Fiona's cakes are amazing!!! The highlight of wedding planning was spending some time with Fiona and sampling her different combinations. We loved them all, and ultimately went with vanilla cake, lemon curd filling, and American buttercream frosting. It was life-changing!!! The cake was such a highlight of the night, and we all finished the leftovers the next day. Everyone was talking about the cake, and it looked just as spectacular as it tasted. Instead of ordering extra cake so we could save and freeze the top layer, we decided to just return to Fiona on our first anniversary to buy a fresh cake from her. We are already dreaming about this day!! Thank you, Fiona!! Five stars - highly recommended for anyone looking for the best cakes around!!

So I'm the kind of bride that heavily researches every possible option before selecting a wedding vendor. There are so many cake/ bakeries that range a lot in terms of quality and cost and I had to look a them all. Well let me tell you- save yourself time and energy and just pick Fiona's Cakes! I will tell you four reasons why you should. First of all, she's definitely one of the most economical places in the area. Second, let me just preface this review by saying I'm not a huge cake person. I'll eat a little for birthdays but it's not really my thing. Well I was totally converted during our cake tasting with Fiona! Honestly I had no idea cake could be this good. The moment I took a bite of her vanilla cake with raspberry preserves, I was completely sold! There are no words for how good it is. And the chocolate with chocolate filling was so divine! Not to mention the buttercream icing... just amazing! I'm a total foodie and I adore all things dessert, and yet I've never had icing like this. Third, she is super professional, kind, accommodating, and she will really listen to you as you show and describe your wedding cake vision. This is important, as some vendors will try and change your mind and/or impose their vision on you. Fourth, and most importantly, is her superb delivery. There are no words to describe how gorgeous and stunning our wedding cake was! Literally perfection. Our guests couldn't stop raving about our cake- I hated to cut it! 4 perfect tiers, with each alternating tier covered in perfect little dots. Surrounded by flickering candles and rose petals, and decorated with lavender rose buds- it was absolutely breathtaking! And of course the taste... like heaven! So stop your obsessive bridal research now and go see Fiona. Taste the cake and get converted! I promise you won't be disappointed : )

Fiona's created our gorgeous five-tier wedding cake. We had two different flavors, almond cake with amaretto and lemon cake with raspberry filing. The cake design was stunning -- I suggested to Fiona some basic ideas, but for the most part I let her do what she does best: creating an exceptional tasting cake that is beautiful to look at it as well. Fiona is a very sweet woman who has a very unique baking resume. We chose her because we love supporting smaller companies -- working with Fiona was much more personal than the bigger cake shops. Overall it was a great experience working with Fiona, and I would suggest her to any bride. Her cake flavors are unique, and there are many diverse options. Definitely check her out!

Fiona created exactly what we wanted for our wedding! Everyone loved the cupcakes and croquembouche and we were so impressed with Fiona! We would definitely use her again!

We used Fiona's for our wedding cake and we were so pleased. We wanted a very simple cake and Fiona was more than happy to create it for us without pressuring us into any elaborate designs or patterns. We chose an almond cake with the almond brittle buttercream filling and the vanilla buttercream. We have had guests raving about the cake. It was so moist and the flavors were absolutely fantastic. It was so nice to have a cake that was not only polished and beautiful but also delicious! We're definitely recommending Fiona's to all our friends getting married in the area.

We first tried Fiona's cakes at a bridal show. They were absolutely fantastic, so we followed up with a tasting. We tasted about 8 different types of cake, and were were able to select two flavors for the wedding cake, with no extra cost. Our entire tasting party (bride, groom, bride's parents) were in complete agreement on the two we chose.The almond cake is unbelievable, and very different. And you can't beat chocolate! We didn't even visit any other vendors to taste cakes. The day of the wedding, the cake looked beautiful, and tasted fantastic. Very moist and the buttercream frosting was excellent. We received many compliments on it! Fiona is very easy to work with - I would absolutely recommend her. Also, her price was in line with or slightly below most of the other cake places we initially researched.

Reviews online directed us to Fiona's Cakes. The reviews weren't wrong. She was able to accommodate our short turnaround of 2 weeks. We ordered four, different sized cakes instead of a tiered wedding cake. What was our decision, I liked the look better. After a tasting, we fell in love with the Almond cake with Almond Brittle and Amaretto. That cake is a winner. Everyone was talking about how good the cakes were. We will use her again for other occasions.

Fiona's was great. The cake was DELICIOUS, and there were many flavor options. You have the option for American buttercream, or European (less sugar so less sweet). We choose European, and it was great! We are so happy to have extra in the freezer and will use her again for special occasion cakes. She took a lot of time with us to help decide the decoration of the outside, and our guests thought that not only was it beautiful but very yummy.

Fiona was wonderful to work with. Her cakes taste amazing and look beautiful. We received multiple compliments on how delicious the various flavors were and how pretty the wedding cake was.

My cake was beautiful! Fiona sat with us for over a half hour helping us design it.. Then redesigning when I found something I liked better. We had multiple tiers in different flavors and all my guests raved about the taste!!!

Fiona's was the second bakery that we visited (after we almost had a contract signed with a different baker) and after the first bite of cake I knew this was the baker we would choose! I'm not a big cake person, but this cake was delicious! While it was a little pricier than other bakers, it is definitely worth it! We provided cake bags at our wedding (as one of the favors) and there was no cake leftover at the end, which made us kind of sad because we wanted more! We received many compliments from guests about the cake. My husband and I might not be waiting until our 1yr anniversary to eat the top layer because we already want more! You won't regret choosing this baker - great to work with!

About everyone told us that this was the best tasting wedding cake ever! I even had friends who never eat wedding cake, try ours. Between the wedding and brunch, we had no leftovers. We chose to have 3 different flavors (red velvet, lemon cake with raspberry filling, and vanilla cake with chocolate and strawberry filling) for our 4 tier cake. I came in with a vision of a light yellow cake with a design on the side; her final design was more than I ever anticipated. Fiona was a pleasure to work with! And at the end of the day the price was great for the product.

Fiona obviously has a lot of experience working with couples, and when we had our consultation with her, we knew we were in good hands. Many of our guests made sure to pull us aside and say this was one of the best cakes they have ever had -- and I'd have to agree! Fiona does an amazing job of keeping her butter-cream very smooth, giving it the appearance of a smooth fondant, with the taste of one of the most amazing butter-cream icings I have ever had. We had a hard time trying to decide between flavors of our cake, so we ended up spending just a little more (I think $25) to have various flavors! We split our layers between chocolate with chocolate filling, and vanilla with FRESH raspberry filling and then made our top layer red velvet! My only complaint was that we were too busy dancing and having fun to even take a bite of the cake, but I am happy in knowing that other people enjoyed it as much as we did during the tasting. :)

We had a 3 layered buttercream wedding cake. It was so difficult to choose between all of Fiona's delicious cake flavors. The only problem I had was I never got to have a piece of our chocolate layer!

Many of our guests made a point of telling us that it was THE best wedding cake they had ever tasted! This is a superlative compliment especially since we are not the typical 20-30 something couple but rather this was the second time around for us as we were both widowed several years ago. So, most of our guests were more mature people who have actually attended many, many weddings in their lifetimes and have tasted many, many wedding cakes. We chose the lemon cake with the lemon curd filling and Italian buttercream icing!! I'm not a fan of really sweet cakes and this was PERFECT!! Just sweet enough with a refreshing lemon "tang" which made it a very memorable wedding cake. We have the top in the freezer for our first wedding anniversary and I can't wait to enjoy it! Fiona is a consummate professional. She's pleasant and very easy to work with. We met once. Chose what we wanted and it turned out to be exactly as we specified! There can't be a better wedding cake vendor than Fiona!!! Thanks Fiona!!!!!

Fiona was wonderful to work with! When I met with her I knew exactly what I wanted, and she was able to recreate my vision perfectly! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it was delicious as well! I will definitely be going to Fiona's Cakes again!

Fiona's cakes are not your average wedding cake. Truthfully i never eat cake at weddings because i usually don't like it. So when i was planning my wedding a few months ago, I said i would only buy a cake that i actually thought tasted good. If you feel the same, save yourself the time and just go to Fiona's. Not only will your cake be delicious, it will be beautiful and the process is hassle free. I did look around for cakes, assuming that prices and taste would vary quite a bit. Well, here's the thing, cakes all pretty much cost the same, but they definitely don't taste the same. I walked into Fiona's and immediately saw the cake i wanted as a model in her "showroom". She brought various flavors to taste and i loved them all. I was completely shocked. Ordering the cake was probably the easiest thing i did for the wedding. Fiona is easy to work with and makes the process simple. If you have a topper or flowers, she will add those items when the cake is delivered to your venue. My cake was beautiful, just what i wanted and i can't wait to eat the top layer (don't really want to wait for my anniversary!).

We found out about Fiona from my mother in law who wanted to use her for our engagement party. She asked that we do a tasting and pick the flavor of the engagement cake while we were trying her out for our wedding cake. We love the cake so much that we had her for our engagement party, a mothers day cake during our rehearsal dinner, and for our wedding! We got many compliments on the flavor of the cake during the engagement party that we choose the same flavor for our wedding!! I cant wait to taste our cake top on our one year anniversary! In fact! I am not particularly adventurous when it comes to cake (chocolate is pretty much the only option), but when my husband and I did our tasting, I was amazed that I liked all of the flavors! Fiona has a wonderful selection, decorating ideas, a lot of experience, and absolutely delicious cakes! Guests also couldn't stop raving about how good the cake was! We can't wait to eat the top of the cake in a year!!

Fiona baked the cake for our wedding. After a previous tasting at a competitor's, my wife and I agree that Fiona's was the absolute best that we'd had. The consultation with Fiona went swimmingly, and she was a big help in figuring out what we wanted to do. It's also worth noting that her price was not just competitive, but the best we found. All told, we had a fantastic experience with Fiona, and we'd recommend her to anyone else doing a wedding in the Annapolis area.

I was happy with my cake from Fiona's. She listened very well, took my picture and made the cake just like I wanted. I really appreciate her friendliness and ease to work with. There was no stress, I was completely confident in her ability to deliver and I was right. She even held the cake topper for me so I didn't have to worry about it. I never got the impression she was just trying to make money either, as she was honest about what I actually needed to feed and satisfy my party rather than have a giant cake that wouldn't get eaten. I certainly recommend Fiona.

We had our wedding on 8/19/2012 and were lucky enough to have Fiona's wedding cake! We met with other bakeries in the area, but none of them tasted as great as Fiona's. Fiona herself is also very professional and worked with us to personalize our cake just how we wanted it. We ordered a four tiered cake that was light yellow with daisies all over it! Fiona asked for a color swatch and did an impeccable job matching the color just as we wanted it. But most importantly, it tasted AMAZING! We still have guests that tell us how they dream about that cake at our wedding and how they are going to go to Fiona’s just go get that cake for no special occasion. We got the vanilla cake with the following flavors: two tiers were filled with lemon curd and raspberry preserves, and the other two tiers were chocolate gnash and cream cheese. Both were perfectly moist and tasted amazing! We highly recommend Fiona’s cakes to be your wedding cake bakery, undoubtedly the best in the area!

Fiona made an amazing cake for our wedding! We had a three tier square cake with a beach theme, and her design was spot on with what we had envisioned! And most importantly, not only did the cake look great, but it tasted great, too! We had an almond cake, with almond brittle buttercream filling, a brushing of amaretto, and a traditional buttercream icing. ah. maze. ing. simply delicious!! Our guests loved it! And I don't know if I will be able to wait until our one year anniversary before I eat the top tier! Fiona was truly great to work with. She was very responsive and professional. I think the cake tasting was my husband's favorite part of the entire wedding planning process! All of the flavors of her cakes are great, and Fiona was very helpful with working with us on the design of our cake. I would definitely recommend Fiona to make the cake for your wedding or any special occasion!

Fiona's Cakes are just fabulous! I cannot tell you how many guests commented on how delicious the wedding cake was. We chose a three-tiered classic vanilla cake with italian meringue buttercream frosting and two different fillings, creamy lemon curd and raspberry preserves. Both flavors were just incredible. Order a few extra pieces, because I guarantee you that Fiona's cakes will have guests going up for seconds! Fiona herself was exceptional too. She was extremely helpful from beginning to end and will work with you to ensure that you get the wedding cake of your dreams!

Having been to other baker's earlier, I was incredibly excited to meet with Fiona. Her cake was FANTASTIC. She had traditional flavors but some creative and absolutely delicious flavors as well. I highly recommend the Almond cake with almond brittle filling. Her prices were better, her cakes MORE delicious and her albums of designs she does were truly breathtaking and done perfectly. The only thing I came across that was frustrating was that I had shown her a picture during the tasting and she said she could absolutely do it. The picture was fondant but she said there would be no problem doing it in buttercream. As the day approached and we had absolutely decided on that cake, she didn't recall me having shown her the picture and said that she couldn't do it and that as it was the summer, it wouldn't hold up. It was about the only thing I had decided on easily so that was a bit hard. When we finally picked another cake though, she absolutely came through. It was gorgeous and no extra charges for things like putting flowers on a cake like some places do. It tasted delicious and looked gorgeous. We ended up renting a cake stand from her as well. In looking at the pictures we found that it was pretty clearly tarnished/not cleaned up so I would suggest probably finding your own. Overall, we were really REALLY happy with our cake and Fiona and look forward to ordering a small one to celebrate our anniversary. It was delicious and really beautiful.

Fiona is wonderful to work with. Always on e-mail, reasonably priced, and gives her honest opinion. I met with her twice and she told me her ideas. I ended up getting cupcakes and small tier on top for cutting. The cupcakes were amazing and the cake was to die for.

The cake was delicious!! Several guests told us that is was the best wedding cake they had ever had. Fiona made us an amazing yellow cake with alternating layers of raspberry and chocolate filling. Not only was it tasty, it was beautiful!

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect cake. We had a beach wedding and wanted the cake to be non-traditional. We asked Fiona to make a blue buttercream cake (to represent the ocean) with fondant surfboards as decoration and lilies as the topper. The cake itself was a lemon cake with raspberry and cream cheese fillings. The cake looked beautiful and fit our theme perfectly. And the taste? Out of this world. So light, so refreshing. It was perfect for a hot day. Fiona's work is impeccable and she was a pleasure to work with at our cake tasting. We've already frozen our cake top and I can't wait to dive into it on our 1 year anniversary. I'll have her bake cakes for any special event I have in the future!

Fiona and her cakes are the absolute best--fresh and delicious cakes made the old fashioned French way. Fiona worked with us to create a cake that fit our expectations and budget considering our approximately 175 guests. It was also really beautiful. We had a smaller cake to feed 60 in the ballroom (on display) then sheet cakes in the kitchen which were cut up for the remainder of the guests. Fiona will not disappoint!!

Fiona's Cakes was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our cake was beautiful and so yummy! We had a vintage theme, so our cake was kind of simple, but Fiona made it look stunning. We wanted a messy buttercream frosting and she made it look timeless. We bought custom toppers almost at the last minute and she had no problem with us sending them to her for the big day. She went on vacation for a week during the summer and made sure to communicate with us that she would be unavailable. We went with a simple vanilla cake with raspberry filling for one tier and a luscious almond cake with an almond crunch filling for the other and the top. Both were divine! Everyone loved the cake and I can't wait to tear into that top tier on our 1st anniversary!

I have nothing bad to say about this vendor. The cake tasted like a slice of heaven, Fiona was very accommodating, she delivered the cake on time, and the price-to-quality ratio is perfect.

Fionna arranges a cake tasting that is out of this world. She has many cake flavors and fillings to choose from. She will accommodate any of your ideas, and can do traditional, contemporary and custom designs. Fionna decorated 3 different sized cakes with different fillings for us, and when we asked her to size each one to put on our pedastals for the presentation, she performed the job beautifully. Fionna personally delivers the cakes and sets up the cake table, and the cakes were delicious!

Fiona's cake for my wedding was absolutely what I wanted. She had so many flavors and designs to choose from. Definitely top notch, I received a lot of compliments!

Fiona was very easy to work with and she definitely delivered a fantastic looking cake! It really photographed well. Unfortunately we didn't love the taste of the cake (plain vanilla - buttercream icing) on the wedding day as much as we did in the cake tasting. It just wasn't as tasty as I remembered :-) We have some in our freezer right now, and my husband and I keep contemplating tossing it because neither of us really wants to eat it again.

We loved our cake from Fiona's. She was willing to do the decorations we wanted as part of the cake package rather than charging us more, as some other vendors wanted to for our elaborate vision. We also loved the glazes she used on her cakes to keep them moist--well worth the couple extra dollars. Of the seven or so cake vendors we did tastings with, her cakes were the the best hands down. I was very pleased that Fiona was so easy to work with. She let me change my mind, made good recommendations, really saw my vision and helped perfect it, and worked with us long distance to accomplish our goals for appearance, coordination with our reception venue, and even arranging to get a cake platter back to her early (on a weekend) since everyone in the wedding was flying out before the next business day. Fiona's follow up was amazing. I never had to worry about my cake. It showed up on time, looked amazing, tasted amazing, and was the best decision we could have made. Don't let the small store or independent bakery throw you off, Fiona is professional in every way, returns calls promptly, and is really invested in making every cake magical.

Our cake was absolutely delicious. Fiona's flavors are delicious and different than any other cake baker we taste tested with. My only confusion was that we order a cake that had 1 tier Tiramasu and 1 tier Almond Brittle, however after talking to my guests, I haven't spoken to a single person who had a piece of Tiramasu. I am wondering whether the cake even had it. But all in all, the cake was delicious and I can't wait for our anniversary to enjoy another slice. (Fiona is willing to make you a replica top tier on your anniversary so that the cake is fresh rather than frozen!) I would definitely consider buying cakes from her in the future for other events.

It was so good the only cake I got was at the tasting and when we cut the cake!!! Our guests loved Fiona's cake so much they went back for seconds and thirds. We had chocolate and almond pound. Fiona is great and so reasonable. Instead of saving the top tier, we took the option of getting a fresh cake on our anniversary (for a minimal price). I can't wait for our anniversary to finally taste some of the cake!

For us, the cake wasn't the biggest priority so we wanted a vendor that would be very easy to work with. Fiona was absolutely perfect in understanding what we wanted and creating us a beautiful cake that fell in the theme if our wedding. She suggested a buttercream cake that had a mix of colors in the layers. Fiona gives you generous portions at the cake tasting so you can actually make an informed decision on the cake flavors... my favorite part :) I would recommend Fiona's for anyone looking for a straightforward, honest vendor to work with!

We chose Fiona to make our wedding cake. The cake was white with red roses cascading down. It ended up being BEAUTIFUL. She did a great job. The cake was delicious.

The rich flavor and moistness put this cake head and shoulders above the other cake bakers in the Annapolis area. My guests raved about it and the leftovers disappeared very quickly at the morning-after brunch even though many people claimed to be too full for cake.

The cake was delicious and Fiona was wonderful making my vision into reality....using both fondant and buttercream.

My husband was only concerned with helping with the wedding cake selection through the wedding planning process. He was so excited to meet with Fiona and try all of her delicious cakes! He decided we should go with a chocolate cake with raspberry fillings and was more than pleased with his selection! The cake was simple yet beautiful. We had fresh flowers waiting for Fiona when she arrived for her to decorate the cake with and I was blown away with her work! We recieved tons of compliments on the cake- and the cake enthusiast himself LOVED the cake! We saved the top tier to enjoy over xmas with our family and we can't wait to enjoy again! Fiona is wonderful! We went to three other bakeries before we found out about Fiona. WHAT a world of a difference! She was by far the most attentive, sweetest of the bakers AND had the most yummy cake! My husband and I made the decision right away to go with her. She really listened to our ideas for the cake. The cake arrived on time and looked beautiful! We did an almond cake with almond brittle frosting and raspberry as well as chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry. EVERYONE loved it! And we even had a little left over to take home. We froze it and ate it on our 2 wk anniversary and it was SO YUMMY! We also saved the top tier for our 1 yr. Fiona is a great baker and the cake looked and tasted AMAZING!

Fiona's Cakes was a referral from a friend of mine and I could not have been happier. All of Fiona's cakes are made fresh from scratch! Our initial meeting with Fiona was comfortable and informative. We were able to try a lot of the cakes that she has made and she had so many books to look through to get ideas on what we wanted. When we arrived at the reception the cake was more beautiful than I had imagined. The setup and delivery were seamless. It was even more wonderful when we cut our cake. All of our guests raved about how wonderful it was and went back for seconds! We are looking forward to enjoying the cake again on our 1 Year Anniversary!

After taste testing several suggested cake shoppes--we decided on Fiona's cakes! She was a breeze to work with, the cake was stunning and tasted amazing. We had tons of compliments from our guests. Fiona made, decorated, and delivered the 4 tier cake to the eastern shore. She even leased us a plateau to display it on. First class service and product. Worth every dime. We opted for the white cake with lemon and raspberry fillings frosted with american buttercream. Each slice had 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling surrounded byt the best frosting!

This was absolutely the best wedding cake I've eaten. We ordered an almond cake with a raspberry filling and some ameretto. We specifically chose the European buttercream b/c the American cream was too sweet. The European just melts in your mouth. If you like sugary sweet frosting, then go for the American. But if you are a true foodie, I guarantee you will prefer the European. Worth the extra cost. We saved our cake leftover and we'll probably eat in within a few weeks. As for the decoration, we just asked for simple so can't give you much advice here. If you are going to be very picky about how your design/logo looks, then make sure to give her the exact color. We sent ours by mail so that she can get the color correct. But I didn't think the design matched exactly the way it was supposed to look. But then again, I wasn't too detailed in my instructions. In the end though, what i really cared about was how it tasted and there were no disappointments there for sure.

Fiona was fabulous to work with. Her cakes are all hand made, filling included. Her white butter cream frosting is to die for and isn't waxy like we found at some main stream bakeries. She asked for our preferences before our consultation and baked up some samples as well as other ideas to get a full idea of what she was capable of. Also she's very open when designing the cake and will use multiple flavors for different layers. Her work looks and tastes amazing. Also, she's VERY reasonable. We paid about $5.50 a slice.

Loved the cake- flavor, design, etc. Exactly what I wanted.;Works out of her home and is not eager to drive far to deliver a cake.
