About this vendor
Located in downtown Macon, The Blacksmith Shop is a restored 1890 blacksmith shop and carriage facility. Completely renovated in 2000, today the building is the backdrop for weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthday celebrations and corporate events. During renovations the space was updated with modern lighting, finishes, kitchen and bar area while retaining the buildings original heart pine beams, brick walls, arched openings for carriages and natural lighting. The landscaped courtyard, with it's fountain and gravel sitting areas is a beautiful location for a ceremony or cocktail hour inviting guests into a world that seems far removed from downtown Macon. This venue was amazing. It made even our smaller wedding so intimate and special. Do not hesitate to tour, visit and talk to the amazing owner of this venue. I promise it is a breathtaking place. Thank you so much Aubrey!
My favorite venue in Macon. We chose our wedding date based on the availablity of the venue. Aubrey was great and easy to work with, he’s a pro and made everything seem so easy. We had some day-of changes (fewer folks than RSVP count) and Aubrey just rolled with it. He was super easy to communicate with and gave us lots of suggestions on setting the venue up for our needs. We absolutely loved the venue, especially at night, and heard compliments all night!
The Blacksmith Shop was the perfect venue for my wedding, and Aubrey was always quick to respond and extremely helpful regarding all my questions and concerns.
The Blacksmith Shop is such a unique venue. We fell in love right away and Aubrey was amazing to work with. You don’t need many decorations as the place speaks for itself!
Aubrey is the best! He is so sweet and is there to help you with any questions you have. The place is absolutely beautiful and has everything I could hope for in the place where I’m getting married!
Great venue! My wedding was beautiful!
Wow is all I can say about this venue. From the first time I walked in to walking out on my wedding night everything was so perfect! Aubrey was an absolute joy to work with. He was very accommodating and worked with my vision for the reception. The venue by itself is GORGEOUS and classic. I would recommend this venue to everyone!! We had around 225 people for a buffet style meal and there was plenty of room. You will not be disappointed.
This place is gorgeous! It is also the most reasonably priced venue in town. I went to so many venues looking for a place that I didn't feel like I was going to use my entire budget to get. It helped that my wedding was on a Thursday, but even on Saturdays it wasn't any worse than the other places I visited. They also supply all of the chairs and tables you need and have them set up for you. Aubrey also worked very well with me to help me make a good organized space just how I wanted it. Awesome place for a wedding.
The Blacksmith Shop provided us with all of the information needed to plan a stress free wedding. They gave excellent vendor recommendations and were very helpful in setting up the reception.
The Blacksmith Shop was perfect for both our wedding and reception!! Our ceremony was out in the courtyard and our reception was held inside. This place is so beautiful and captured the essence of our wedding!!
As soon I visited this venue, I knew it was the perfect location for my reception. The manager was very nice throughout the year leading up to the reception and we had no problems the day of. Our flower and decor vendor was also allowed to come in the day before to load things in. We also received lots of the compliments on the location because it has great ambience and is an overall great space.
It was a beautiful venue. I could not have asked for a more perfect place to have my reception. The atmosphere was great and it was gorgeous all lit with candles. Everyone raved about it!
I loved the setting! The place is absolutely gorgeous! The thing I liked the most about the Blacksmith Shop was that I did not have to decorate as much outside as I would have at a church.(I had the ceremony in the garden) Although I loved the setting, there were a few kinks. First, while we were setting up, a group of people showed up to rehearse for their wedding the next day. I was very irritated by this because no one had mentioned anything to me about it and they were in the way of us decorating outside. It was a big hassle. Also, I was under the assumption that there would be trash bags. Well, we all know what happens when you assume. Yep, no trash bags at all. Therefore, be prepared to bring EVERYTHING with you! Nothing is provided other than the building.
I loved having my wedding at the Blacksmith Shop. The exposed brick walls and wooden beams give a very urban vibe. The venue really speaks for itself. I did no decorating besides flower centerpieces on the table. They are also easy to work with.
