We even earned bonus additions like a champagne wall and a digital love story touchscreen just by participating in surveys. On the big day, Sammy and our banquet captain Kelly were incredible. Everything ran smoothly, and they added thoughtful touches that made us feel genuinely cared for. Kelly made sure we ate, stayed hydrated, and even packed us leftovers we hadn’t gotten to try. Sammy left us a framed photo and note before ending her shift. They truly went above and beyond. We also chose Flit Flowers, one of Wedgewood’s preferred vendors. Alex and their team created the vibrant, colorful vision we had dreamed of, even on our tight budget. Our DJ, Kyon, listened to what we wanted and delivered music that felt completely personalized. He kept the energy perfect all night, acted as a great MC, and checked in regularly to ensure everything flowed seamlessly. Even our bartenders were a great time. They were fun, respectful, and professional. Wedgewood Carlsbad made our wedding unforgettable. We are so thankful to Sammy, Kelly, and the entire team. We would choose them again in a heartbeat. We might even be back for an anniversary one day! Excited to hear that some of our friends have chosen Wedgewood properties for their special day as well after coming to ours.

have ever planned a wedding even half as amazing as ours was if it weren’t for the team at the windmill and their expertise in how to make the planning process as seamless as possible. All of our guests commented on how beautiful everything was and said it was one of the best weddings they’d ever been to. Sammy was such a joy to work with. She went above and beyond to help us create the wedding we wanted and we had such a blast laughing and planning with her! Tabitha was our day of coordinator and she was perfect! I knew I was in good hands and didn’t stress about a single thing because she was so on top of it all. Rhys was our DJ and he was amazing! He created such a fun atmosphere and all of our guests loved him! Kelly was our banquet manager for the evening and we were blown away by her service! She checked on us consistently throughout the night and made sure we were never wanting for anything. We did a lot of researching and hunting before finding the Windmill and can confidently say that booking a wedding here is the absolute best value. Our wedding was everything we wanted and for the lowest price. All of the other venues we found would have been significantly more costly, and a lot more work, than what the Wedgewood Windmill offered. If we could go back and do it all over, choosing the Windmill again would be the easiest decision! ed the wrong song for our groom +mother of the groom dance and to top it all off, one of their employees stole some of our cards and wedding gifts!! We had to file a police report and we are currently pressing charges. When I called Wedgewood to get this resolved none of the coordinators called us back. They told us multiple times in our appointments that the coordinator would tell our selected person when to transition gifts to the hospitality suite. This never happened so our gifts were left out. When I finally talked with the manager, Louise, she told me that was our fault. She also stated that the person that stole from us was just a contractor. She works for the food court as well. Louise let her go for what she did, but she couldn’t tell me if she still works for the food court which they share the building with! When I asked for clarification regarding why the gifts weren’t moved the manager Louise again blamed me, the bride, stating that it wasn’t their job. No one has called us to apologize because all they care about it that they got paid. It’s sad honestly. This was supposed to be one of happiest days of my life

a large variety of restaurants. If youre staying at the hotel connected, it was such a great place to hangout with your bridal parties before everything starts. Moving along to the even areas, the ceremony room gives off a modern barn yard style venue and it's such a pleasant contrast from what you initially see when first walking in which really adds to the "wow" factor when entering the room. The cocktail hour area is amazing as well and after we gifted some of our items, they will now have Cornhole and a beer cart available! The area itself is wide open with great seating areas as well. The reception is another instance where the contrast is such a difference from the food hall downstairs, it once again adds so much to that jsw drop reaction. We were approached multiple times complementing how "cool" this venue was and it was definitely a true compliment. Now the venue wouldn't be anywhere with out the staff and I can not say enough great things about them. The entire time was courteous, professional and really give they sense that they want to make sure you have your special day as one to remember. Specifically wanted to shout out our amazing coordinator - Brianna, banquet captain - Lee j and Dj - Rhy's. These three went above and beyond for us and it seemed like that was just their normal demeanor. Brianna made sure we had nothing to worry about and made every part of the planning process a breeze. Lee J was also always checking in appropriately often to ensure we were never left wanting, thirsty or hungry. Rhy's was also great to work with, we had a very specific request with music which ended up having my wife and I take part in a lightsaber fight to two different versions of starwars music - Duel of the Fates, and he handled it masterfully. All in all, 10/10 can not recommend enough.

The cons:Venue was dirty.Details were missed, IE correct color of napkins/having toilet paper stocked in restrooms.EVERYTHING is extra, even when you opt for the highest package like we did.$250 is their favorite number.If you remove something from your package they only credit you half of the cost, but If you add something you pay full price.Some vendors good.Bakery was rude to my daughter because she didn't want to pay extra for a tasting that was supposed to be included, so we got desserts from somewhere else.Florist added additional fees and charged WAY too much for what you get(bridal bouquet is NOT included in package)DJ charges extra for lights that should be included.Hotel is disorganized/not very clean. Rooms are basic.Don't let the bridal suite fool you.You don't deal with the same person when coordinating details so many things get missed, IE which side the brides/grooms families should sit on.Our guests had to be moved before the ceremony.When things weren't going well, I requested a meeting on a Tues, and they said no, they had staff meetings and were too busy, but our 10 day meeting was on a Tues and we were the only people there and we could move our appt "to any time" because "Tuesdays aren't busy".They don't have much to chose from for table decor, you are left buying things like table runners, even though they are supposed to be included.You can't have real candles at this venue.We didn't get stuff we were supposed to like fruit with kids meals, no bread at certain tables, they poured champaign but never did a toast.They ran out of appetizers after 15 minutes and many didn't get any.They ask for boxes for leftover desserts but don't package them up and send them.We brought desserts and they wouldn't keep them in a frig the night before even though there was no event the day before.Every chance they got to say NO, they did. My daughter requested watermelon margarita as her signature drink and they said no. After she changed her custom bar sign to reg margarita, they said ok we'll do it.They said we could request brands for the bar but they only accommodated three and that was like pulling teeth.We had to buy coke for the bar because they wouldn't provide it.The venue was dirty. Our dresses were black at the bottom from the floors.There was glitter/old flower petals on chairs in ceremony room.Patio wasn't pressure washed as promised.Seat cushions in reception room had ketchup on them and when asked to be cleaned they turned them over.We chose this venue after hearing good things, and needing a place that could handle most of the planning due to my daughter being in her last semester of nursing school, but later learned that this location is new and the good things we heard were from other locations.We ended up doing a lot ourselves.This was not the caliber of event we thought we were throwing.Sadly there are no do overs with a once in a lifetime event like a wedding.And, after we realized we were missing my daughters special champaign glasses and they wouldn't ask the banquet captain about them.I got response saying they don't have any lost and found items.This was after they were all tipped well.

tremely helpful every step of the way. Our wedding was larger number at this venue, 173 total, and it was beyond perfect thanks to this team. The food was so delicious, the decor was set up beautifully, and the music was exactly what we asked for: Vegas club but make it wedding lol. We were not an easy group with a large attendance and large wedding parties, but not once did we feel judged. We were constantly treated with kindness and any help we needed, we received. This team knows what they are doing and I'd do it with them all over again!

She did such a great job of organizing our family and friends for the ceremony and was essential to creating a stress-free day for us. Having the windmill food hall attached to the venue made it more fun and convenient for our guests before and after our wedding. The hotel is within walking distance, literally next door which was a plus. I highly recommend this location they exceed our expectations!

Jax went above and beyond and worked extra to help the venue provide us with black chargers plates for our wedding. Kayla was an amazing day-of coordinator for us and helped the day run smoothly. was indecisive about something. The location was ideal as we had many guests flying in. Our guests really appreciated the accommodations and food options that were walking distance. The venue itself is beautiful and can be transformed quite a bit! We were very impressed with the use of decorations we provided and the way the decorations were transitioned from cocktail hour to the reception. On the day of, all the staff including Jax and Fadi were so attentive and made our day perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience. As far as costs, you are provided a pretty transparent break-down of what everything will cost. We were initially deciding between two packages and Sydney gave us approximate quotes based on our headcount which helped us make the decision to go with the Elite package. For any bride who is not looking to hire a wedding planner, Wedgewood is the way to go!

After lots of accommodations from the entire Wedgewood team (up and down the West coast) we were able to extend our wedding date by a year and select the Windmill and we were BLOWN away when we walked in. My wife’s dream was too always get married by the beach, and after somewhat of a bumpy start we were able to make that happen. When the day finally arrived our guests were completely awe struck at the venue service and all around esthetic of this amazing venue. From the white exposed brick in the ceremony chapel to the gargantuan wood vaulted ceilings in the loft, the windmill is really something to behold and cherish if you ever get the pleasure to visit. Wedgewood made all of our most wanted memorable moments come to life and we couldn’t be any happier! Also, extra props to the Carlsbad Inn by the Sea for our guest accommodations and Windmill Foodhall for the rehearsal dinner set up! Thanks Wedgewood Carlsbad Windmill team! John and Ashleigh Dias.

g the windmill, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. It’s simple but beautiful and has everything you need. From the initial tour/meeting, we felt the windmill was a great fit for us and Sydney was big part of helping us make our decision. We toured multiple other venues but what really stood out was how personable Sydney was and how we truly felt like she wanted to get to know us as a couple. Compared to other venues, we were given much more details about the process and the different packages. We liked that it was basically an all-inclusive package, but you had the flexibility to add or remove things and we felt the price was very reasonable. Throughout the planning process, we received help from multiple different employees but they were all great and quick to respond to any questions we had. All the other vendors included in our package were also wonderful to work with and highly recommend using them if you can (Cute Cakes, Moments in Bloom, Stay Classy Events). The day of the wedding, I knew everything would be taken care of and without much guidance from us, everything was decorated beautifully. Ashley and Fadi were also very helpful the day-of and made sure we were taken care of throughout the day/night. Planning a wedding from out-of-state was easy thanks to the Wedgewood Weddings staff. We can’t say enough great things about having our wedding here! Everything went smoothly and all the guests had a blast and we are so thankful we found this venue and the amazing staff who made sure we had the best day ever!

an incredibly gorgeous indoor venue that was going to be perfect for our September 2020 wedding. Fast forward to July of 2020 when we were trying to figure out if we should be sending out our official invites because COVID showed no signs of slowing down, and the Windmill tried to tell us they saw no problems moving forward with our 150-guest wedding and we should go ahead and send invites. We didn't feel comfortable with this (obviously) and told them we'd like to reschedule, so they said we had the option of any Monday-Thursday date between January and March of 2021. After booking the venue with full trust in the original planner about "how great Wedgewood is to work with," I was pretty upset that my Saturday wedding was going to become a weekday wedding. We responded by saying that we'd just need to go ahead and cancel, and they came back with a few Saturdays. While our wedding was fun, I wish we would have canceled and gone elsewhere when we had the chance. We rebooked in July 2020 for June of 2021. After radio silence until I emailed them in March 2021 (8 months after rebooking), we found that the entire planning team had changed and they tried to walk back some of the promises they had made early on for some rentals we could use without charge. The planning team is all very green and is pretty disorganized. We got tossed between three different planners in the lead-up to our wedding day and I wouldn't be surprised if it was our planner's first week (she joined our wedding team the day before the wedding). She had a hard time handling flower girls (they were 3, so, fine, they were excited and squealy but not unmanageable) and didn't seem to learn anyone in the bridal party's names. From a timeline standpoint, the planners created a timeline for the ceremony-onward, but anything beforehand for photo coordination was on us (per my photographer, planners normally do this). There was also really no guidance for what was normal or what should happen at what point when we asked, since this was our first wedding and we're the first of most of our friends to get married -- for example, they put the father of the bride speech after the best man and the MOH speech -- which my dad promptly corrected the day of. The planner headed out right as dinner was served. Before our ceremony, the planning team was running tours while we were trying to take pictures in the venue. It's more than a little frustrating when you're paying tens of thousands of dollars for your big day and you're suddenly avoiding the random people walking around in the background of your photos. The venue was beautiful, as expected, and photographed well. The food was okay (dual plated meal) - it was a bit challenging to coordinate guests' dietary restrictions with the planning team. I hope everyone got what they ordered, but I don't know that anyone would have complained to me if they didn't. The DJ recommended by the venue was also okay - he played fun music but wasn't a great emcee and played the wrong song for our first dance. Overall, the party was great, but I think that had more to do with the people than the location. While the day was beautiful and one I'll never forget, if I were to do it over again I'd book a different venue.

She was such a dream to work with and her positive, enthusiastic attitude was noticed by not only the wedding part but by all of the guests in attendance. I couldn't have asked for a better day of coordinator. The only complaint that I have is that the bartender that was there was really rude to our wedding guests and that wasn't necessary to treat our guests in that way especially when they were nothing but kind to her and also tipped her very generously through the night.

The entire planning process was made relatively simple and painless for us. The Bride's suite was fabulous. We had everything we needed. Access to the garden, a swing, plenty of room, and we all loved the slimming mirror. One thing that would be great is if we got to keep the room until the next morning. The wedding turned out perfectly. There are so many moving parts, but the planning, organization and execution was on point. Our flowers were beautiful, everything was set up as discussed without any hitches. The ceremony was easy and flowed just as expected. The room is so bright and beautiful, everyone loved it. The reception was perfect with food that was delicious and wine a flowing. Highly recommend this venue for weddings or any other event.

We knew from that moment on it was perfect for us and we booked! Our first date was set on July 2020 but with Covid starting we unfortunately couldn't go on but Katey, Katie and Sydney did not hesitate to make us feel heard and helped us reschedule our wedding date with no problem at all! Which made planning a wedding during Covid so much more stress free! Our wedding was on May 27th, 2021 and the day was nothing but perfect! From Flitflowers being incredibly wonderful and bringing the best bouquets and boutonniéres to Leah Marie Photography The Studio making us feel our best and beautiful in taking photos! It was our dream wedding come true! And I wouldn't change a thing! Thank you Wedgewood for being with us every step of the way and making our wedding so much more special!

Wedgewood has a coordinating staff that was very communicative and would schedule various dates to ensure we were on time with completing certain tasks and keeping track of our to do list items. The coordinators made it very easy for the bridal party to be prepared for the wedding day. I think the only (sort of) downfall was the coordinator left once dinner was served and we were handed off to another staff (whose primary role was in the kitchen). From that point our timeline for the rest of the evening didn't really happen or was behind, but we (guests included) didn't mind because we were having such a great time. Evening went by too fast!

of where the pandemic would be in January of 2021. From the beginning both Katie’s were extremely helpful and attentive to any questions or concerns I had. Living hours away from the venue they eased my stress and helped anywhere they could and always kept us up to date with any closing or guidelines that would or wouldn’t be in place as my wedding date got closer. Luckily, we were still able to have our wedding ceremony at the venue but not the reception due to following the closing of restaurant guidelines. We understood knowing we took the risk of booking a venue during a pandemic and possibly wouldn’t get any money back. Although they cancelled the reception 2-3 weeks before our wedding my husband and I were extremely pleased with Sandy and being able to get a full refund for canceling on us last minute. We were allowed to bring in a wooden cross my husband made to allow us to have some sort of religious aspect to our wedding since we didn’t have a traditional church wedding. We decided to donate it so any bride or groom could also have some sort of religious aspect to their weddings as well. The day of our wedding was amazing and everyone was so helpful. Also a huge thank you to Sydney when I realized 10 minutes before the ceremony that I didn’t have my veil on and she steamed my 120 inch veil! I highly highly recommend having your wedding here. If the staff can go above and beyond for me I would assume they would for any other bride or groom!

I will NEVER recommend anyone to them and hope no one has to go through what we've been through. They stole all our money and have lied to us throughout the whole process. Booking them for my wedding was the BIGGEST MISTAKE and has caused major financial damage. ANY Wedgewood venue is a grave MISTAKE to book!! YOU WILL REGRET IT- just read all negative reviews for the truth. I am not the only bride they did this to.

Katie and Sydney were there every step of the way answering my questions and guiding us through the planning process. We ended up having a beautiful, intimate ceremony at the Windmill and the planning team did everything in their power to make our day as perfect as possible given the circumstances! Their partner vendors (Flit Flowers, Cute Cakes, Forever Tomorrow Events, and Carlsbad by the Sea Hotel) were all fabulous to work with and I can’t imagine how much more stressful planning during a pandemic would have been if I had to wrangle different vendors on my own. I highly recommend The Carlsbad Windmill!

kages and pricing are very straight forward. Sydney was a joy to chat with during our consultation. She was caring and attentive to our needs, and really gave the impression that they cared. The follow up was also top notch customer service. If this is your venue style I would hire them immediately! The venue is beautifully, unique and modern.

ur paid deposit back especially because a pandemic prevents us from having social gatherings and it is simply unlawful and unsafe to do so. To our defense, we inquired on how the terms of the contract will take in effect as agreed because there are currently restrictions mandated by the state. Yet the venue was unsure since protocols are changing everyday. Because they can't provide us any real assurance, they should at least delay and halt the payments or at least allow us to cancel without sacrificing the deposit we paid so far. However, they strongly disagreed on both requests because they assume things will be normal by April 2021, and business is more important to them than their clients. They will only allow us to reschedule to a further date when on our actual April date, they can’t provide us the services we agreed upon because of the current guest limitations and other restrictions. Basically they are asking us to pay our full balance amount, made and forced to either compromise what is agreed on the contract or only allow to reschedule to a later date only when it is completely impossible to hold the wedding on the actual day. They will only allow you to reschedule then, but still don’t give the option to a full refund should we choose to cancel our wedding instead. The main reason why we believe Wedgewood is very shady and untrustworthy is the way they were very reluctant to give us at least a portion of our deposit back. Nowhere in their contract was there a force majeure clause which would’ve helped our case in getting a portion or full deposit back (this is very sly as all venues should have it). We pleaded that because of the ongoing pandemic and because they can’t provide us the services we agreed upon based on the contract, we should be entitled to get a partial or full refund of our paid deposit. We even inquired about the venue preparing the food to let us donate it to a food bank so that at least our paid deposit won’t totally go to waste, but the venue denied this charitable request anyway. In the very end, they didn’t give us back any of our paid deposit because their contracts deemed deposits as non-refundable. This is understandable to some degree, but they should at least be transparent during situations like this and provide a force majeure clause in their contracts considering the pandemic occurred drastically. More importantly, they should’ve at least given us a partial refund since NO REAL SERVICES were performed and because a PANDEMIC exists, preventing social gatherings in the first place. It shouldn’t cost $6k to reserve a wedding date. If couples do their research on Wedgewood, it appears that many other Wedgewood brides/couples are in the same situation as us where Wedgewood refuses to refund their clients and basically keep their money hostage. Unfortunately, we won’t be recommending or going back to any Wedgewood venues in the future. If you took the time to read this, please be mindful and choose carefully. Choose a venue that you can trust and choose one that is willing to support you especially during such a difficult time, that is all.
