The Boathouse Shelter Island is an elegant wedding venue located on Shelter Island, NY. Nestled along the West Neck Harbor, this nautical-themed setting offers a blend of rustic charm and modern chic. The versatile event area acts as a blank canvas for couples to design their dream theme from the ground up. Its sunset views, attentive staff, and relaxing atmosphere will be sure to add an idyllic touch to your special day.
This tranquil location offers easy access to the harbor, with a spacious marina and extensive docks making for a visually-rich photo backdrop. With a total of 18 acres of land and 200 feet of private shore, you will have plenty of space to achieve your nuptial vision. At least two boat slips will be available to you, for you to properly enjoy the water during your wedding weekend. Inside the Boathouse is a large event space with an open-floor concept that can accommodate up to 200 guests. Exposed ceiling beams, dark wood floor, and vintage chandeliers will add a timeless touch to your special day. The accordion doors lead to a 1,600-square-foot deck, which can be used for beachside cocktail hours. Dressing suites are also available onsite, for you and your wedding party to prepare for the altar in style.
The Boathouse Shelter Island only books one event per day, ensuring that you will have the waterfront setting all to yourself. Tables, chairs, and custom bars will be provided, and can be set up into any arrangement you prefer. The team will handle tear-down and clean-up after your event, giving you plenty of time to spend with your loved ones. They will also connect you with their list of recommended vendors, whom they trust to give you attentive, high-quality services. From elopements on the sand to extravagant indoor receptions, the onsite staff will make it their goal to exceed your expectations.

From the moment I walked in, I knew the Boathouse was the perfect venue for us. I couldn’t be happier with our experience. James and Megan were extremely helpful throughout the process, and really showed up the weekend of our wedding. Not only is the venue stunning, but the people behind it are incredible. Highly recommend!
The Boathouse was beautiful! It surpassed my imagination for our wedding day. Our ceremony on the lawn was gorgeous, the island cocktail hour was magical and the reception was a blast! Bringing in all the vendors was challenging, but Megan's recommendations were very helpful. She and James were flexible with all of our COVID needs and worked with us to make the day one we will never forget.

First off, the location is one of the most picturesque spots I have seen. If you love nature and the water but want the option for an indoor/outdoor wedding, the Boathouse is the perfect option. Second, James and Megan were extremely helpful and ensured the day went smooth. Leading up to the day, Megan was so helpful and responsible. I had a number of logistical questions and Megan really went above and beyond and she always responded to my email in less than 24 hours! She is the down to earth, knowledgeable, and I really felt she went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. Finally, if you want to include your personal flair into your wedding, the Boathouse will make your dreams come true. All of our guests are still talking about how beautiful the space was. There are so many great options for pictures before dinner, including a beautiful sunset. Book your wedding at the Boathouse ASAP!

Megan was so helpful and professional. The staff did an awesome job with my husband’s 50th bDay Party. The setting is gorgeous and Megan and James were very flexible and helpful with set-up ideas. Highly recommend the Boathouse!!
From the outset of our first contact with James and Megan they have been both consummate professionals and totally responsive. The quality of their venue is superb and all of our guests commented on that. They said the facility was impeccably groomed and maintained and was an impressive venue. Of course, that's great to hear but from a client point of view what was more important was their attention to every little detail and fast, positive response to every one of our requests. Guests also gave very positive feedback on the use of the island for cocktails and the boathouse for the dinner and dancing. The final result of all James' and Megan's efforts is that we had the most spectacular wedding reception you could ever imagine. It was magical thanks to them.
Beautiful venue on the water! Perfect for both the ceremony and reception! Owner is very easy to work with and helpful on wedding day! Hidden Jem! Definitely recommend!
