Before our visit, my former student shared that he no longer worked there and it didn’t end on the best terms. Even so, we decided to form our own opinions.
Unfortunately, our experience reflected many of the concerns he had mentioned. My friend, despite having purchased a pool pass and spending a significant amount at the restaurant, was not allowed to park in the garage—even though there were numerous vacant parking spaces on a Friday afternoon. It was an unnecessarily frustrating start to the day.
Once at the pool, there were several children who were extremely loud and disruptive, making it difficult to relax. While I understand that families use hotel pools, there was little consideration for guests seeking a more peaceful experience.
The service was also disappointing. Every staff member who delivered our drinks seemed robotic, rarely making eye contact or checking in to see if we needed anything. The interactions felt transactional rather than genuinely hospitable.
The one exception—and the reason this review isn’t entirely negative—is Ian. He came out to the pool to serve us later in the afternoon and completely changed the experience. He was warm, welcoming, personable, and genuinely attentive. We had all taken Uber rides to the hotel, so there were no concerns about transportation, and Ian ensured we felt taken care of throughout the rest of our visit.
Ian is truly the saving grace of this property. Had it not been for him, I would not consider returning, nor would I recommend this pool to friends or family. His professionalism and hospitality stood in stark contrast to the rest of our experience.
