About this vendor
Located in the heart of Topeka, KS, The Beacon is a renovated wedding venue that combines vintage charm with modern versatility. This downtown gem resides in the former Topeka Woman’s Club building, a property that was constructed in 1924. Brimming with style and panache, it now attracts soon-to-be newlyweds and revelers alike. With a wholesome and vibrant atmosphere that pays homage to the buzz of the Roaring 1920s, this historic getaway invites you to say “I do”.
Owners Shelby, Nic, Courtney, and Chris saw a wonderful opportunity to restore the beauty of an old-world building, giving something back to the Topeka community. Since purchasing it in 2020, the team has got to work, making significant renovations to the white oak floors, stained glass windows, and lighting fixtures. Conveniently situated beside the Kansas Statehouse, this classic-meets-contemporary venue is home to a variety of event spaces. You can pledge your love in the Theater, an ambient space that features a balcony and nine stained glass windows. After, you and your guests are welcome to celebrate in the Ballroom, an Art Deco-inspired hall that is adorned with pendant lights. Meals can be enjoyed in the plush Dining Room. If you require a more intimate setting, the Founders, Sunflower, and BlueStem rooms would all be ideal.
Capable of accommodating several hundred of your friends and family, The Beacon will work with you to create a bespoke package. You will be granted exclusive access to the property, and you have the freedom to decorate the spaces however you see fit. Their venue coordinator will be on hand to assist and make sure that everything runs smoothly. Event items such as tables, chairs, microphones, and a top-quality sound system will be provided.

This venue was absolutely wonderful. Courtney helped us figure out all the little details that we wanted to make our day special. The character of this old building added to the ambiance. If I could do the day over again, I would choose The Beacon over and over. Absolutely wonderful experience.
Courtney and all of the people were amazing to work with. Courtney was helpful and always quick to answer emails with random questions.
Our wedding reception was at The Beacon, June 2023. We were very impressed with the communication leading up to the event working with Courtney to make sure that we had all of the details lined out. Invoices were sent out timely as well as contracts. We had a meeting close to the date to ensure that our day would run smoothly and to formulate a floor plan. The event staff was great and very flexible with our timeline as our day was complicated with rain. They were always available to answer any questions we had and to assist with all of our needs! Nic was there the entire day and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! We utilized the dining room in addition to the library for our guest list of ~240 and our bridal parties got ready in the Sunflower Room and Bluestem Room. Our guests kept complimenting the beautiful venue space and it was the perfect place for our special day! We would highly recommend this space for all events!
The Beacon has to be the most beautiful venue in Topeka. From the hardwood floors, to stained glass, and the antique gold features... it's absolutely perfect. There are so many huge rooms to pick from to make your wedding day whatever you want it to be!!! I used the Theatre for my ceremony, Founders Room for cocktail hour, Dining Room for dinner, Ballroom for the dance, Library for rehearsal dinner, and both the getting ready rooms! And you can pick any of these to best suit your needs!!!
My wedding was on 4/22/23 and though I half-expected it to rain, I never was overly worried about it because the venue has SO MANY gorgeous areas for photos! All of the windows make for perfect, soft lighting.
Courtney at the Beacon, responded quickly, was professional, and kind!!! I can't recommend this team enough. The venue staff (bartenders, venue coordinators, security, and cleaning) were all great to work with!
I loved that we could choose our own caterer! It made my options that much wider to fit our needs. I was a big fan of getting to choose whether I brought in my own alcohol or used one of their packages, which were very affordable!
If you're looking for a venue in Northeast Kansas, you have to go with this one. You get the best bang for your buck in the most stunning, historic venue on this side of Kansas. Thank you to everyone at the Beacon for making my wedding day beautiful and easy!
The Beacon staff were really well organized and attentive to our needs. They were also very flexible and made sure to create the day that we envisioned. Communication was always prompt and we could tell that our business was valued. They had a solid booking process and we felt hands on from start to finish. With 3 floors and many different rooms it is easy to create the event that you want. The building is beautiful and really added to the aesthetic of the wedding; we had so many guests tell us how beautiful and unique our wedding was because of this venue. Staff were friendly and went above and beyond when we had questions during the day of the wedding. This is the venue for you if your wedding is going to be in Topeka!
