The Carnegie is an entirely unique, romantic wedding venue located in historic downtown Elwood, IN. Affordable and convenient, this event venue is located less than 30 miles from Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Westfield, Kokomo, and Tipton and less than 45 miles from Indianapolis. Built in the Gilded Age of 1903, this former library was lovingly restored in 2023 and offers a blend of stunning neoclassical architecture and modern amenities.
Perfect for couples who love an elegant, vintage vibe, The Carnegie offers nostalgic charm at every turn. Your loved ones will be greeted by the library’s original octagonal circulation desk upon entering this timeless building. Several different spaces combine to create an idyllic setting for your ceremony and reception. The exterior is equally stunning, creating a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding photography. Before the celebrations begin, you and your wedding party can head into the get-ready suites, replete with an LED mirror wall and comfortable furnishings. Alternatively, relax in the billiard room to calm any pre-wedding nerves. Say “I do” amidst exposed brick and rich oak features. Enjoy cocktail hour in the reception hall, where the mahogany columns, original heart of pine and mosaic tile flooring, and warm antique lighting create a romantic and inviting atmosphere.
Your booking provides exclusive use of the library for 15 hours on your wedding day, which includes the use of a copper pipe ceremony arch, tables, and wood chairs for ~150 guests. Couples can also enjoy a one-hour rehearsal prior to the wedding, one on-site planning meeting ahead of the big day, and access to full-service or day-of coordination services. Set-up and tear-down are included, as are trash removal and cleaning services for your convenience. Above all, the team looks forward to welcoming you for your special day, where you’ll become a part of this venue’s unique history.

Owner
Greg and Jennifer both grew up in rural Indiana and have a heart for small communities and a passion for preserving history. They live on a blackberry farm with their four children - Sam, Nora, Jesse and Olivia. Both are highly entrepreneurial, having worked for decades in the corporate world and currently owning and operating a family blackberry operation and two event venues. They are no strangers to the wedding industry, having now hosted hundreds of weddings on their farm property over the past several years, and they can't wait to share The Carnegie with others...
