My husband and I hosted a daytime after party at The Block the day after our wedding and we are still talking about how amazing they were! Chelsea, Events & Sales Manager, was so g...
reat to work with and committed to us and our guests having a great experience. We rented out the third floor room with adjacent terrace (which had great Mountain Views!). We had a bar set up and brought in pizza for everyone which created the perfect laid back atmosphere to keep the festivities going. Oh and bonus that it is dog friendly and our dog was able to hang out with everyone too :). Chelsea thank you SO much - we truly are so happy we hosted this event here. Highly highly recommend hosting any of your wedding events here, this place is a hidden gem.

After originally booking with a different local restaurant/rooftop that was rude, unprofessional, and completely forgot our tasting, we pivoted a few months before our wedding (!!)...
and are SO glad we canceled and found The Block for our September 20th wedding! I had posted in a CO planning group to get other venue suggestions, and The Block was recommended by a popular officiant and a few other brides. Working with everyone at The Block was a breath of fresh air- from regional sales to the GM. Responses were quick, thorough, and friendly, and their new event manager, Chelsea, is so helpful and easy to work with.
The rental prices are reasonable, and the space is really modern with a lot of neat spots for photos. We had our ceremony at the lake, but I do think the lawn or rooftop would be pretty for a ceremony if you wanted to have everything at one location.
We held our cocktail hour outside on the rooftop with a couple of cocktail tables and picnic tables. The bar area has a service window outside as well as inside, so this was perfect. They do have bar packages, but we just did an open bar and paid the tab at the end of the night, which was the right move for our group. Our bartender Rob kept the vodka tonics coming, and it was nice to be able to customize the menu in advance with Chelsea since my husband really loves IPAs, and there was a great local selection.
We had 44 people total (five guest tables and a sweetheart table) and planned to remove one guest table and the sweetheart table after dinner so we’d have more room for the dance floor. Our DJ set up in the corner near the big doors, and it was so nice to have them open all night to cool off while dancing- the indoor/outdoor space really was perfect, with beautiful mountain and tree views.
The kitchen area is small, so it’s probably best to find a caterer that’s local and doesn’t have to travel far. They can prepare the food at their site and plate it at The Block. This is what our caterer did, but since we were looking pretty last-minute, we booked one from Denver and I would not recommend that long of a travel time.
We didn’t stay at the hotel for the wedding, but some of our guests did and said their rooms were modern and clean. We are looking forward to staying there on anniversary trips in the future!
My two pieces of advice for couples planning their wedding:
1. Do whatever you want to do. It’s your wedding, and a lot of people will have opinions, but yours are the ones that matter.
2. Choose vendors that are responsive and easy to work with. Weddings are expensive and can be stressful—you should have vendors who appreciate your business and want to take care of you. The Block nailed it!

Chelsea at The Block made planning my friend’s baby shower so easy!
She was incredibly responsive and helpful. We were initially going to use the event space upstairs, but when we...
realized our guest list was smaller than anticipated, she allowed us to pivot and use the bar area downstairs.
She checked to make sure that she would be there when we were getting everything ready for the event. She even helped us set up our decorations.
She is a very easy-going friendly person and it felt like she truly cared about our event.
The Block itself is an awesome venue right on the blue river in the heart of Silverthorne. It has a casual, no fuss vibe. That makes you feel like you’re a part of the community. I can’t recommend it and Chelsea enough!
