daughter’s wedding to leaving the day after (Paula’s gift to every bride is time), we were made to feel like the only wedding party in the world! The ceremony was outside facing the pond and beautiful fountain, and everything about the day was magical. The options for indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception locations were a major selling point as we knew we'd have a great setting whatever the weather. It is a truly stunning place and the grounds are out of this world. Our guests were charmed by the beauty of the grounds of the venue, the barn itself, and our guests raved about how lovely everything was. We couldn't have asked for a better venue than The Barn on New River, and if we were to do it all again, we'd 100% make the same choice with our wedding venue. In addition, this venue offers a striking cabin nestled among the trees, and sleeps 12 people.
