WHEN WE INITIALLY MET WITH THE CATERER IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE. HOWEVER WHEN THERE WAS A STAFF CHANGE MY CONFIDENCE IN THEM WEAKENED. ALL IN ALL THE FOOD WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS FOOD I EVER HAD AT A WEDDING. THE SERVERS WERE SO FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT IT WAS DEFINITELY A FAIRY TALE COME TRUE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE WAS WE DID NOT HAVE OUR FULL CHAMPAGNE TOAST THAT WE PAID FOR AND THE GLASSES WE PROVIDED WERE NOT USED. MY GROOM AND I HAD CHAMPAGNE BUT OUR GLASSES WERE RETURNED TO US BROKEN.
We had an afternoon wedding with a cheese and fruit station ($10 per person per hour) and a pasta bar ($13 per person per hour) and top shelf open bar ($12 per adult per hour). I didn't have a chance to try the cheese and fruit station but it looked beautiful.
The pasta bar was fantastic. There were two stations: one with pre-prepared options if you didn't want to wait and the other was a chef prepared station. Both were very, very delicious and we received a lot of compliments.
The wait staff that bussed tables were very efficient and friendly. Bar staff and chefs were quick and friendly.
So why 3 stars? The catering manager. She was terrible at returning my emails and phone calls. She didn't bring the amplification system that we paid for, so none of our friends and family were able to hear our vows and we had to give our toasts through the State Park Ranger's Jeep (okay, that last part was awesome!). She made my husband's 93 year old grandmother wait 15 minutes to get a ride from the drop off area to the actual venue. (The ride was pre-arranged plus my MIL called when they arrived. Our venue was on a promenade above a beach and the only vehicle access is with golf carts.) And, finally, she didn't pay the band (subcontracted to Beachcomber) until 2 weeks after the wedding, despite his contract stating that he should be paid the day of. The whole situation was incredibly frustrating (esp. dealing with the band issue while on our honeymoon) and I would not use their services again if they have the same manager.
