Paula is AMAZING to work with. She is accommodating and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure everything goes off without a hitch. We woke up to a severe cold front, and while it was sunny and as beautiful as ever at the Barn, it was a chilly 36 degrees at ceremony time. Paula took every step imaginable to make sure our guests were comfortable, even going so far as to get a massive heater for the barn. She worked with us every step of the way. And the property? Words don't do it justice. It was absolutely perfect for the fall wedding I imagined. Secluded and beautiful, Paula and her husband ensured the grounds were meticulously kept. I'm so grateful for the experience.

From our very first tour to our dream wedding, The Barn on New River exceeded every expectation! We loved every minute of our time on the property! The barn is so beautiful inside and the scenery outdoors is spectacular! Paula and her staff were so friendly and helpful answering all of my questions! Having the venue from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning made it so much less stressful as well! It’s obvious that this venue cares about the couple’s experience! I would definitely choose this venue a thousand times over!

The Barn on New River is spectacular; all of my guests came up to me and commented how beautiful the venue, setting, and the barn were! The barn is elegant with chandeliers and the original wood look! The mountains are a prefect ceremony background to the outside arbor and fountain!! Paula has also done an awesome job with the gardens, the flowers were blooming and she was very helpful!!

The Barn on New River is the closest thing to a perfect venue. We were the first couple to tour the property after Covid quarantine restrictions started lifting, and we instantly fell in love. Paula and her team are marvelous and will do anything to make sure the couple feels special. They had everything we needed for our big day. They were very flexible and catered to our requests, as well as genuinely caring about us and our day. The cabin on site and the honeymoon suite were both amazing and extremely convenient for us and members of our bridal party. We are so proud to say we are a part of the Barn on New River family, and we hope to go back soon! Overall, we absolutely loved our experience at the Barn and would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants a memorable and beautiful wedding!

Barn on New River was a dream venue for our wedding. We knew it was perfect the moment we pulled up. Paula is extremely friendly, accommodating and pleasant and made our planning process enjoyable. The grounds are gorgeous, the barn is beautiful and we were so excited to get married there. Our guests can not stop talking about how stunning it was and West Jefferson is an added bonus.

It is difficult to describe just how beautiful this venue is. The Barn on New River is just overflowing with natural beauty, elegance, and peacefulness. My husband and I live in Charlotte, and we were astonished to realize that just a short 2-hour drive will take you to such an untouched and private escape. The property has everything you could ever want for your wedding day, including the New River, endless mountain views, an incredible Dahlia garden, numerous ponds, and the most elegant and classic Barn that we had seen. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to everything the Barn on New River has to offer as well as the above-and-beyond support we received from the Venue owner Paula, and the Venue’s day-of-coordinator, Caroline. My husband and myself were both told by so many of our guests what an amazing and beautiful venue we chose. I could not imagine getting married in a more perfect and incredible location and we are so grateful for the memories that we have here!

We knew from the minute we first toured the Barn on New River that it was the one for us! It is absolutely stunning and the perfect venue if you want to be surrounded by the mountains and the outdoors! Our wedding truly was perfect mainly due to this being our venue! Paula is sooo amazing and will make you feel right at home. We did our rehearsal dinner and wedding at the venue and she was there every time we needed something- she is the definition of Southern Hospitality! Our guests were blown away and had so many different places to explore- from the barn to the flower garden to the river to the cornhole and fire pit! If you want the most gorgeous photos BOOK this venue! I can't stop looking at our photos from the flower garden and sunset photos on the mountain! Hands down the best venue in the high country!

This venue is absolutely stunning. The property is perfectly manicured, and has amazing views every direction you look. You cannot take a bad picture there. Paula and Caroline were extremely helpful in the coordination both prior to, and during our ceremony and reception. We could not have done it without them. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. I highly recommend it to any couple looking to have the perfect setting for their wedding day.

This is hands down the best venue in the blue ridge mountains (coming from an Ashe County local couple)!! This venue is so stunning and needs minimal decoration to make it feel elegant and classy but still have a relaxed atmosphere. Paula is filled with so much wedding knowledge and provides a list of recommended vendors, which would be great for those who are not local. Paula is quick to respond to texts and calls and always eased my mind. The bridal suite, groomsman room, and honeymoon suite were so convenient to have right on site. The cabin on the farm was clean, spacious, and has everything your family/friends need. Mark, Paula’s husband, works so hard during the week prior to the wedding to maintain the landscaping and beautiful dahlia garden. I would also highly recommend using Caroline Orcutt as your wedding coordinator (add on service). She is beyond organized and makes sure everything runs smoothly the day of your wedding. She is quick to response to emails, texts, and calls. She also gave us tons of suggestions that would fit in our budget. We could not recommend this venue more and thank the Domske’s and Caroline for all they did for us to make our day so special!!

If I could give a million stars I would! We can honestly say our wedding day was the best day of our lives! And a large part of it had to do with how beautiful the venue was, how amazing the owners are, and all of the vendors we had! The barn on the new river is absolutely gorgeous for starters but the thing that caught our eye was really the package. They only do 1 wedding per weekend which means extra focus on making your weekend everything you dreamed of. We were able to have the rehearsal dinner at the barn and they have a cabin just down the road that was perfect for family to stay in. Paula was a GEM! I mean by the end of the whole experience she felt like a family member. She was so patient and carrying and bent over backwards to make sure everything was PERFECT. The recommended vendors list they provided was spot on and she knows all of them so it made everything flow sooo easily! The Barn also has an extra service you can add on for a day of coordinator which was so helpful. Caroline (the coordinator) took care of everything and really helped me relax. I really trusted her to keep everything on time and organized. I’m control freak so my biggest concern was I wasn’t going to really enjoy myself but with her help I was able to really live in the moment. I’m honestly so sad that our wedding is over because it means I don’t get to see them but I’m holding onto hope that my siblings get married soon so that we can get them hitched here! Honestly praying that my sister or brother will get engaged soon so that I can make them get married here! It was absolutely magical for us, our family, and friends!

The one and only venue we ever went to look at! From start to finish, Paula is just the epitome of a wedding venue owner!! Her communication during a pandemic and willing to work with us in any way possible to make sure our wedding was beyond perfect for us was more than we could have ever asked for! We did the Thursday-Sunday package and I strongly recommend this! We were so relaxed and stayed atthe cabin on property - which is huge and PERFECT! Completely stocked with any and everything you need and super clean! The barn left people speechless when they arrived, telling us it was like something from a fairytale! I strongly encourage you to check this venue out if you are looking for a location that has all the amenities- beautiful bridal suite, awesome grooms suite, kitchen for your catering staff, huge bathrooms that are nice and clean for guests, the most perfect photo backdrops and an amazing, laid back owner♥️♥️♥️

I would highly recommend hosting your wedding or special event at The Barn on New River! The venue is set back in the mountains and is private with tons of parking and incredible landscape. The venue contact, Paula was a delight to work with! Her response time was most times in a matter of minutes and she was overly accommodating to help us connect with vendors when we weren't able to get a response on our own. Words can't express how well designed her Barn is for weddings! First its crystal chandeliers and lighting soften up the rustic barn feel, The 2nd floor that overlooks the first floor is breathtaking and finally the large barn doors and windows that can be open provide the perfect environment to bring take in the beautiful landscape while having your event in doors. She has a bar built in as well as a kitchen area for caters to work in private. Lastly I have to say that the Sonos Sound System that throughout the barn, ceremony area and outdoors led us to save a ton. I can not think of one thing that this venue doesn't offer! If I can give you any advise, it would be to START your search by visiting this location first. I can assure you that you won't find anything more beautiful or anyone who is more personal and really cares about taking care of her client!

Planning a wedding during Covid was extremely stressful and, let’s be honest, kind of a bummer. However, The Barn on the New River was able to make it one of the very best days Of our life. To say that the owners, Paula and Mark, exceeded our expectations would be a complete understatement. They are an absolute dream to work with and take so much of the stress out of the planning process. The venue is absolutely perfect full of the most picture perfect backdrops and wonderful, thoughtful touches. The barn alone is a dream along with the bride and groom suite which provide the perfect, comfortable place to get ready on day of. The honeymoon suite is perfect and such a nice quiet escape after saying I do. The cabin on the property comfortably accommodated 10 of our family members and they absolutely loved it. Our wedding weekend was nothing short of magical, it served as the perfect escape for our closest family and friends from all the craziness of 2020 and we can’t thank Paula and Mark enough for all they did to make it that way.

I cannot say enough great things about this venue and the owner, Paula! The venue is beautiful but also very functional. Paula was very responsive and accommodating and always had a positive attitude! Her and her family have done an amazing job and we could not have imagined a better place to get married. If you’re looking for a gorgeous mountain venue with a laid back and amazing owner then this is the place! I promise :)

Even with COVID-19 Paula made sure the day was as perfect as possible and everything I had dreamed of. The property is simply gorgeous and cannot be topped! Wonderful, wonderful venue!

The best venue for wedding and reception. The owners are the most pleasant and helpful people you can hope for on your wedding day. Always available to answer any questions. The Barn is so amazing and beautiful. Has a suite for the bridal party and the grooms party. Can not say enough about this place it’s wonderful.

Paula is absolutely fantastic. Not only is the barn and surrounding land kept beautiful but she made sure that everything was taken care of and helped with absolutely anything we needed! We asked her to step in and make sure we were on schedule with everything and she did an amazing job! The suites were perfect for getting ready the day of and she made sure there was no added stress on us. The atmosphere is so welcoming and fun but also emphasizes the beautiful scenery of the mountains and New River. We couldn't have found a more perfect place to celebrate our marriage!

The Barn on New River was the absolutely perfect venue for our wedding! The view of the Appalachian Mountains, paired with the landscaping made for the most beautiful background for our outdoor ceremony. The Barn itself was wonderful for a reception as well- beautiful wood and elegant chandeliers made it great for the elegant and natural vibe I was going for. All our guests fit perfectly for both dinner and dancing, with the patio being a great outdoor space for cocktail hour and extra dancing at the reception. Paula (and her husband Mark) are a true pleasure to work with! Paula has wonderful vendor suggestions and is there for the bride every step of the planning process, while Mark is the jack-of-all-trades handyman who jumped to our aid more than once! We stayed in the cabin on the property the week leading up to the wedding, and it was not only very nice and well priced, but the perfect home base for last minute planning and details. Over all, our guests were floored by the beauty of the venue, loved the tiny touches Paula and Mark have thought of, and both my husband and my bridal party loved the getting ready spaces for both bride and groom. Everyone had a blast, and we would do it all over again- I can't recommend The Barn on New River and Paula enough!

This venue is perfect in every way, this is a wedding planners dream! The barn was designed specifically to give all wedding vendors exactly what they need. It is absolutely stunning inside and out and you can tell no detail was spared. It is nestled in the most spectacular little valley with amazing views and a feeling of serenity. The best thing however about this venue is that Paula the owner is top of the line. She is professional, on time, and truly cares about each brides experience on her property. From the minute we arrived and drove up to the Barn on New River, we got the wow factor. We fell in love instantly upon walking inside the barn (Aspen, the owner’s daughter graciously gave us a tour). The high ceilings, chandeliers, wonderful aroma of wood, and rustic charm make it a truly charming place. This property is truly enchanting, and we barely needed decorations because it is so beautifully designed. The open windows and doors provide a wonderful flow from indoors to outdoors, the sound system was well done, and parking was more than adequate . When we met Paula (the owner) she was so warm and inviting and has been so easy to work with. Throughout the planning process, Paula was kind, responsive, open to ideas, and has exquisite taste. From arrival on the day before our daughter’s wedding to leaving the day after (Paula’s gift to every bride is time), we were made to feel like the only wedding party in the world! The ceremony was outside facing the pond and beautiful fountain, and everything about the day was magical. The options for indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception locations were a major selling point as we knew we'd have a great setting whatever the weather. It is a truly stunning place and the grounds are out of this world. Our guests were charmed by the beauty of the grounds of the venue, the barn itself, and our guests raved about how lovely everything was. We couldn't have asked for a better venue than The Barn on New River, and if we were to do it all again, we'd 100% make the same choice with our wedding venue. In addition, this venue offers a striking cabin nestled among the trees, and sleeps 12 people.

The Barn on New River was definitely a great choice for us! The barn has the most beautiful and elegant landscape, lighting, and design. So many great photo opportunities. I loved that the venue allowed us to be outdoors and indoors throughout the wedding. Paula is so kind and easy to work with. She made the wedding planning process much easier! The honeymoon suite is very quaint and such a convenient amenity. We loved every aspect of the barn, and would highly recommend it!

The Barn on the New River is a drop dead gorgeous wedding venue and property! We made so many memories here and could not have imagined getting married anywhere else. The chandeliers are stunning and the views are breathtaking. Paula answered all of our questions and was always eager to help us in any way! Barn on the New is a beautiful new venue. They hosted my daughters wedding back in September and it was perfect. Everything was great and Mrs. Domske was very nice to work with. The tables, chairs and ceremony chairs were all included. A pretty place to wed, in beautiful Ashe County!!

The Barn on New River is very special and was the perfect place for our wedding! The location is naturally beautiful, but the barn is truly stunning! The barn is classic, elegant, with a touch of rustic glam that makes for the perfect indoor/outdoor venue. The pond and the river made for amazing back drops for our pictures! Our guests loved the outdoor games and fire pit. Paula, the owner, has put so much love into the bridal suite, groom’s room, and honeymoon suite which made our weekend all the more special. All of the spaces were clean and decorated beautifully! We cannot say enough wonderful things about this property – highly, highly recommend!

The Barn on New River is something very special. It is beautiful, fun, and has an easy elegance. Along with our guests, we loved the indoor/outdoor aspect of the barn. The pictures are absolutely beautiful from our big day. The bridal suite and the honey moon suite were beautiful and very comfy! The cabin on the property is adorable and spacious. Paula the owner is kind, hard working, responsive, open to ideas, and has amazing taste. It says a lot about her that no one knew it was only the 2nd wedding ever to be on the property. I can't wait to see what else she comes up with. So many thanks to her and her family for making the day so special.

I was truly impressed by the Barn on the New River because of the natural beauty surrounding the venue, and the beauty of the barn itself. It's a unique location right on the river which allows wedding party to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and even kayak if their hearts desire! I loved the way the barn is situated across from pond making the perfect picture. Paula has designed a space for all guests to enjoy! The on site cabin is so nice and convenient for the bridal party. It too is clean and decorated beautifully! I'd recommend this venue to anyone who loves rustic glam!
