About this vendor
The Black Tux is a wedding tuxedo outfitting company operating out of Richmond, VA. This skilled team of attire experts have revolutionized the tuxedo game, with a service that focuses on convenience, style, and quality. With their easy-to-use online platform, you can design the perfect suit that is then shipped to your door. Whether you are looking to rent or buy, they will help you create the whole ensemble, from collar to cufflinks.
The Black Tux has been helping men both look and feel their best at special events since 2012. While suit-shopping for his wedding, co-founder Andrew discovered that finding the perfect tux was both an expensive and time-consuming process. With the help of Patrick, one of his groomsmen, Andrew decided to help future grooms-to-be find the perfect suit and The Black Tux was born.
The Black Tux has a unique process designed to help you find the perfect suit. You will first be asked to answer a few questions to determine the perfect size and style. Your suit will then be shipped out for you to try out for 48 hours, completely free of charge. If you choose to rent, your suit will be delivered two weeks before your occasion to ensure it fits. Should you need any alterations, a second suit will be shipped free of charge within two days of your original order. If you are looking to buy, your suit will be shipped upon ordering and a free exchange process is offered should there be anything you want to alter. Alternatively, you can also visit one of their many showrooms and try before you buy.

I made 7 appointments for my fiancé and his groomsmen for today. Between the hours 11-2p. I’ve had it booked since may of this year, got a confirmation email for each appointment 2...
days ago and Erica, from your Arlington location decided to cancel MY appointments the day BEFORE my appointments. And why??? After chasing for the answer, it’s because they weren’t staffed….
After a month of being scheduled, confirmed emails..this is disappointing, disrespectful, insensitive, inconsiderate, unprofessional and what’s worse, whoever Andi is from the same location? Decided to respond to my email to Erica, gaffing me off. “We apologize for the inconvenience “ ?!?! The ONLY reason I sent my fiancé and his groomsmen to y’all was because of his David’s bridal treated me and my bridal party. Y’all need to hire better people that KNOW and COMPREHEND what customer service is. Andi and Erica are what made me and my business are going elsewhere. They didn’t treat me like a person. They treated me like nothing.
My husband used The Black Tux for himself, his groomsmen, and our ushers. The suits arrived on time (even for our destination wedding) and well packaged. Shipping was easy and cust...
omer service was helpful. However, color options are limited and the sizing was totally off. My husband got measured at The Black Tux location in Bethesda but his suit arrived WAY too big. He had to take it to a local tailor at the last minute before the wedding. The same thing happened with one his groomsmen and one of our ushers. Their suits were baggy and unfitted despite having specified accurate sizing. In retrospect, we would chose a different company for our attire rentals.
We were very disappointed in our rental experience for a wedding last week. First, during the ordering process, studs and cuff links were not part of the order. If I had not "wonde...
red" about them post-order and gone back in and added, the 4 gentlemen in my house and the 3 in my sister's would not have had them. Turns out they were the only ones who did! Other groomsmen weren't so lucky, they didn't realize they weren't included until the day of the wedding when getting dressed. There was nothing in the ordering process that referenced or prompted you. When the first batch of tuxes arrived, one of the shirts was ripped up the back and one of the jackets had one sleeve shorter than the other. We had issues with some of the neck sizes, but they don't offer half sizes, so we had to order up and the shirts appeared biggish. We were able to get replacements quickly, but needed to hem on our end. Black tux will give you $15 per hem with receipt but that didn't cover half of the costs to hem here in the DC area. My nephew, very tall, had ordered 3 months in advance, had his tux arrive late and they informed him they didn't have shoes so he had to go buy. The groom, who had been measured at Nordstrom, had a vest that was too tight and shoes that were ridiculously creased and should not have been in circulation. When putting the ties on at the venue, they were cheap, not crisp, and were always sort of floppy or off. I can't put my finger on the issue with the ties. There were about 20 people in Black Tux rentals the day of the wedding and it became a HUGE joke as the coat buttons popped off left and right. The venue owner sewed a number back on, but it didn't stop, even popping off at the altar. It became a game to see how many would be gone by the end of the night. Overall, I would not recommend as I think going somewhere local, getting fitted, making sure it all fit beforehand, is worth it regardless of the fact that they are typically due back the next day. It has to be easier than packing everything up and shipping back 6 boxes for 4 people due to all of the replacements.
I really thought this company was a good company until now. I used the black tux company to do my wedding. I purchased my tuxedo from them and did all my groomsman rentals with the...
m. I bought my tuxedo and tried it on when I got it everything was good. My wedding got postponed due to Covid so my wedding didn’t happen until a year later which was 2 days ago August 21. This was the first time I put my tuxedo on besides when I tried it on. Halfway through my wedding reception the pants ripped on the back next to the pocket which is not a stress point on pants. I spent over $500 on this tuxedo and when I called them the day after my wedding the black tux company told me they will not give me a full refund even though there product was defective. I offered to send it back for a refund and still a no. If I wanted cheap shit I would of gone to Walmart but I wanted good quality stuff. Well the black tux company in my opinion is cheap shit and they don’t stand behind there product.
STAY AWAY FROM THE BLACK TUX COMPANY
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! I am shocked by the number of high reviews here and I rarely post reviews but I feel the need to give fair warning to all newlyweds-to-be. My wedding is in 1...
0 days. My brother and BIL went to get sized and placed their order at one of their stores over a month ago. Two days ago my brother found out via email they were out of stock in his pants. My BIL did not get any email but hadn’t received his tux 2 weeks prior as the company promises so he contacts the company and finds out they’re also out of stock for his pants.
My brother has tried calling customer support 4 different times now, each time they promise they’re going to sort it out and have pants tailored to his fit and sent. And each time he calls back to confirm the shipment he finds out nothing has been done. Their customer support is HORRIFIC. It is outsourced to a foreign country to people who literally have no idea what to do or how to troubleshoot their shitty inventory.
If you don’t have the inventory, you should not allow customers to make the rental purchase if you can’t promise to send the rental in time. And if you don’t have something, don’t wait until the last minute to inform us because now we’re totally screwed with finding an alternative option. AVOID AVOID AVOID!
My husband, his groomsmen, and both of our dads ordered their tuxes for our wedding from the Black Tux and we have nothing but good things to say about our experience. Everyone inv...

re able to accommodate any size changes very quickly. Tuxedos were nicely pressed (even with the shipping) and the guys looked so sharp. Excellent fit and the style was modern and slim. Highly recommend over the generic tuxedo rental shops such as Men's Warehouse and Jos A Banks.
Excellent customer service. Great quality. Very handy when one of the tuxes didn't fit my groomsmen, we just called up and they overnighted one to us that was perfect.
It was easy to order. Came right to our door. Even though there was a small mistake, it was fixed quickly. And very convenient to return.
The price was reasonable, the look and fit was excellent and the ease of ordering and returning was noteworthy!
Loved the Black Tux! The suits themselves are high quality and reasonably priced, and the customer service experience was great. We had some last-minute hiccups with delivery (due ...
to a user error issue with one of the groomsmen) but every person who answered the phone--we called A LOT--was incredibly helpful, accountable, and consistent. I was initially concerned about handling the process online, but given the quality of the suits (especially relative to the price point), combined with super responsive customer service, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Black Tux.
Although there were a few problems with my order, The Black Tux did everything in their power to make it right. In the end, any and all issues were resolved, my tux fit perfectly, ...

service was incredible. The boxing and packaging was absolutely 5 star material on any scale and I will definitely rent from them again in the near future without doubting their variety of suits will suit my need.
Loved it. Easy to use, everything arrived early and the return was simple.

I'm a trans guy who is very short and chubby so rentals always look horrible on me. I saw the The Black Tux online and figured I give it a shot because in store rentals are always ...
bad for me anyway. I couldn't have been happier with choosing the black tux, as soon as my tux came in because the length was perfect and the shoulders fit great. It was the first time I had a tux that looked right for me and not like I was a little kid in my dads clothes.
The staff at The Black Tux were amazing! We ended up having to switch a groomsman & they were able to add our new guy & get him set up online that same day. Very impressed with the...
ir customer service - most emails were returned same day. The suits were good quality & everyone was handsome & happy!
Superb customer service, and the rentals, well the proofs in the pudding, look at my groomsmen in these photos. http://www.rondillonphotography.com/photographer-houston-wedding-eng...
agement-bridal/ These suits look better than any other wedding I'v been in and I am a seasoned groomsmen, however, this time I was able to select my look and that's what I loved about the BLK TUX experience. While I own my personal tux, I wanted my groomsmen to share that personalized/tailored look, the BLK TUX exceeded those expectations! Thank you for making my wedding day top notch!
Everything was easy! The tux looked great...amazing. I had my doubts about a service like this because I had never used an online tux rental "place". Thank you all so much. I wish ...
I could send pics. I wanted to keep my tux. It fit perfectly! Thia is usually so hard to do with my bold, military frame...my legs are tree trunks! It even came qith paid return packaging...and tape! I know that attention to details is the key and they did just that. Great job and thanks again Black Tux.
Customer service was awesome; the tux fit excellent; and it was extremely easy to order & return!

ize for the whole tux ensemble in time for the wedding event. Forgot borrowed cufflinks and sent them back by mistake. The customer service person without hesitation was committed to return ship the items after receipt of the return shipment. Excellent customer service at the post-sale, post-event stage makes this company even more remarkable.
My "The Black Tux" experience was out of this world. Not only was the website easy to navigate, but when I called customer service, they were extremely friendly and helpful. I had ...
my jacket sleeve length tailored the week of my wedding and Black Tux offered to reimburse me. On the Wednesday before my Friday wedding, one of my groomsman realized that he ordered completely the wrong sizes...we called customer service and they sent a completely new suit overnight. Everything fit great and the entire grooms party looked amazing. The process for creating an event and making it happen is so simple and alleviates a lot of the stress of worrying about your whole party. I will use The Black Tux again if I need to wear a suit and don't feel like buying.
Midnight Blue tuxedo + Midnight Blue waistcoat (vest). Paired it with my own pique-front tuxedo shirt and self-tie silk bow tie.

I looked sharp, got plenty of compliments, and it was a seamless experience start to finish. Thanks again, Black Tux!
"This was the easiest , no hassle part of Prom! The tux looked and fit great with the help of your fit specialists! So easy and very cool.
Loved it "
It was delivered on time and fit great. Also, the suit was incredibly durable! I was tearing up the dance floor with zero mobility issues or accidental rips. Great quality, price, ...
and service!
Amazing service, great fit, on-time delivery. Everything worked perfectly!
It was a super smooth process! The tux fit perfectly (which is rare) and I was so happy!
The best way to rent a tux - the site and delivery experience was exceptional.
My friend used this service for his groomsmen tuxedos on 4/30/16. I've been in several weddings and have had to go through the agony of tux fittings at unnamed mall tuxedo rental ...
shops, where they always somehow manage to screw up your order, measure you improperly, or give you the wrong size. The Black Tux was not only super easy to use, and dare I say, "idiot proof," but the customer service was great and the return procedure was very convenient. The quality of the shirts, tuxes and shoes were also very good and fairly priced. I didn't feel like my shirt was going to light on fire, since it was a thick, high-quality cotton shirt versus the flammable, polyester shirts that other rental shops give you. Also, when the customer service rep noticed an anomaly in my pant and jacket measurements (I have a wide waste and narrow shoulders...), he called me to offer a sizing suggestion and to confirm my sizes were indeed correct. Overall, the tux looked great on my buddy's big day, and I was extremely satisfied with my experience. I plan on using The Black Tux for my own wedding later this year.
There is no aspect of this experience where my expectations weren't totally exceeded, thank you for making a once in a lifetime experience perfect.. Jim Chernesky

ail location 4 times to fit, try on, try on again, pick up, return, etc. This was just one easy transaction. I did request that a jacket and pants be sent to me before hand, since I was the groom in the wedding, but they fit perfectly. I was very confident with my suit for myself and the other 5 suits for the boys. They all fit great, and we honestly got so many compliments. I will definitely encourage my other bachelors to use this service for their weddings, and I will def rent tuxes from The Blktux the in the future. Can't recommend this business enough. Great experience!
The clothes fit perfectly and the tux's Marina Wool made it a comfortable feel and i felt very good in what I was wearing. I would say I was one of the best dressed at my prom and ...
I will definitely be using The Black Tux again in the near future. Prices are very affordable as well.
Fantastic experience, from the fit to quality of the clothes, it was the best. One guest even complimented on the cut and quality of the suit.
Top quality cloth and cut. Frictionless process from order to return. Well done.
I've used The Black Tux twice now. First was a groom and the process getting my groomsmen fitted and taken care of was smooth sailing. I didn't have to worry about a thing.

econd time was a groomsmen myself. My suit arrived a week early as expected. I immediately tried it on and the jacket was too big. I called customer support and after answering a few questions about why the jacket didn't fit a new one was on the way. Still, the new jacket didn't fit, it just needed to be let out by a tailor in the sleeves. No big deal. The best part is The Black Tux reimburses up to $15 on the tailoring so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall, the website and process is smooth and fairly painless if you follow the instructions to try on your stuff immediately and stay in communication with customer support.
1. Excellent customer service and support 2. Great product quality 3. Easy to do business 4. Reasonable pricing.
Amazing customer service, along with great quality tuxedos!
We really enjoyed using The Black Tux for our groomsmen. We chose The Rat Pack outfit for our groomsmen and The Newman for the groom (basically the difference of a bowtie for the ...
groom and long ties for the groomsmen). Everyone looked great, the tuxes fit great, and the customer service was excellent. We had to get one pair of pants hemmed prior to the wedding and exchange a pair of shoes, but everything was easy and seamless. A great choice for modern grooms - I felt that the quality of the tuxes was exceptional and looked/felt more current than some other popular rental places. I would definitely use them again for another event!
The suits are gorgeous. The ordering and returning are super easy and the modern styles will totally elevate weddings in the 21 century. Kudos!
The fit and sizing was perfect. Great service getting new coat and shirt out in less than 12 hours for one of groomsman. Overall great experience.

d new garments on Wednesday. Several of my groomsmen commented about how friendly the staff was. They were all amazed at how simple the whole experience was. The tuxes themselves were modern, clean, and not boxy at all.
The Black Tux was such an easy option for my groom and his groomsmen to use! We live in Atlanta, with groomsmen spread across the country, and a wedding in South Carolina! Needless...
to say, having the tuxes shipped directly to the groomsmen was PERFECT! Their customer service staff is incredibly helpful and very responsive. We had a few groomsmen with sizing issues and the team at The Black Tux was able to help reorder all of the pieces we needed and even ship them to an address in Charleston where we were staying for the week of the wedding. The tuxes were a great quality and looked as fantastic in pictures as they did in person. Overall awesome value, look, and service!
Amazing experience using Black Tux!!! The service was flawless - we received an email from our "concierge" for the event the week before the wedding to make sure we were taken care...
of throughout the experience and we certainly were. From answering stupid questions from me (the groom) to addressing any miss-sized articles with my less than tech-savvy pops, they were absolutely on point.
Some of my groomsmen were unsure at first, but they were all big fans by the end of the experience. No less than 5 of my 8 groomsmen (most of whom are married and have dealt with other rental options) came up to me unprompted and told me how much better the quality of the gear was and how surprisingly easy the whole experience was.
I can't recommend them enough.
Rented the groomsmen suits from black tux. Came in the right measurements and right on time for the wedding. Groomsmen felt comfortable in them and didn't look awkward in them. The...
