The Carriage House at Garten Marketplatz

Enjoy the scenic six mile drive from SW Rochester on paved roads to a magical place nestled in the rolling hillsides of southeast Minnesota. We’ve owned and operated our family perennial farm with sprawling gardens which has hosted hundreds of weddings for over twenty-five years. Our new wedding & events facility is a heated & cooled a vintage, European-style carriage house to match our existing civil war era (1858!) brick house. The Carriage House can accommodate 150 guests in the warm months and 100 in the winter. The space flows into the gardens and expansive patio area for additional seating. Now booking for year-round events! We do still have 2023 openings, 2024 booking up quickly! Couples choose their own vendors to work within their budget. RENTAL RATES Rental fee includes access to and use of our beautiful gardens, pergola, private rooms for client, set up and tear down of tables and chairs for ceremony and reception, restroom facilities, onsite parking, head table, 6’ gift table, cake table, and event facilitation for the duration of the day. Only one wedding is booked per day. 2023-2024 Event Rates Sunday – Thursday: $4,000 (10 hours, 10a.m. - 8 p.m.) *Includes 2 hour rehearsal Friday: $5,500 (15 hours, 9 a.m. - 12 a.m.) *Includes 2 hour rehearsal Saturday: $6,000 (15 hours, 9 a.m. - 12 a.m.) *Includes 2 hour rehearsal Holiday Weekends: Additional $1,500 *When Available SERVICES PROVIDED • Staff: Garten Marketplatz will provide an events site-coordinator to be on duty during the entire event. This coordinator will set up the tables and chairs and provide information as needed to Client, guests, and vendors. Staff will also be attending to the building and will be available for questions or to respond to needs that may arise at any time. • Tables & Chairs: Such items are provided for up to 150 people and will be set up and taken down by Garten Marketplatz staff. Client must provide a layout for Garten Marketplatz staff. Additional tables and chairs may be rented from a rental company. • Parking: Ample parking is available Spring-Fall. Winter parking may be limited due to snowfall. Shuttles to transport your guests are welcomed. CATERING & ALCOHOL - (We do not provide) • Catering: Food products are encouraged to come from a licensed and insured caterer or kitchen to eliminate the Client’s liability of food borne illnesses. Prepackaged food, restaurant food, and grocery store food is included in catered items. If hiring a caterer, all caterers working at Garten Marketplatz are required to have a valid Certificate of Insurance and Catering License on file with us. • Liquor: Any company serving alcohol at Garten Marketplatz is required to have a valid Certificate of Insurance and appropriate Liquor License on file with us.
