Kyle and I had a dream come true wedding at the Brooks at Weatherford April 20, 2018. Everything about this venue is beautiful, masterful, and truly a piece of art. We looked at about 8-10 venues all over dfw, and the Brooks was such a great ch...oice. The Brooks is popular, so being on a 6 month timeline, I wasn't surprised that the venue was booked all Saturdays from like March-July! At first I sighed and continued to look for other venues, but my mind always went back to the beautiful white chapel. I'm SO glad that we considered a Friday wedding because it allowed us to expand our options. (also Friday weddings rock because we got to hang out with everybody on Saturday too! There's a great 18 person air bnb nearby that we made our home base for getting ready and had a pool party there the day after). Tricia and Steve are completely marvelous, not only in the planning but on the day as well. They calmed us before walking down the long path to the chapel, they helped drive a golf cart for our grandmothers to get to pictures on the knoll, and helped our day of planner with her needs. Wow I could just go on and on...Tricia even came down during my bridals and it just meant the world to me to have her encouragement and sweet words, especially since my mother wasn't there!
The chapel is serene and makes for a great backdrop for a Christian religous ceremony. I'm sure it's great for less religious ceremonies too, but if you're looking for that spirit filled church like feel without actually being in a church, The Brooks delivers.
The grounds have this long pathway to walk to the entrance which is super fun and you feel like a princess walking down with everyone looking for you.
We did an outdoor cocktail hour, weather was a breezy sunny and 70 and clear skies (not even making this up!). We had an accoustic guitarist for cocktail hour who plays at the brooks frequently-Andrew Sullivan. Highly recommend! We then had our super fun reception in the lodge on the property. A fireplace and candlelight made the space feel so intimate. We did do a large floral piece on the mantle and cafe lights, but truth be told the venue truly doesn't NEED anything more. it's breathtaking without a ton of decorations.
This venue, this family, is truly one of a kind. The time and attention to detail on the grounds is so noticeable. From the plants to the details on the doors to the incredible bride and groom suites, even the BATHROOMS are immaculately designed. So many rustic venues in the area have folded tin hammered haphazardly to the walls or christmas lights dangling, poor lighting, or weird old western accents. The brooks doesn't. Yes, it's more rustic than a ballroom or mansion. But I felt that the vibe was almost more fairy tale/lodge than farm house/barn.
I am so thankful for Tricia, Steve, and the Brooks. It was the best day of our lives. Pay them a visit, be open to a Friday or Sunday wedding (because Saturdays are probably gone because this place rocks), and if you choose them, I promise you'll be a happy bride!
