We had a really good wedding in which everything went very well. Ada (the manager) was easy to be able to contact and communicate with overall as well as helping with the wedding ...
the day of. The price was reasonable. Brink staff were kind and efficient during our wedding day. Pictures really turned out well of the space. A consideration that may want to be made is if you would want to get chair covers for the ceremony/ dining chairs or covers for other furniture if you plan to have pictures in side rooms/ dressing areas. Some details that are not evident in pictures are a bit more evident in person. At the end of the day, we had a great day.
Me and my wife were planning to hold our wedding reception at the brink for last August (of 2020). We met with their event coordinator in January of 2020, and put down our $750 de...
posit. Due to the pandemic, we ended up having to reschedule our reception for June of 2021, which they were able to accommodate. Last spring, the Brink reached out and stated that if we put down $2000 for our event, they would give us a $300 credit towards our future event. This was, presumably, to cover losses as a result of the pandemic, which was understandable. We took them up on this, as our original budget for this was around $3000, so we would be saving about $300 in the end, so we put down the $2000, we were also told any money we put down is refundable outside of the original $750 deposit. As in-person restrictions have continued, and with uncertainty of a majority of our guests being vaccinated by June, we decided to cancel our reception back in January of 2021. We reached out to the Brink, where we found out the event coordinator had left her position, and that we should contact the owner, Matt Brink. We have made a total of seven attempts to contact the Brink, and the owner, Matt Brink, via email and voicemail, since January with no response at all from anyone. I also attempted to go in person, and found that the doors to their office space are locked. I would not recommend doing business with them at this time, as it is clear that they are actively avoiding my attempts to contact them to refund the money we are clearly owed. I understand that times are especially tough for businesses such as this, but avoiding any discussion with us is not only disappointing, but unprofessional, and not a way any business should operate
The Brink Lounge was everything I was expecting for our wedding celebration party. Everything went smoothly. The food was wonderful, and I heard nothing but amazing comments from m...
y guests about the Brink Lounge. Thank you for making our day so memorable. :):):):)
We got married at the end of October and had our reception in the Banquet Room at the Brink Lounge. The space was absolutely gorgeous, we had no problems setting things up the way ...
we wanted, and the Brink staff was super helpful! During the planning, Ada was very responsive to our emails and was very open to our ideas! We also got a lot of compliments about the bartenders and drinks! One particularly nice aspect of the space was the multiple floors. If guests didn’t want to stay downstairs with the music, they could spread out to the upper floors where we set up couches and games for entertainment. We would definitely recommend this space for wedding receptions!
Very helpful during the planning, during, and after the reception. They made everything go smoothly and made the process very stress free. The space is very nice and intimate. A...
shlie helped during all of this and was very accommodating.
The Brink Lounge was perfect for our wedding! Ashlie was on top of our needs and had everything set for us. We were even able to store our gifts overnight and did not have anything...
to worry about.
My husband, Tom and I were married on 10/01/16 at The Brink Lounge. We had a quick, 3 month engagement - and the Brink was more then accommodating. Ashley was easy to reach and v...
ery flexible with our needs. She let us tour the facility as many times as needed and worked so well with our caterer. The venue was perfect - the top two floors worked lovely for our cocktail hour and the dinner on the main, lower level. The character of multiple levels and white lights on all the banisters was wonderful. It was a small enough venue that our reception had an intimate feeling, yet large enough that everyone had room to mingle. The back room worked perfectly for our photobooth as well. I would highly recommend considering this venue for a reception - we received so many compliments from our guests. Ashley and The Brink lounge played a huge part in making our day amazing!
We had both our rehearsal dinner and reception at Brink and both experiences were extraordinary. We worked with Matt Brink - the event coordinator and owner of the Brink to schedul...
e our events and talk "big picture" things like timing, # of people, and rooms. After that we worked mostly with Ashlie - the event manager and she was PHENOMENAL. She was always there to answer questions and help us out however we needed her. There were so many little things she did that made both the evenings go perfectly. During the reception, she made sure the bridal party's dinners were plated and served to us (didn't expect that), she let us know how the alcohol was doing throughout the night and offered us options if we wanted to replenish anything, and she was overall attentive to both the bridal party and guests! I can't talk her up enough! I would book anything through the Brink again just for her! Overall, the service was spectacular and we felt very taken care of all evening. On top of the service, the space is amazing. It has a very "downtown Madison" feel, which was perfect as my (now) husband are both UW-alum. It also has lots of space for guests. With two extra floors, the public lounge, a patio and a room off of the main room, there is a ton of space for guests to find a space to suit their needs. I would highly recommend the Brink to anyone looking for a downtown feel for a extremely reasonable price for being only a block from the Capitol.
Matt Brink is the star here--his customer service skills are top notch!
I couldn't be happier with my interactions with him as we were planning our wedding dinner and dance in ...
their lounge. In addition to being very responsive, I found Matt to be pragmatic, respectful, and accommodating on so many levels.
Matt offered to let me drop off supplies the day before our event and worked with us to arrange a dinner table layout that wouldn't put us on stage (so off-beat friendly!)
If I'd had some more time for choosing a venue, I may not have selected The Brink due to the overall cost--I lean more in the direction of DIY and saving money. However, Matt's service was money well spent. Should I ever need to plan another party in Madison, I will be checking with The Brink first.
That said, the Brink isn't for everyone, to be sure. The crux of their reception sale is on alcohol and/or food, so if you have dreams of DIY-ing and saving money with your beer/wine list via Costco or your uncle's beer connection, The Brink won't be the place for you. Nonetheless, The Brink is able to get just about any micro brew or wine you may desire--it's just going to be part of the cost built into using their lounge. The bartenders who served us were also attentive and responsive.
And a beautiful lounge it is--the mood lighting is perfect, and the sweeping staircase is a lovely entryway for you and your guests. So many of my guests came up to me and complimented me on our choice of dinner/party space. The multi-levels may be a bit intimidating for guests with mobility issues, but there is a ramp built into the dining hall, and an elevator is available at the other end of The Brink Lounge.
We were able to set up a slide-show on the back room's television set, and we had use of the private room off the stage for stashing our personal belongings during the event. As the night drew on, several guests also ordered food from the bar and reported deliciousness.
I couldn't recommend The Brink more highly, and they will always hold a special place for me as our lovely reception spot.
The space is perfect for a wedding. There are different areas for guests to go: upstairs, outside, the beautiful bar, etc.
This venue is very pretty and works well for a wedding of about 100 people. It seems reasonably priced, but they charge you an enormous amount for alcohol and other hidden fees. Ma...
tt (the owner) is hard to get a hold of and is not flexible on prices at all. He overcharged us for wine we ordered, fixed it, but the mistake was made to begin with.
What a beautiful spot for a reception. The manager and staff are exceptional to work with. Their prices are great and the amount of space reserved for our party was outstanding. ...
As the MOB I would recommend this venue to anyone in the Madison area. Also beautiful spots for photo ops, entrance and photobooth placement.
