About this vendor
The Bayer Estate is an expansive oceanfront property in the East Honolulu community of Aina Haina on the Hawaiian island of O‘ahu. Shaded by mature sea grape, milo, and ironwood trees, the mauka and oceanfront gardens of the estate provide idyllic settings for festive seaside gatherings. In lieu of a garden wedding, an intimate indoor candelit ceremony may be held in the privacy of the Parlor, abloom with fragrant fresh floral arrangements and an old-fashioned garland. Located just beyond the Parlor is the breezy ocean Sun Roon, where one can enjoy views of the flower gardens and the sparkling waves of the blue Pacific. Potted palms and heirloom china sitting atop the lace-topped tables enhance the room's simple elegance and charm.

Hi!! I never write reviews but I wanted to be candid with my experience for future brides and grooms to be! So our wedding was a 5/5 experience but management is definitely old sch...
ool and could use a lot of work. There is no texting, only a landline, and an email to work with. Good luck reaching anyone via email.
To have a 6 hour wedding with 50 people, it costs roughly 10k for the space (about average when you factor in lighting, furniture and seating at other venues) but you have to pay for you own prep time. Only an hour is complimentary, so if you want to add any personal touches at all you basically need to pay for that time. Considering you’re paying 10k, the fact that one is not allowed to leave decor at the venue is super unreasonable. There was no event going on the day prior except for our own rehearsal. So we were to bring everything we could on our own day of, and beg our wedding planner to help. They claimed it was for “liability purpose” yet I was allowed to leave my dress grossing 2800 at the venue and not my $10 box of flowers… and the lightning that was already hanging cost $750 to allegedly rehang. Who knows why that needed $750.
There were claims that there was not enough space to leave any belongings or purchase enough chairs for my guests, but from what I can see it’s just badly organized. There’s a massive stack of CDs in front of the bridal room coated with so much dust you can barely read the titles. There’s all kinds of knick knacks everywhere by the piano. The dust in the bridal room is bore line scary when you look closely, the chandelier had dead flowers and cobwebs. The frames are coated with dust. Again, the wedding itself was beautiful but for 10k you’d think someone could be paid $200 to come in there to clean. I sincerely have no idea what my 10k went towards since the Morgage on the house is non existent according to Zillow.
Emails were rarely answered in a timely manner, which is tough if you’re a bride organizing almost everything. and their sweet sweet dog who was advertised as a ring bearer apparently only performed this service one time prior and got side tracked and pulled my flower girl into the bushes. I love that kind of silliness and don’t blame the dog one bit. But it certainly feels like false advertising to say that this dog is willing to do the service but come day of my planner told me of all the weddings she’d aided there, she’s never seen it happen once. We had a great wedding, but it’s massively overpriced for how little effort is going in on the home owner’s end. A beautiful scam. 3 stars for my guest’s wonderful experience but not to my own chaotic one.
My wedding at the Bayer Estate could not have gone more perfectly! After our original venue notified us of a double booking 9 days before our wedding, I raked my brain to try to fi...
gure out what to do. I am lucky enough to know the owners of the Estate, and quickly called up Sooz, who quickly calmed my fears and we immediately got to planning. In just a few days, we threw together the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception I could have ever dreamed of. She listened to every request that I had and gave me helpful pointers on what might work best. The Estate is BEAUTIFUL and accommodated my guests perfectly. Every photo I have seen of our wedding brings tears to my eyes, the back porch for lunch, the garden for pupus, the backyard for our intimate ceremony, and THE SURF OUT BACK for an epic post-wedding overhead party wave my husband of 10 minutes. Truly the best experience possible and the most beautiful wedding possible. If you are having a small wedding, look no further. The Bayer Estate is truly a gem located just outside the hustle and bustle of town.
I had my wedding reception here in December 2013 and am SOOO happy I did. It made my wedding exactly the way I had envisioned it and made the whole reception relaxed, but classy. W...
e didn't need much in terms of deco because the whole place has such ambiance! I give them two thumbs way way up!!! Only downside is the strict head count but if you have a small group (less than 60 ppl), then this should be your venue!
I had a vision of a private outdoor wedding over two years ago when we got engaged; and as soon as I walked through the front gate it was love. My dress eventually had a similar f...
eeling however both of us knew that this was the place. There was, and continues to be such an amazingly warm and welcoming feeling you get from spending time there. The owner of the property, Sooz, is the consumate host and she exudes graciousness each time we've either met or spoken with her. Their dog Teddy also sold it for my future husband last year when we booked our day but which was the icing on the cake for us doggie loving people. We were the happiest newlyweds on this past Labor Day and some of our friends and family are still talking about our wonderful day. Thank you Sooz, it was unbelievably special to be there
The pictures don't compare on how amazing the estate is. Everything was perfect; Sooz made everything beautiful and was easy to work with. Whatever I wanted or wanted to change s...
he did, she made great suggestions as well.
Our ceremony was held at the Bayer Estate and we are very happy with the experience. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and very intimate. It is, however, quite expensive on an hou...
rly basis and because it is in a residential setting you cannot have a late (or loud) reception on the premises. The only reason why I would rate this venue as less than a 4 is because of the price. But if you want a more intimate beach wedding (without going too far from Waikiki) this is really the best option.
Sooz, the owner of the Estate, was very helpful in the wedding planning process. (We had a destination wedding.) She recommended vendors that have worked with her in the past...a...
nd this was very helpful to us. It was a lot easier getting in touch with her through email than to reach her by phone. My questions were always answered...even if it took a while... She was very pleasant to work with and when we visited the Estate (2x before wedding and 1x after) we were never rushed.
It was a private waterfront location. We were able to take beautiful pictures and watch the sunset.;It is a smaller venue for intimate ceremonies/receptions.
