We went to Men's Wearhouse to look for tux rentals for the guys for our wedding, and it was an unexpectedly huge disappointment. We were barely greeted by a guy who looked like he cared about us as much as he cared about the dishes that had be...
en rotting in his sink for the past 3.5 weeks, only to find out that their tux rentals are extremely limited. They only offer a couple of different options, none of which were all that nice or what we were looking for. We left irritated and discouraged, and after looking at the very few options you poor men have for formal rentals, my sister suggested The Black Tux. We did our research and were pleased with the findings, and decided to go with it. Their customer service was always very responsive and helpful, and not only helped us setup a home try-on for my now-husband, but also for my brother/groomsmen who is 6'6" and 350 lbs. After we had seen the suits in person and determined they offered a size that fit my brother, we finalized our decision to use them for our special day. Their suits were of a much better quality than the ones we saw at Mens Wearhouse, and looked much nicer as well, and were also cheaper! It was a win-win! Most of the suits fit when they arrived, and the few that didn't got authorized for tailoring or had new pieces shipped ASAP. Everything arrived on time, and all the gentlemen ended up looking fantastic. The only hiccup we had was that two of our groomsmen were accidentally double-charged, but the moment we contacted customer service they confirmed it was a mistake and refunded the correct amount. Overall, we are exceptionally pleased with the entire experience we had with The Black Tux, and would recommend them highly for your wedding or other special event!

The Black Tux was not only super easy to use, and dare I say, "idiot proof," but the customer service was great and the return procedure was very convenient. The quality of the shirts, tuxes and shoes were also very good and fairly priced. I didn't feel like my shirt was going to light on fire, since it was a thick, high-quality cotton shirt versus the flammable, polyester shirts that other rental shops give you. Also, when the customer service rep noticed an anomaly in my pant and jacket measurements (I have a wide waste and narrow shoulders...), he called me to offer a sizing suggestion and to confirm my sizes were indeed correct. Overall, the tux looked great on my buddy's big day, and I was extremely satisfied with my experience. I plan on using The Black Tux for my own wedding later this year.

The process was soooo easy! I ordered a free measuring tape from them, checked all my measurements, and filled out the information on my account. That was it. No BS going to a retail location 4 times to fit, try on, try on again, pick up, ret...
urn, etc. This was just one easy transaction. I did request that a jacket and pants be sent to me before hand, since I was the groom in the wedding, but they fit perfectly. I was very confident with my suit for myself and the other 5 suits for the boys. They all fit great, and we honestly got so many compliments. The second time was a groomsmen myself. My suit arrived a week early ...
as expected. I immediately tried it on and the jacket was too big. I called customer support and after answering a few questions about why the jacket didn't fit a new one was on the way. Still, the new jacket didn't fit, it just needed to be let out by a tailor in the sleeves. No big deal. The best part is The Black Tux reimburses up to $15 on the tailoring so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall, the website and process is smooth and fairly painless if you follow the instructions to try on your stuff immediately and stay in communication with customer support.

Some of my groomsmen were unsure at first, but they were all big fans by the end of the experience. No less than 5 of my 8 groomsmen (most of whom are married and have dealt with other rental options) came up to me unprompted and told me how much better the quality of the gear was and how surprisingly easy the whole experience was.

ittle long, but they made it easy to take care of the problem. A quick visit to the FAQ portion of the site and I learned I could take the pants to be tailored at my local dry cleaner. Best of all, they reimbursed me for the cost out of pocket.
My best man's jacket was way too tight. The solution? The Black Tux customer service team overnighted him two additional jackets so he could pick the one that fit him the best. No hassle, no stress whatsoever.
When the wedding was over, I slapped the provided shipping label back on the box, dropped it at FedEx and boom, I was done. My credit card was refunded for the tailoring a couple of days later - again, just as they promised.
If you're looking for a good experience - and a tux that doesn't look like it came straight off the rack from Men's Warehouse - go with this company. They provide a much more modern look, and they might even be a little cheaper as well.

In fact, over ½ of my wedding party (including myself) did not receive our orders 7 days in advance. This simply added to the stress of an already stressful time in my life. I can't recommend this company more - again the tuxes were so high quality and the process was so easy - I wish they had tuxedos for women as I am quite jealous of the guys! The fit was great and when I needed to exchange my shirt for a smaller size it was as easy as sending an e-mail and it was done! I had decided to rent a pair of shoes after my order was submitted, and that also was no problem. It was an email and it was done. ng was very easy, we all just went to Mens Warehouse and were measured and submitted the measurements on the site. 4 out of 6 suits fit perfectly. One guy thought his pants were too big and another's shirt was too big. In both instances Black Tux mailed new sizes to the desired addresses in time for the wedding.

he sleeves on the jacket were slightly long. I kept the jacket and informed the company, which sent a replacement that arrived in plenty of time for the ceremony. I know one of the groomsmen had a similar length issue with the pants, and the company likewise was able to help him such that everything was in order by the wedding without any stress. All in all, I would strongly recommend the Black Tux. I have in fact done so to two friends who have used it and had similarly excellent experiences.

exible when I called with a request. The website doesn't allow you to order a vest without a suit. For me and my groomsmen, we wanted to go with just vests. When I called, they changed the order and subtracted the cost of the suit.
The suits arrive a week before the event, which definitely worried me. I know my father-in-law was sent the wrong size suit jacket, but the got a different one back to us just a day or two later.

st man orders his two weeks before the wedding and received one week later with no issues. They have different styles to choose from - and they are all about making it as easy a process as possible. Only downfall - if the groom is not renting a tux from them, it's a bit confusing to find how to let the groomsmen order without him because they do it by wedding party and events rather than singular purchases - but there is a way and it is doable!

hension was totally justified. They don't send the tuxedos until the week of the wedding and not only was my husband's tuxedo order COMPLETELY wrong (it looked like someone randomly selected sizes and just through them in a box - he had a shirt two sizes too small and pants that were way too large... how?), they also sent the groomsmen the wrong ties, didn't send everyone pocket squares who ordered them and were extremely difficult to get a hold of on the phone.
My sweet husband tried to handle much of the drama on his own but no one even offered to comp his tuxedo order until I got on the phone and had to be a bridezilla about it. AND even when all the details (cufflinks, tie clips, etc) had arrived, my husband's bow tie was a frayed mess on our wedding day.
Trust me ladies, this is not what you want to be doing two days before your wedding.
