The Chapel by the Sea (Tybee Island Wedding Chapel)

I would recommend the Tybee Island wedding chapel a million times over. The staff was kind, professional and responses were prompt via email. It's no wonder the venue is stunningly beautiful- I got to witness the owner herself trimming hedges on the morning of my wedding! You can tell they truly take pride in providing this space for a bride/groom's most special day! Can I go again?

My daughter recently got married at this venue, and it was absolutely amazing!! The staff were very supportive and quick to respond. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. If you are looking for a fairytale venue for your wedding or your child’s wedding, this is your place. Alexis S. Gillis at the venue was so incredibly kind and helpful. Again, I highly recommend this venue.

The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel & Ballroom was perfect for my wedding! We made the decision to go with them while we were touring it because of how beautiful everything was. The chapel upstairs is amazing on its own and having everything in the same location was perfect for the evening. I highly recommend working with them, we had a great experience and loved being able to pick all our vendors rather than having specific ones required by the venue.

The venue is STUNNING and we received so many compliments. They really let you make your day your own and we are so SO happy we chose to get married here!

Tybee Island Wedding Chapel was the perfect venue. I was able to have my dream wedding here and customize almost every detail to be exactly as I had envisioned. Alexis is such a sweetheart and was incredibly helpful every step of the way. She made sure every question that I had (and there were a lot of them) was answered with a positive attitude and went above and beyond for us! She made me feel so comfortable despite being an out of town bride. If you’re getting married on Tybee, this is the place to do it.

The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel was absolutely perfect! The chapel is beautiful, reception space is spacious and lovely, and the flowers outside the chapel made for beautiful photos. It was perfect for our spring wedding. Alexis was great to work with as well, very responsive and super kind. I can’t recommend enough!

This venue was absolutely beautiful and had so much natural, built in beauty. The staff was incredible to work with so generous and kind! They continued to check in with me and were always readily available for any questions I had along the way. We were gifted so much hospitality and professionalism as well as any help we needed! The chapel had beautiful wooden beams that made our ceremony so much more sweeter and I cannot wait to see our pictures! The venue had so many great photo spots!

Tybee Island Wedding Chapel exceeded all our expectations. My husband and I planned the destination wedding from Dallas, TX and didn't see the venue in person until the day of the rehearsal. It is absolutely gorgeous and depicted exactly like the photos presented. Alexis was tremendously helpful through the process. We are very pleased and happy that we chose this as our venue.

Talk about a perfect venue. This place screams gorgeous. Alexis was quick to assist in anything we needed. My sister was able to pull off the wedding of her dreams and it all started with the venue. I'm serious when I say you cannot go wrong with picking this place!

Tybee Wedding Chapel was a dream come true for my daughter, Jillian and her new husband Matt. Alexis went above and beyond with service. Every time we had a question, Alexis responded swiftly. The chapel is magnificent, and the grand ballroom was perfect. We had 107 people. The dance floor was the perfect size, the tables were excellent and the chairs sturdy and comfortable. We had plenty of time to get ready in the bridal suite which was the perfect size. We had 2 bathrooms to use, and the dressing area was a nice size. The groom and groomsman had a nice size room as well with a bathroom. The chapel was the highlight of the day. From the moment the double doors swung open, and my daughter walked through them to be greeted by her father and walk down the aisle to the kiss after they were pronounced Mr. and Mrs., the chapel was beautiful. Every guest complimented us on the venue. They adored it. The gasps I heard when Jillian entered will be in my mind forever. We did not allow use of cellphones, because we wanted to see everyone's face when walking down the aisle. It was a great decision, although some friends and family did use their phones, so we have a few pictures. We are waiting for the photographer's pictures. We can't wait. Jillian and Matt even went to the beach for sunset photos. The cocktail hour/bar area was again the perfect size. We used 3 bartenders and were happy about that decision, although 2 would have been sufficient. We also added a late light snack which was served in this room. It went over very well. The outside of the venue was perfect too. Many guests wandered out for the bathrooms, to sit on the swing, chat and catch up. It was lovely and again our guests complimented this area as well. We opted for sparklers and a convertible car with driver for their farewell, and I am so happy we did. The couple had their last dance alone in the ballroom and we were all outside with the sparklers for their exit. It was such a beautiful moment. Again, I can't wait to see the photos of that. I cannot say enough good things about Tybee Wedding Chapel. It is simply a fairytale wedding venue and I highly recommend it. Our guests all rented cottages for the weekend and they loved getting away to Tybee. They enjoyed the island so much. I had been worried about it, because most weddings have a room block at hotels, but our guests loved it and really made the most of their time there. We did recommend the DeSoto Hotel to guests that did not opt for a cottage and my guests liked it. So, I would recommend this hotel if you really wanted to block rooms. It has access to the beach and is close to all the action of Tybee. Thank you, Alexis and the Tybee Wedding Chapel Team.

Tybee Chapel was a dream venue! What sealed the deal was its beautiful chapel and gorgeous ballroom! Grooms and bride rooms are very nice as well. Alexis was our point of contact and she was quick to respond to ALL of my nervous bride emails (THANK YOU!). Our day went off without a hitch!

The Tybee Island Wedding Chapel was our perfect venue! We looked a few and none of them combined the elements that we wanted like Tybee. Alexis was wonderful to work with, from inquiring about the space and requesting a tour to meeting her again on our Wedding Day to make sure everything is in place. We loved that the areas for the ceremony and reception are in the same place with beautiful areas outside for photos and cocktail hours. A lot of other vendors in the area have familiarity with the space so that was a plus too. Bridal and Groom Suites were conveniently located next to bathrooms and provided enough space for everything we needed. The stairway provides a dreamlike entrance into the reception. (Our bridal party entered from the side.) You can change the lights in the reception area. The cocktail space worked perfectly for cocktail hour and during our reception. (We had our photo booth in there too.) We wouldn't change a thing about the venue. It was perfect!

The venue speaks for itself, absolutely stunning. Alexis was great with helping and answering any questions I had while planning my wedding. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone considering getting married in Tybee.

What else can be said about the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel that hasn’t already been said? Its exterior beauty is self-evident with double staircases out front, a creek out back surrounded by old trees with low hanging branches, and the building’s white wooden paneling. The interior is like something out of a movie (which it is circa The Last Song). Intimate, yet appropriately sized. Gorgeous exposed wooden beams. Warmth in color that would match any wedding color palette. The acoustics make sound equipment unnecessary. A selling point for us was the equally impressive Grand Ballroom that is located right below the chapel. Seamless transition from ceremony to reception. If you are looking for an all-in-one venue that is easily accessible, appropriately priced, with a staff that is immensely helpful (provided multiple rates, known vendors, and quick communication), the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel should be at the top of your list.

The venue did such a good job making sure all of our questions were answered and all of our needs were met. We were allowed to come see it multiple times with sometimes little to no warning, and they sent over photos and floor plans whenever we asked for them! It was so convenient to have the ceremony and reception at the same location, and the different venues were so seperate it felt like two different events. Awesome venue!

We immediately fell in love with Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. The pictures online as just as this space is in person - every part of the venue is beautiful! Alexis was wonderful to work with. We would 100% choose this place again and again.

Alexis was very helpful and answered all of my questions leading up to our big day. The venue was perfect and I will cherish having it in my memories of our special day.

The venue it self was amazing beautiful and worth the money but the service/ help I got from the lady supposedly in charge of my wedding was less than helpful. No help when goin through with vendors about best look or anything like that. The day of no help with chapel speaker system so were unable to use speakers and microphones , layout was not correct and no communication about making sure it was right before the day of. For the amount of money paid it was like I only paid for the space and nothing else.

Our wedding was on July 4th, 2021. We had Alexis Gillis help with everything about the Chapel. From the moment I saw the venue in May 2020, I fell in love with it. Everything is clean and well taken of. Their list of vendors was so useful for us since we leave 4.5 hours away from the venue. Alexis was on us through the entire process of organizing everything. She was always prompt in answering our emails. The venue is breathtaking and the staff is perfect!

This place has a wonderful fairytale-simple elegance feel to it!!! From the moment we saw the Chapel I knew I wanted this to be our venue site. I hoped my fiancé agreed!! Thank Goodness he loved it just as much as I did!!! Working with Alexis was so easy. The venue has a wonderful back drop for pictures and we heard all night how the guest "loved" that we had the Ceremony and Reception in the same spot!!! I can't wait to see all of our photos!!! Definitely recommend this venue!!!! So much love!!!

This venue was perfect for mine and my husbands vision of our wedding day! We loved the dark beams in the chapel and how everything was attached so there was no secondary location people had to travel to. The only downside we found was that the bar was in a separate room then the reception so people were all spaced out and would get caught up talking by the bar instead of the reception area but this is no fault of the venue just an issue we found. Great for cocktail hour! Alexis was so nice and awesome meeting all of our needs/questions. We would definitely choose this place again if we had the chance!

This venue really is as wonderful as all the reviews say. It's beautiful and the staff is wonderful. After two reschedules due to covid, the staff were so kind and encouraging to our family. They were genuinely cheering us on to make sure our daughter's wedding was everything she wanted.

We decided to have a destination in Savannah and my (now) husband was set on a venue within city limits. I found Tybee and he was reluctant but agreed to go tour it. As soon as we walked in, we both knew it was our venue, no hesitation! We loved the separation between the chapel and the ballroom, especially with the bar for cocktail hour. This gave our wedding a nice flow, without anyone getting "bored" of sitting in the same area for 6 hours. Other reviews have said it, but there was nothing really needed in the chapel to make it more special, it was breathtaking in its own right. The ballroom had the option of round or rectangular tables, which is actually something weird I was really passionate about wanting. The real small but amazing detail that I loved were the chairs. They are so much nicer than the plasticky chairs you get at most venues--there was no need for a chair cover! We worked with Melissa and she was so kind and helpful. Obviously we got married during COVID so there were many things up and down in the air and she was always so patient with any frantic questions or last minute changes. Our guest list started off 100+ but we ended up with 50 guests and the venue felt perfectly sized--not too empty, which I was worried about. There are a million things I am sure I am forgetting to highlight, but this was really the perfect venue and I could not be happier we chose it!!

This venue is beautiful! We went to quite a few venues and when we saw this one there was no question that this was the one! It is a place that needs very little to make the day beautiful and classic! I loved all the space and that it was all indoors. It is gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS! I couldn’t imagine a better venue!

The venue was gorgeous with plenty of spots to take pictures. Alexis worked with us every step of the way, even through these unprecedented times during COVID. Overall, they helped make our experience a one to remember.

I highly highly recommend the Tybee Wedding Chapel! We worked with Alexis for our wedding in March 2020. She was very helpful and worked with us to make our rehearsal and wedding day run as smoothly as possible. She was available for my constant questions and emailed back in a very timely manner. We absolutely love this venue and it is even more beautiful in person. The ceremony space is so gorgeous that it needs very minimal decorations and the ballroom is spacious and allows the perfect amount of room for all your guests to enjoy themselves.

We could not say one thing bad about the Chapel at all! Everyone we worked with was extremely accommodating & helpful during the whole process.

Beautiful! Still in love with the Chapel and the Grand Ballroom! Throughout the entire planning process, the entire staff was great! The day of the wedding, there was some disconnect. There was supposed to be a member of the chapel staff there for the actual event, and there was not. Unfortunately, we had some thunderstorms and we lost power at the chapel for a brief moment just before the ceremony began. Luckily, it came back on quickly, but it did blow a fuse to their projector screen. My planner had some difficulties getting in touch with the staff to get the problem resolved, and when they did send someone out, they were unable to fix it. This was not a major deal in the grand scheme of things, but I was disappointed that I was unable to play a slideshow I had created for my late father during my father-daughter dance. I understand the weather cannot be helped, but it would have been helpful if staff was present, or able to be reached easier, and my planner didn’t have to spend time trying to reach them. Otherwise, the venue itself is stunning and we still love the beauty it holds!

We absolutely fell in love with the chapel from the moment we first saw it (via FaceTime). Krystal understood we were a military couple trying to plan a wedding in GA all the way from CA and did everything to meet our needs. Halfway through our planning process with the chapel we then met Summer, who continued to help us out and answer literally every single question we had or could think of. As a bride, you worry that you are super annoying with your thousands of questions but Summer patiently helped us. She also let me call last minute during my bridal photoshoot and let me get my pictures done at the chapel (because it was pouring down rain & my outside pictures were not going to happen). I had sooooo many people the day of our wedding say “this is seriously the prettiest wedding I’ve ever been to”. It was a lot of money for us to fork out but we don’t regret getting married there! It’s so worth it! The only advice I’d have is to ask beforehand how to work the lights for the reception/dance floor because the chapel workers leave and the only person that is there that late is security and they didn’t know how to help us with the lights.

My husband and I just got married at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel last weekend and it was absolutely incredible. Our guest have not stopped talking about how much they enjoyed the wedding and how beautiful the venue was. The team there was so helpful during the planning process and made our wedding day everything we hoped it would be!

We could not have been happier with our decision to host our wedding and reception at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel and Grand Ballroom in May of 2018. The staff was friendly, helpful, accommodating, responsive, and courteous. They made everything so easy on us! And the venue is absolutely gorgeous! It was a huge relief and super convenient to be able to have the wedding and reception in one place! Everything was perfect - not only for me and my wife, but also for our guests. Many of our guests are still raving that our wedding and reception was one of the most fun and beautiful that they have ever attended. We would HIGHLY recommend the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel and Grand Ballroom to anyone getting married in the in the Savannah/Tybee area!

From the very first email to the last communication, the staff was prompt, informed, professional, and pleasant. We had absolutely no issues and could not have asked for a better venue experience. The venue is stunning, and it is very convenient to have the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception areas all in one place. It is also great to have outdoor areas where guests can go to enjoy the nice weather. I worked mainly with Krystal, and she thoroughly answered every question I had leading up to the wedding day. She also made sure that every detail was taken care of to ensure that I could enjoy my day without any worries. I am not good at visualizing things; it's much easier for me to see things in person before I can make a decision. Krystal was very understanding of this and willingly met us at the chapel a few times to help me finalize my plans. She was also comforting and calm when the details started to become overwhelming. The only thing I would let other brides know is how the rehearsal can not be at the traditional time if a wedding is booked the day before yours. The rehearsal will have to be in the morning the day before. This did not pose any problems for me, but it might need to be taken into account if anyone in the bridal party will be traveling in. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend this venue to other brides.

We can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff are at the Tybee Island Chapel and Wedding venue. Summer Fortner and the staff at the venue were incredible. From the very beginning to last minute changes, they were on top of things and so accommodating. My daughter and her husband had the wedding they desired. It was just so beautiful. We heard throughout the night how much the guests loved the venue. We are so happy that we chose this venue and would do it all over again!
