The Big Strong Men

We had a great experience with the big strong men when they played our wedding reception. The band was very responsive during the planning processes and helped guide song selections for the event. They even learned a special song for me and my husband. Our family and friends were packed on the dance floor all night long. Literally no one was sitting at tables, they couldn’t help but get up and dance! The band played an excellent variety of music, from Johnny Cash, to Michael Jackson, to some more modern songs like uptown funk. We got complements on the band all night long. The band also played and ipod playlist during cocktail hour and dinner, had had a mic set up for speeches. We also asked Victor to play keyboard during our ceremony (for a very reasonable additional fee) which he did an awesome job at. He again learned a special song that my brother sang to during the ceremony. I can’t recommend this band highly enough. Forget the DJ, this live band added so much energy and character to out special night.

Being a musician myself, I had spent quite a bit of time looking through the vast sea of online profiles of bands to find one that would be a good fit for my wedding. My fiancee and I wanted a band that is young enough to play with energy all through the night, but still experienced enough to make sure everything is running smoothly. What we ended up with was beyond anything we could have expected. I can say without a doubt that my wedding day was the best day of my life, and the Big Strong Men were the driving force of the most awesome and unforgettable party my family has ever experienced. From the beginning, they were always in good communication with me, helping me find good songs for the first dances (we actually ended up doing "first songs" instead - where I performed "In My Life" with my mother onstage and had the Big Strong Men as our backing band!) My bride also performed a song in Mandarin Chinese with her two sisters, which the band also learned without a problem. It sounded great, and we ended up getting tons of compliments. Then came the non-stop dance party. These guys had such a great selection of the American classics and also songs from when I was in college that I would look across the dance floor to see my aunts and uncles dancing alongside my college and high school friends, and even my grandma, who uses a walker, was up on the floor having a blast. What a trip. I was just home in Milwaukee visiting my parents and they are still reeling from all the compliments the rest of my family has been giving them, many of which were about the band being the best wedding band they've ever seen. We also got to watch our wedding video when we were there and we were all laughing and got such a kick out of seeing our family go so crazy with pure enthusiasm. These guys truly do know how to have fun. I'm so glad we chose them!
