so awesome to work with. They kept regular contact, they let us try out their menu beforehand so we could pick what we thought was best for our guests. Their food is DELICIOUS. The Bacon Jam Sliders? My God. To die for! We had a wedding in my parents' backyard and they were super cool about pulling in and serving already prepared plates (on really cute disposable bamboo plates). We had way less people than we initially planned due to covid, and they packed up the leftovers for us to have for later. Above and beyond! They were awesome, you will not regret having this unique and delicious experience at your wedding :)

They were also super accommodating when building the menu, as we requested an entirely gluten and dairy free menu since I have severe allergies to both. Also, the catering staff at our wedding were very professional and kind. They were very flexible and accommodating when we had to postpone our wedding because of covid and even got creative with new ways to serve food at cocktail hour when new rules and precautions were put into place. Bar & Catering was one of the most important details of our wedding. We knew we wanted our meal to not be the basic chicken, potatoes, and veggie wedding dinner. Box Street listened to our ideas and helped us create a unique and tasty menu for our guests. We had 4 passed appetizers & family style dinner. (Honey poppy seed salad with cranberries, pistachio crusted chicken with chipotle creme, bacon wrapped tenderloin with cherry mostarda, three cheese mac & cheese, & brussels sprouts with burnt lemon vinaigrette). Our food was delicious and the service was impeccable. They made cocktail hour & dinner run so smoothly! Box Street accommodated our vegetarian & gluten free guests with ease. We had so many guests complement us on the dinner!
The father of the bride had been collecting wine for the wedding for years and we had some really special wine & port being served. They were great at allowing us to bring our own alcohol so we could serve our special wine & port. We also had an fun cocktail tasting & couldn’t choice just one or two cocktails for our wedding. So we had 5 amazing & yummy cocktails for our guests. (Pimms Cup, Gold Rush, Tom Collins, Paloma, & Old Fashioned). They were such a hit and each glass was served with flair. To make the bar line stay down during cocktail hour, they butler passed the drinks! It was a fun touch that we know our guests appreciated.
Truly when it came to our bar, Box Street said “yes!” to every single one of our crazy ideas. Speakeasy tequila/bourbon bar in the basement? Yes! Five batch signature drinks? Yes! Large format ice? Yes! Three different bar locations? Yes! Have Angelo serve a magnum size wine bottle during dinner service? YES! (LOL!)
We cannot say thank you enough to Edward, Caroline, Angelo, the cooking team, the bar team, and the serving team for making our wedding so special and run with ease ! If you are looking for a caterer or bartender for your next event, look no more! Book this amazing team for an spectacular event. ype of food we wanted for our wedding. We didn't want the traditional chicken or beef for our wedding, but something fun and tasty. Edward is not only highly professional and reasonably priced, but also his enthusiasm and dedication to his work is something that really stood out to us when we met him. What made his business stand out (besides the amazing food!) was the personable conversation we had and how we knew that he was passionate for what he did. During the months leading up to the wedding he kept in contact with us and came out with us to tour the venue multiple times, again showing his dedication to his company. On the day of our Sunday wedding Edward was able to pull up his food truck so guests could see it and showed up early with his equally professional team to set up. When I saw how they set everything up I was blown away at the amazing job they did at capturing my vision. Everyone looked absolutely stunning. The food was just as amazing as the first day we tried it. Our guests loved it! Edward did a wonderful job working with our vendors and the venue to make sure everything ran smoothly. dding reception. Don't let the food truck idea scare you, even for large weddings. Edward and his staff were able to serve a 4-course meal to over 230 guests in around 30 - 45 minutes. Everyone loved the spring green salad; avocados stuffed with quinoa, black beans, and roasted corn; cheeseburger sliders with bacon jam; and of course the crispy chicken and homemade sour cream donuts drizzled with maple syrup. Yum!! We served the food family-style, allowing guests to take what they wanted from the platters, then pass them around. We also had a cocktail hour where Edward set up a beautiful appetizer table. Despite having to move everything indoors due to inclement weather, Edward made the quick changes seamless, and I had many guests tell us what a terrific spread it was. Edward had plenty of assistants helping with setup, serving, and cleanup, and he stayed until everything was completely done. I had so many people tell me how much they loved the experience!

e food truck, but we changed our minds about that. Actually, we changed our minds about pretty much everything when it came to the food and the caterer, but Edward just rolled with it. We had a very strict budget, and of all the caterers we contacted, he was the only one to actually stick to the budget given.
Edward scrambled a serving team together when my brother decided at the last minute that he wanted a seated dinner service rather than having it served buffet-style. He was gracious when I surprised him with a request to have his servers cut and plate the cake. Every single curve ball we threw at his team was taken in stride and handled beautifully.
Now, for the main reason we chose The Box Street Social. The. Food. Was. AMAZING. We already knew the food was delicious; my brother and I tried their stuffed avocados when we were checking out the food trucks at The Block (food truck block near UTSA) and we were sold from that experience alone. My sister-in-law was worried about having a food truck at their formal wedding, but luckily, The Box is not just a food truck. While they did cook all the food from the truck, it was plated and served like any other (gorgeous) catered dinner. The menu included: smoked chicken breast with a chimichurri sauce and bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with a cherry mustard glaze; sides included mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, and a dinner roll. We didn't want our guests to have to choose, so each guest was served both entrees. The chicken was moist and the pork tenderloin was juicy and perfectly cooked. Rather than simply serving them whole, the veggies were finely julienned, which looked beautiful on the plate. Everything was seasoned to perfection. As one of the maids-of-honor and the wedding planner/coordinator, I only wish that I had had more than 10 minutes to enjoy and savor the food!
To recap: management was phenomenal, the service was top notch; the food was to die for. If you want great service and food that your guests will actually enjoy (and rave about!) within a reasonable budget, seriously consider catering from The Box Street Social.

chicken and dry mashed potatoes from every basic caterer in town. Food was high up on our priority list when it came to what really mattered to us, so it was important that we found something unique and something savory that our guests would enjoy!
Well, while eating at our favorite food truck one day the idea crossed our minds and we fell in love with the idea of having a "Food Truck" wedding! Eddie (the owner) met with us and helped us come up with a unique menu to fit our style and suggested that we do a "family style" service which we didn't even know was an option! Needless to say the service was impeccable and timely. Throughout the entire wedding our friends and family were raving about how delicious the food was, from the crab stuffed avocados for apps to the fancy mac... Eddie and his team used fresh ingredients and were able to deliver a mouthwatering meal to our guests, we even had a WHOLE COOKED PIG! It was awesome! I wish I could go back in time just to eat dinner again, but luckily I can go visit them wherever the food truck ends up next!
