The Blanford House was a complete 2016 renovation of the old Oakland Elementary school that was originally built in 1926. The schoolhouse now features lodging and dining areas while the auditorium now serves as your wedding and reception area. The house features six spacious guest rooms each with a private bathroom. 12' ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. Large kitchen with double convection ovens and double dishwashers. Triple basin copper farmhouse sink surrounded by granite countertops. Downstairs rec room with tvs, poker table, and billiards. Venue area: Original steel trusses and wood barrel roof. Heated for winter events. Rustic bar included. Private courtyard perfect for outdoor weddings

Three weeks before our wedding, we were tasked with finding a new venue. To say it was a scramble would be mild...but after visiting several places in the area, we unanimously agreed that The Blanford House was "the one". Matt and his team were so accommodating and willing to help. Their kindness and hospitality; much appreciated. On top of that, everything worked out great for members of the wedding party, as well as our vendors and guests. It is such an amazing place, and it is so special that they have revived the old school. For anyone who went to school there - you MUST go see!!! Regardless of the occasion, you will not be disappointed. It is beautiful inside and out, close to the interstate exit, and very unique. It was perfect for us, and will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

If you're looking for a lovely venue for a rustic, formal, or any style wedding, this is the place to do it. The guest rooms were perfect for us and our wedding party. The kitchen was amazing for our food service, the kids that attended the wedding really enjoyed the media and billards areas. This venue was amazing! Beautifully renovated, and Crystal and Matt were so helpful with set up, clean up, and during the wedding. They even used golf carts so our guests didn't have to walk from the parking lot to the ceremony!! They definitely went above and beyond for us, and we can't thank them enough. We plan to return for our one year anniversary to spend the weekend.
