Growing up, owner Cecelia Baker Grade developed a passion for the craft after helping her mother in the kitchen. In 2008, she decided to further her knowledge by taking food courses in high school and competing in cooking competitions. Since then, she has received a Baking and Pastry degree from Kendall College in Chicago and has interned under many great head chefs. Now, she has decided to flourish and make her own way in the culinary world by setting up The Cake Lady, which we know and love. The Cake Lady will organize a consultation and trial meeting with you to discuss and taste-test their many creations. Cecelia offers over 10 cake flavors and 20 fillings, so you can customize your cake to fit your taste buds. She can also adorn the cake's exterior with lovely designs and piping. Other sweet treats available include cookies and cupcakes. Once you have chosen your items, this baker will deliver and set up at your venue. Hi! My name is Cecelia Baker Grade, YUP, you got that right my middle name is Baker! Extremely fitting because I am the Owner, Lead Decorator and Lead Baker at The Cake Lady. After high school I received my Baking and Pastry degree from Kendall College in Chicago, IL and then proceeded to intern at Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro on the pastry line. After a few years with Bartolotta, I was introduced to the owner of The Cake Lady, Karen Smith, and hired on in 2012 to be her assistant. In February of 2018 I officially bought The Cake Lady, and I am ready to bake for you on your special day!

Cecelia was amazing to work with! When we had our tasting, we loved that we were able to mix and match flavors to truly get a cake that was unique to us. After we had time to try all the flavors and discuss together as a couple, Cecelia came back to the tasting table and helped us sort through and settle on the flavors we wanted when we couldn't pick just the 2 flavors we needed for our 2 tier cutting cake. We ended on orange and chocolate ganache for our top tier and almond with raspberry preserves for the larger tier. Both tasted incredible! She by far had the most options for fillings and buttercreams than many bakeries we looked at truly allowing us to cater to our theme and our unique taste buds. For the design, she helped us land on the perfect elegant fall theme merging our desire to incorporate gold foil and a simple leaf stencil. In addition, we were able to get matching cupcakes to contribute to our dessert table and provide guests with options. While we had the option to save our top tier for ourselves as an anniversary cake we chose to cut it all and share it with our guests. While we don't regret sharing our whole cake, we will definitely be visiting again to order an anniversary cake just so we can indulge in the amazing flavor and taste of The Cake Ladys creations again!

Cecelia is AMAZING! When we went for our tasting she had all the cakes and frostings separate on a little plate so we could mix and match flavors easily. She left us alone so we could openly share our thoughts with each other and would periodically come check on us to make sure we didn't need anything. She talked with us about what vision we had for the cake and gave us suggestions on what would work best to bring our ideas to life. We settled on the vanilla cake with butterscotch buttercream and it was amazing! For our couples cake, we did a spiced cake with lemon buttercream that was surprisingly very good together. I highly recommend trying it!On the day of, she delivered the cake and decorated it right there. It was absolutely stunning! We haven't gotten our professional pictures back yet but here is small glimpse of the magic she created.

Cecelia is amazing. We had her provide our wedding cake. Starting with the day of our tasting I fell in love with her cake. I love that she gave us options to customize fillings and cake flavors instead of giving preset fillings and cake flavors already made like some bakeries provide. We could play around with the flavors provided and they were all fantastic. She explained everything so well regarding the process of decoration of the cake. Which turned out stunning. I was impressed when I saw it for the first time for cake cutting I didn’t actually want to cut into it because it was so beautiful. The cake was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had. On the wedding night I had guests consistently compliment the cake. I had even my maid of honor ask our venue if they had any cake left that she can take home. Cecelia is absolutely amazing and was great to work with. We did a few cake tastings prior and after having our one with The Cake Lady, we knew she was the right decision. She allows for full customization and took our vision for a cake and portrayed it beautifully. We had a large wedding so decided to do a smaller cake and about 200 mini cupcakes. There wasn’t a crumb left at the end of the night and everyone talked about how great the dessert was.

Cecelia is amazing! She was so flexible with us with the ideas and changes we made through the whole process. From going to having a wedding cake with sheet cakes for serving, to changing it to a small cake for us with cupcakes for our guests, she was there every step of the way. She gave me realistic information about what I wanted and her best advice on how to put things together to make them work. She has the most DELICIOUS cake and it stays fresh baked tasting for days. I don't know how she does it, but everything we tried from her was amazing. She even let us try another cake tasting box closer to the wedding as we had done it so far beforehand that we weren't sure if we wanted the same flavors. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for cakes or cupcakes or any dessert that she can make! She is also very reasonably priced.

We had an amazing time working with The Cake Lady! The take-home tasting kit is a great idea, and it let us try a bunch of different combinations with no pressure (just some difficult choices since all of her flavors are so yummy). We made a last-minute decision to include a sheet cake in another flavor combo than our tiered cake, and both were so delicious - we got tons of compliments, and I'm already looking forward to taking our top tier out of the freezer next fall and enjoying it again :) We also rented our cake stand from The Cake Lady, and that just upped the wow factor of our cake. I was excited to work with The Cake Lady because of all the positive reviews. I live out of state so my form of communication was through email. She had given me a quote for a two tier cake, textured with gold accent. I had wanted flowers on my cake and she said she could reach out to my florist or do a pick up to put on my cake. A few months later I reached out to her because my wedding was coming up in a couple weeks and I wanted to pay off the remaining balance. She had doubled the amount that had been due! When I asked why she said it was because of the fillings I had chosen which was only $10 more which was reasonable, and the rest because of higher food cost. I didn’t have any other choice but to pay it because my wedding was only weeks away. The day of the wedding, I hadn’t seen the cake until my husband and I were about to cut it, and that’s when I saw there were no flowers on the cake. It was just a white cake with some gold flecks. I’m very disappointed with this vendor. The cake was ok, but the sheet cake we got for the guests was better and only $30! Make sure you sign a contract!!

If you have a wedding in the Milwaukee area and you're in need of baked goods... look no further. Cece made our five-tier wedding cake as well as 200+ cookie wedding favors for our September 2021 wedding and they all turned out perfectly. Whether you have something very specific in mind or just a general notion (I was the latter), she can take your ideas and transform them into works of art. Logistically, she coordinated with the venue and the florist which helped a lot with cutting down on stress for me on the big day. She's the most sought-after and well-known in town for a reason. Looking forward to eating more of her cakes, cookies, and cupcakes in the future!

My husband and I had the BEST experience with Cece. Our wedding was rescheduled multiple times due to COVID-19 and she was kind and accommodating throughout the whole process. She even made us a small cake for our backyard reception that we held on our supposed to be wedding day. The cake for our large ceremony a year later was absolutely STUNNING and it tasted even better than it looked. We had the pleasure of savoring a piece of our little cake that we had frozen for our one year anniversary and it tasted as if she had baked it that morning. You guys! Stop what you are doing and order from the cake lady!!!!! Planning a wedding during COVID has been a crazy time for everyone. Cece was absolutely amazing, from tasting to set up... she was easy to communicate with and so quick to respond. I really appreciated her set up of our desserts and cake day of. The cake lady is incredibly affordable and my husband and I literally did not get a chance to try her cookies or cupcakes the day of our wedding because our guests loved them so much! 100% would recommend for any needs such as a wedding, birthday, work party etc.

Cece did an incredible job making our wedding cake. My husband and I chose three flavors and they all were delicious. We did not have a lot of ideas as far as design went, but Cece made a sketch of all of our ideas at the tasting and we knew it was perfect. From our cake tasting to our wedding day, she understood exactly what we wanted our wedding cake to be. First of all, every cake we tried of hers was TO DIE FOR! Cece is amazing!!! She has such great energy and you can tell she loves what she does. Her cakes are TO DIE FOR. We had two different kinds (lavender and chocolate) and they were both a hit with our guests. My husband is dying to break into our anniversary topper already and it hasn't even been a month. I was recommended to check out The Cake Lady from a few acquaintances, and I am so glad that I did! Our cake tasting appointment was so fun; all of the cakes were SO DELICIOUS! It was really hard to pick what flavor would be best for our wedding. We had a four tiered wedding cake and it was absolutely gorgeous! Very unique, and Cece was super pumped about being creative! Words cannot describe how happy I am that Cece made our wedding cake. She is such a joyful, sweet, and thoughtful person, and was so easy to contact with any questions I had during the process. Cece could not have made it easier to finalize our plans for our beautiful and delicious cake. We knew a flavor combination we wanted and she made it happen for us- helping us easily define the size and plan for our cake. The cake exceeded all expectations- as did her service level. I cannot say enough good things about working with Cece aka The Cake Lady!! We were referred to her by our wedding venue, and our coordinator had gotten her cake from there for her own wedding. From the moment I contacted her Cece responded quickly and accommodated every single thing I asked! The fact that she had tasting to go bags worked so well for us, since we planned our wedding from out of town. She took care of everything in terms of delivery so that we arrived to our beautiful cake, flowers arranged on it, and even our cake cutters arranged perfectly at our venue. And can I mention the cake itself was AMAZING. Everyone loved it and raved about it. We had a fall ceremony and went with the spice cake, which was delicious and perfect for the season. If you are getting married in the Milwaukee area, there is no one better to go to!

Cece aka "The Cake Lady" was a complete joy to work with in creating our wedding cake! She is a gem and a talented baker whose joy is truly contagious. It's apparent that Cece loves what she does and for good reason; her cakes are both beautiful and unforgettably delicious! Cece from the Cake Lady is absolutely AMAZING! She goes above and beyond to make sure your cake turns out perfect for your big day. From start to finish, Cece thought of every detail, and how to create a unique cake for my husband and I. Her cakes turn out beautiful, and taste delicious. I really loved working with her each step of the way. Guests from my wedding were talking about the cake all night. You will not regret having Cece make your wedding cake! After the whole wedding planning process, I consider Cece a friend! I truly believe that speaks volumes of the kind hearted person she is. After the wedding we ordered another cake from Cece with our wedding flavors (we weren't ready to be done celebrating!!). Cece is the best!!!!

We absolutely adored working with Cece for our wedding cake. We had the best time trying all the flavors at our tasting and immediately knew it was a no brainer to work with her. She was so kind from the moment we scheduled our tasting all the way through our wedding day. She is truly remarkable at what she does and made it so memorable for us!! Not only was the cake beyond delicious but the design of the cake was gorgeous and was exactly what we were looking for. We can't wait to have Cece bake for us again!!!

We had such an incredible wedding cake experience thanks to The Cake Lady! My family is full of sweet-treat addicts, so we wanted to make sure we provided a great dessert at our wedding. After a delightful tasting with Cece, we knew our search was over. She had great flavor options, freehand sketched a design idea for us, and then completely delivered in terms of execution. I had so many people come up to me during the reception and the next day, raving about the cake. It was as beautiful as it was delicious and as is clear from Cece’s Instagram account, she is super creative and talented! I hope to work with her again in the future!

Cece was an absolute joy to work with. Not only is she kind and genuine but her desserts are so DROOL-WORTHY!!! We chose to do a tasting with her after my husband's sister used The Cake Lady for her wedding cake a couple years back. I was pretty set on having ice cream for an untraditional wedding dessert, but our tasting with Cece changed my mind. We went with cupcakes--five different flavors. Cece was incredibly accommodating to give us exactly what we wanted (even going the extra mile with our anniversary "cake topper" cake!). Communication was easy and always a pleasure. I would recommend The Cake Lady to anyone (even if you're not getting married and just need really good dessert!). Thanks Cece!!!!!

If you're looking for the best wedding cakes out there WITH the best service possible, you'll want to choose Cece at the Cake Lady! From start to finish, Cece was 100% attentive and detail oriented. We worked together 1 on 1 to design a cake that matched the details of my wedding dress and the finished product was a million times better than I had imagined! In addition to our cake, Cece made two other cakes for us. One for a friend who skipped his college graduation for our wedding and another for my sister-in-law who's birthday was the same day as our wedding. The nursing school-themed cake and birthday cake were the best surprises we could have given to our loved ones on that day - not only did they look fantastic, but everyone loved the flavors Cece helped us to pick for them! What really stood out about Cece was that she helped to find a way for our cakes to travel 8 hours in the car AND a ferry boat ride to Mackinac Island AND THEN a horse-drawn carriage to our venue. On top of that, she coordinated with the wedding planners at our venue to ensure the cakes were set up exactly how she knew they would look best and for us to surprise our friends with their special cakes during the reception. If ya want the best, call Cece!!
