The Boat Club

My husband I hosted our wedding event at The Boat Club Restaurant February 1st, 2020. As it was a destination wedding we hosted multiple meals including our wedding reception dinner. Tami the event planner was not only communicative and flexible in the months leading up the event, she provided custom options for us based on our desire to keep our event small and unique. During our event which spanned the entire weekend, Tami’s assistant Jessie and the rest of The Boat Club Restaurant Bar & Grill staff were attentive to all of our needs. The Boat Club Restaurant Bar & Grill was also flexible with the menu options and meal selections which was important as I suffer from food allergies. Usually I wouldn’t choose buffet service over plated service because I am rarely impressed with the freshness of the meals, but our meal tasted like it just came out of the oven. It was delicious, hot and served right on time. In addition to the food service, all of the event rooms were simply but impeccably decorated, clean and set based on each of our asks. Even after we asked to hold our ceremony in a room that would have been considered a little too small for our guest numbers, Tami made it work in a way that felt comfortable and inviting. We were so lucky to have chosen The Boat Club Restaurant Bar & Grill as our event venue – we felt so special all weekend because of the fantastic job done by Tami and her team.

Price was unbeatable, reception room was adequate. Construction was going on where our ceremony took place outside, but of course we still paid full price and were not compensated for the inconvenience and eye sore that it caused. Director was somewhat helpful at times. Overall it was a very disorganized wedding, but on the water, it's the cheapest place you'll likely find.

We had the wedding of our dreams thanks to the incredible team at The Boat Club. We flew in from out of town, and had never seen the venue before. It didn't matter. The events manager, Tami, took great care of us. The staff throughout our reception were helpful, professional, and kind (and fun) to all of our guests. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The set up and tear down were both easy, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. They even had a high quality sound system in the room so we could have a dance without having to bring in a whole sound system. It saved us a lot of money and effort. The Boat Club has a beautiful lawn which overlooks the scenic North Shore Train and Lake Superior which made our evening even better! We loved our reception venue and caterers.

We had a wonderful wedding reception at Midi! Heather was easy to work with, really helped make everything go smoothly, and was responsive to our questions!! I'd highly recommend Midi. They were the perfect size venue for our wedding. It was so hard to find a mid-sized venue, and they were just perfect!
