The Bean Market

The space was originally built in 1936, and became an ideal spot for bean farmers to trade their crops. Its success helped the city survive The Great Depression, and saw farmers visiting from all over the nation for three decades. In the 1960s, its large open indoor space was primarily used for storage. In 1999, The Community Museum Society Inc. bought the property with the mission to preserve its history and community influence. The venue is now run by a team of skilled, dedicated staff ready to give couples the wedding of their dreams. When not running the city’s farmer’s market, The Bean Market is used for couples to party out their first hours of marriage in style. Whether you want a small intimate ceremony or a large extravagant soiree, the property is versatile enough to suit any couple’s theme. The Bean Market features a total of 8,500 square feet of space, and a 5,800-square-foot open floor. This Lake City gem includes a 750-square-foot stage, a 14-foot projection screen, and a high-quality sound system for your DJ to use. Windows all around the venue give you and your attendees plenty of natural light to bask in all afternoon. A catering kitchen with an ice maker is on site, to give caterers a sense of ease as they prepare their scrumptious dishes. Chairs and tables provide enough seating space for 300 guests.
