Over the summer leading up to the wedding almost 2 whole months passed with multiple texts, calls, voice-mails, and emails to 2 different email addresses all going unanswered. We also found out that things advertised were not actually included, and none of these extra costs were presented to us up front, when we thought we were booking an inclusive venue. We had notified Janna very clearly in the months leading up to the wedding that we were utilizing Friday to set everything up in advance of the wedding Saturday. Janna was not there at the expected time and had her phone turned off. We waited outside the venue for an hour until she finally showed up. The venue had been left a wreck from the last event a whole week before. My fiance spent 2 hours having to vacuume her venue and clean mold out of the refrigerator. The rest of the family/wedding party present was taking down the previous occupants decorations, wiping down surfaces, and putting equipment away in her storage room. It wasn't until almost 3 full hours after our agreed upon time that we were able to begin setting up for our own event. On Saturday, with all of the wedding party present and getting dressed/starting the wedding events, Janna hosted TWO different tours of the venue, and walked groups all around the venue and through our own personal decor. My fiance had to confront her and ask her to stop bringing tour groups through our ACTIVE WEDDING. On Sunday, one of my vendors had agreed upon a time to pick up his equipment with both me and Janna three days prior. This vendor is out of town and was making a 4 hour trip for this appointment. Janna showed a sever lack of interest in this vendor's time, and once again started ignoring texts and calls from him when he was on his way to pick up his equipment. When she finally did get in touch with him, she told him that she would be over an hour late to this appointment. She then used the remining invoice as an excuse to hold this vendors equipment hostage in her venue. Overall, working with the Chairman's Retreat has been terrible. The owner is unprofessional and only interested in getting your money. She caused MANY issues and made my wedding experience extremely stressful.
