Follow it by hosting your reception around the large propane community fire pit with an accompanying manicured grassy meadow and area perfect for a beautiful tent, tables, food trucks, and live music. The space is suitable for approximately 100 people. Looking for on-site accommodations? The Cabins at Blacktail host six two-bedroom, one-bath tiny cabins for up to 4 people. Outfitted in fun vintage Montana decor and adorned with hand-painted murals, the cabins are a unique and fun way to experience your wedding weekend with up to 24 of your closest friends and family. Each cabin includes a full kitchen, queen beds, private decks, and patios with picnic tables and personal hot tubs, and propane fire pits. Included in your property buy-out is a private sauna and natural spring-fed cold plunge experience. Julie & George Darrow are the owners, operators and designers of The Cabins at Blacktail – a magical mountain property in Lakeside, Montana focused on creating incredible, relaxing and rejuvenating experiences for their guests and community. Their beautiful forested property was created from the ground up to include a large community fire pit, meadow and a whimsical “Island” space surrounded by a babbling natural spring and creek with twinkle lights suspended overhead. Their greatest goal is for their guests to create incredible experiences and connections while enjoying cozy cabins with well stocked kitchens, fun vintage décor, hand painted murals, plush beds and being immersed in gorgeous scenery. They truly want their guests to create memories to last a lifetime!

We utilized the entire property for our weekend wedding and hosted an intimate wedding at the Island, transitioned up to the fire pit for cocktails and then had the Island transformed into a dancing and dessert haven. It was the perfect Montana experience surrounded by our closest family and friends while feeling secluded but so close to town and the gorgeous views of Flathead Lake!

timate, romantic experience we were looking for, while still being able to accommodate our medium size (130 guests) wedding. Working with Julie, the owner, was one of the best parts of the experience. She was extremely intentional with us from start to finish and she made the venue logistics seamless when it came to the planning process, coordination of events, and the entire wedding weekend.

We rented out The Cabins at Blacktail for our wedding party to stay in and to host a welcome event. Our expectations were beyond surpassed! The amenities were amazing, between the ...

sauna, cold plunge creek, and the community fire pit. The island is stunning, almost all of us chose to enjoy our morning coffee down there listening to the water and enjoying beautiful Forest scenery. Julie and George were extraordinary!! Julie is the kindest, we bonded over both being from Florida. She also went completely out of her way to bring a metal detector for us when I had lost a ring. George bent over backwards to fix the fire pit so that we could host the welcome party. He spent all day Friday out there while it was raining and in a freak wind storm until it was fixed. We were so incredibly grateful that they go above and beyond to ensure the guests have the best experience. Their communication was top tier! While we didn’t use the cabins as our venue, it was definitely our runner up!! The site is gorgeous and would make for the most beautiful, whimsical wedding venue. If you’re in need of a wedding venue, retreat, or Airbnb look no further than The Cabins at Blacktail!!

nd the sound of the creek and spring make you feel like you're in the middle of the wilderness, but Lakeside is just down the road! Julie is so kind and welcoming, and the cabins were perfect to host our small wedding! Every cabin is so inviting and has everything you could ever need-she left us the sweetest notes and fresh flowers in every cabin. There are so many different ways to utilize the spaces on this property, from the fire pit to the "island" (created by a natural spring and a creek!)! My wedding party had a blast in the sauna and cold plunge pool, and then in the hot tubs after the wedding. My husband and I will be coming back to stay again for sure-we could not have asked for a more amazing venue owner, venue, and wedding. I cannot recommend the Cabins at Blacktail enough-it is truly magical : )
