We stayed in the presidential suite with the adjoining room the night before the wedding to get ready and the night after just to relax!!!! Can't thank the Carnegie and their staff enough!!! The open bar went over perfectly, the bar tenders and servers was excellent and very helpful and Amy out did herself with helping me with my dream wedding! Thank you!!!!

We could not have asked for a more helpful staff - professional, courteous, and they take care of business! We stayed in one of the Presidential Suites which was large enough to accommodate my huge family and allow us time to socialize between events. Their hotel room rates are excellent for the quality of the accommodations. We only paid one fee for the use of the venue and were not charged any extra room rentals, no matter how many events we planned there for the wedding celebration. The food for every event we had was exceptional. Wellington's is a great restaurant and they were awesome to work with. The ballroom and adjoining dining hall and library were perfect for the reception and cocktail hour. The library allows guests to "get away" from the music and have conversations in a cozy setting. But the library adjoins the ballroom, so they don't miss out on any of the special moments throughout the evening. Carla Papy, Sales Associate, went above and beyond! She is super organized and made our experience easy and fun. The Carnegie was the perfect choice for my son's elegant, sophisticated, and fun wedding!

appy was the Event Coordinator and I can't say enough nice things about her, she was organized, kept us on time & up to date, but most of all made everything easy. On the night of the event, the staff, & bartenders were exceptional! They were all so attentive to our needs. The food was phenomenal and we heard a lot of compliments from our guests. Not only was everything absolutely perfect, it was also economical. This is definitely a jewel & I would recommend the Carnegie over and over again!

The staff is absolutely wonderful, both general hotel staff and event personnel. All friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. Amy Thomas, the event coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. Timely with responses and on top of all the details, everything you want when wedding planning. Both events went smoothly, I couldn't have asked for a better day or better people to work with to put it together. I would 100% recommend having your special day here.

I would recommend this venue to any bride in the Johnson City area, if it's your style! The Carnegie is not your typical "hotel reception" by any means, and it's history, elegance, location, and atmosphere make it a wonderful place! We are thankful for the simplicity that we experienced in planning our reception there!

say enough praise at how accommodating everyone there. We worked with Amy and she was available and so great to work with! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious and they have suites available that are even more spacious and beautiful! They have a great spa and it is top notch! We had a big wedding party and lots fam and friends and Amy helped us keep it all straight and made sure things went smoothly! The grooms parents had the rehearsal dinner there as well in one of their ballrooms which has a screen for video. The ballroom was great. The food was good and the service was excellent. We would highly recommend The Carnegie for your event!

hen everyone can just climb upstairs to their room after celebrating with you all day! The presidential suite is included for the bride and groom and that was SO nice to get ready there. It was SO massive. There must have been a dozen people in my room while trying to get ready and I still wasn't over whelmed! The food was great at the reception as well, and Amy is the wedding coordinator there was great & did everything she could to make our day special! I don't think she ever said "no" to any of my crazy requests!!

the beginning, she made careless errors in our paperwork, which we attempted on several occasions to have her correct, but was never accomplished. Due to these bonehead errors, the day before our wedding we spend over an hour straightening out the deal. She had no record of our down payment because she had misspelled our names, she had only ordered HALF of the amount of food we needed (thankfully the kitchen staff was prepared for our full amount; otherwise, I would have been mortified!!!), and all of the arrangements for the room had not been recorded, even though she and I had talked via phone, email, and in person dozens of times. Of course, she was out of town the weekend of my wedding, so we were given the run around when dealing with this. Thankfully, the event manager on duty made sure everything came off without a hitch, and none of our guests knew the issues that we had encountered. That's not all, though. During our wedding ceremony, and voicemail was left on my phone from the hotel wondering when our room would be empty THAT DAY so that another guest could be checked in!!!! We had reserved our suite for Friday night and Saturday night (our wedding night!!!) far in advance, and then I get this voicemail wondering what time on Saturday we would be gone?!?! Still not all-they were supposed to have sent food to our room from our reception because, of course, you don't have time to eat at your own wedding. No food was left, and when we called the front desk to ask about it, come to find out that our food had been sent to another, EMPTY suite! It was then brought from that room to us, and was stale. We ordered pizza instead. For some reason, they had booked two hotel suites in our name (again, most likely due to the misspellings). Finally, they overcharged us our room rate, and it took an act of God to get them to take it off. I spoke with one of the hotel managers after all of this, and he ended up taking one night off of our bill. Everything at our reception turned out fine, but only because I had kept every record of what I had paid, emailed, and discussed far in advance of our date. We chose this place because it is gorgeous and they take care (or, are supposed to take care) of everything-setting up, cleaning, serving...everything. We had some very high profile guests, lots of out of town guests, and wanted no aggravation that day, so the Carnegie seemed the obvious choice. Now, if the woman we dealt with is the only event planner there, I would not recommend this as a wedding venue to my worst enemy. There are plenty of wedding venues in our area.
